Hi! its jasmine, i was born here in yogyakarta in July 23rd, 1999. But for the past ten years i live in Pekanbaru, Riau. One of my dad's job requirements is to live in Sumatera so me, my sisters and my mom had to follow my dad to Pekanbaru. I still go to jogja at least once a year since it is my hometown to celebrate Idul Fitri or just to spend our holidays here in Jogja. I went to school in Pekanbaru since kindergaten to junior high but i finished my highschool in PPMI Assalaam, Solo. My hobbies are singing and travelling. I sing for myself, to express my feelings and letting out the emotions inside me. So im not really interested in pursuing any singing career nor do i feel the need to make people like my voice or my singing. As for travelling, i think every once in a while everyone needs some sort of escape from their rutinities just to stay sane, to keep up with everything that is happening in their life. And for me, travelling is the best way to do that
ReplyDeleteBe careful with your capitalization. Don't get into bad habits. The personal pronoun I is always a capital letter. And Yogyakarta [and "jogja"] must have a capital letter for the same reason that Pekanbaru, Riau and Sumatera are capitalized.
DeleteI notice that you use the spelling "travelling" which is the British spelling [as opposed to the American "traveling"]. Well done! Hooray for British English!
Jasmine should have written: "I was born here in Yogyakarta in July 23rd, 1999."
DeleteThis means you are 19 years old, right?
Hello Mr. Adrian! I’m Fat, one of your guinea pigs. The name’s actually Fatia Aisyah. People usually call me by Fatia, but I’m trying to ‘re-label’ myself. I was considering the name 'Chia' but most people disagree with that so I chose the classroom name Fat, as some sort of joke to some people, I guess. But really I’m just trying to minimalize the possibility of people (i.e. English-speaking natives) to pronounce my name wrong and to get people to realize that being Fat isn’t an insult. I’ve always consider myself an outgoing person, the ones that always try to get to know everyone around before they even introduce their selves. I talk a lot, and i consider it one of my strengths. I lived my whole life in Jakarta and spend most of my time on social media like any other millennial, but I have always been interested in broadening my knowledge through new experiences by stepping out of my comfort zone and so that is my main motive to study in UGM and start a new phase of life here.
ReplyDeleteFat wrote: "I’ve always consider myself an outgoing person..."
DeleteThe verb "consider" here should be Verb III because the construction uses the present perfect tense. Like this:
"I’ve always considered myself an outgoing person."
Hello there, my name is Stara Mutiara Gaffar i'm the oldest child among my siblings, i got two brothers, their name is Rio and Hanif. I'm very proud to be one of the students in FEB UGM, especially in the Accounting Department. I want to be a better person in this campus and i think UGM got so many opportunities for me to develop my soft and hard skill. I'd love to keep myself busy so i did join many group when i still in senior high, i participated dancing, and music course. One of my biggest achievement is that my dancing group could go to Russia and win the folklore festival competition through saman dance, And i really hope i could intensify my dancing skill in here so i can keeping up with my hobby. Last week was the first time i went to FEB UG, During the induction day i heard the speakers told us so many inspiring story, i was mesmerized and on that day i promised to myself that i will be better each day and make my parents proud of me!
ReplyDeleteStara wrote: "I got two brothers" and "I think UGM got so many opportunities for me".
DeleteBoth of these uses of the word "got" sound a bit like slang [i.e. too informal].
When you want the word "got" to mean "have" then you should write/say "I have got" or "I've got", e.g. "I've got a Honda Scoopy." This applies to the two times you used "got" in the text above. It doesn't really work for talking about things you had in the past.
The words "get" and "got" also mean bcome/became as in:
"I got angry with Stara because she kept using a small letter for the pronoun 'I'."
Hi! My name is Hanna Wida Kiana but, everyone calls me Hanna. I’m 18 years old and I was born in Semarang, Indonesia on May 16th 2000. I’m a second child and I have an older sister who studies in UGM, taking economics as her major and a younger brother who still studies in Loyola High School, Semarang. I used to live in Jakarta for half my life before moving to California, United states and moved back to Semarang in 5th grade. When I first came to Semarang I had a hard time adapting myself because I wasn’t able speak Javanese at all and there was also a Mandarin lesson which was a challenge for me since it was very new to me. But through it all, I managed to learn both languages quite well. My hobbies consist of swimming, cooking, writing short fictional stories, and travelling to new amusing places. I also enjoy watching movies especially romantic-comedy genre and listening to pop music. I am currently a student in the Faculty of Economics and Business University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta and I’m taking accounting as my major.
ReplyDeleteHanna wrote: "My name is Hanna Wida Kiana but, everyone calls me Hanna."
DeleteThe comma is in the wrong place. In fact, you don't need a comma in this sentence, but if you do uese one it should be after "Kiana" and before "but".
Hanna wrote: "I used to live in Jakarta for half my life before moving to California, United states and moved back to Semarang in 5th grade."
DeleteYou have explained this in a slightly puzzling way. When did you move to Jakarta? Do you mean to tell us you lived in California for 4.5 years?
Hello everyone! Through this post, I would introduce myself and let you know some facts about me. To begin with, I would like to let you know my name. My name is Alexander. I am Indonesian. I am a student majoring in Business Management at Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Next, I’d like to tell you a bit more about my background, personality, goals in life, etc. I was born in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, on 17th May 2000. I had spent the first 18 years of my life in the city where I was born. Only a few weeks ago did I ever leave my hometown, to stay, study, and gain some experience of living independently, here in Yogyakarta. As a person, I see myself as an introvert who doesn’t talk much. Despite that, I am not an antisocial. It takes time for me to be open about myself to new people. But, I’ll be so amiable to people that I’ve known for weeks. I also love to be a leader (although I’m an introvert) and make decisions. I have some goals in life. One of them is to create a company that could last for more than a century. I believe that by studying in FEB UGM, I would later have the capability to do just that.
ReplyDeleteAlex wrote: "17th May 2000"
DeleteEverybody note that writing the date this way means you don't need to use a comma between the day's date [a number] and the year [another number] like this:
"May 17th, 2000"
For this reason, I personally prefer writing a date using the same format as Alex has used.
Alex wrote: "I also love to be a leader (although I’m an introvert) and make decisions."
DeleteThis is an interesting claim to make about yourself!
People who 'love to be leaders' are usually - by definition - extroverts. And yet you claim to be an introvert. Hmmm.
Ah, the shortest full name i have ever heard on my life. Alexander.
DeleteHello Mr. Adrian, my name is Dimas and I’m in your guinea pig class, I live in Jakarta for the most of my live and I’m the middle child of my family. I have a brother named Teguh and a sister named Sekar. I’m very proud to be accepted in FEB UGM especially since I came from a public school and public school students tend to be stereotyped toward having “bad English”. I see myself as really outgoing person and I want to know a lot of people here. When I was in the high school I joined my high school choir and won the Praga Cantat Festival. I enjoyed my time here especially beause of the people here are so cool but I kinda miss my family and friend in Jakarta a bit, however that is also my main motivation here to study hard in FEB UGM because my family expect me to do good and also learn and improve new skill.
ReplyDeleteDimas [#1] wrote: "I live in Jakarta for the most of my live..."
DeleteIt's "life", not "live". Also, the correct construction is "I HAVE LIVED in Jakarta for the most of my life..."
Also, compare this...
"When I was in the high school I joined my high school choir and won the Praga Cantat Festival."
to this...
"When I was in the high school I joined the choir and won the Praga Cantat Festival."
Has any important information been omitted by l;eaving out the repetition of "high school"?
No, it hasn't.
Hello Mr.Adrian and all the readers, my name is Nurul Islami Putri; you can call me Nurul for short. I am the EWS student from Tuesday class and it is good to be part of the Perfect Class. First thing to know about me is that I came from Jakarta, my high school was in High Scope. I am currently 17th years old and I am a left-handed (lefty) person. My hobby is to listen to music, well I know it’s pretty common. But anyway, this is my very first time living by my own in a very new city (for me) even though I have lived in a several cities of Indonesia, including Makassar, Medan, Jakarta, and Semarang. So, really hope that I can adapt pretty well here in Jogja. Aside from studying at FEB UGM, exploring the culinary of Jogja is include as one of my To Do List. Thereby, it will be very helpful if some of you could reply this comment to recommend me some of cheap, great, and awesome food here in Jogja.
ReplyDeleteNurul wrote: "Thereby, it will be very helpful if some of you could reply this comment to recommend me some of cheap, great, and awesome food here in Jogja.
DeleteThere will be a blog article next week where students can talk about places in Yogya they've been to and also make recommendations about places to eat.
Do you play golf?
DeleteYes, I do play golf sir.
DeleteHi there, I’m Elia Adiel. I was born in the East side of Java, Surabaya on May 19th 1999, but not long after I was born there, my family and I moved to Lampung, due to my father’s work. After being raised in Lampung for around 5 years, my parents decided that I should go to Australia for education purpose. In Australia I lived alongside my brother and my uncle’s family. During my time in Australia, I was very blessed to have so many friends because it made my time there more comfortable, as I was feeling homesick during my early move to Australia. However, after 2 years living in Melbourne, I had to returned back to Indonesia because my uncle had a job offer that required him to move to Italy. After moving back to Indonesia, I settled in a small city named Salatiga, which is located in Central Java, between Semarang and Solo. Just like in Australia, I lived an independent life in Salatiga, because my parents still lived in Lampung during that time. During my time Salatiga, I attended a school named Mountainview, and was again blessed with community that welcomed me warmly. Six years later, I graduated from Mountainview, and luckily got accepted to Universitas Gadjah Mada. As for now I’m currently studying under the Faculty of Economics and Business and I’m excited to gain new experiences in this university.
ReplyDeleteSo, like Jasmine, you are 19 years old? Most people arriving at FEB for semester 1 are either 17 [if they were on the fast track at school] or more commonly 18 years old. I am curious about "The Nineteen Year Olds" among the students!
DeleteEvening all. My name is Rayhan Adhikara and I was born and raised in South Jakarta. I am currently studying for my undergraduate degree in management from Universitas Gadjah Mada. My goals for this class would be to try as hard as I can to attain satisfying results and to also improve my English writing skills. My dream for the future is to be successful in whatever endeavor I decide to take on and make my parents proud. On a personal basis I enjoy listening to music and supporting my favorite football club. As a student I would describe myself as someone who always tries his best to complete all tasks and requirements but that does not mean that I am a perfect student; I still make lots of mistakes every now and then. All in all, I am confident that this class would be a great opportunity to engage ourselves academically and form solidarity as fellow students.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you used the semi colon.
DeleteI also not from the words "endeavor" and "favorite" that you favour American English spelling.
Hi! I go by the name of Raul. I was born in Jakarta, on the 1st of July in 2000. I am eagerly looking forward to study at University of Gadjah Mada, majoring in Management and Business. Field of study aside, I am fond of learning about history and foreign conflicts. Having said that, I would love to be a journalist one day. I am a passionate football fan, supporting Manchester United and AC Milan. Oh, how miserable is that. To add to it, I am also an avid automotive enthusiast and have been interviewed by Kompas newspaper when I was only 5 years old, due to my extensive knowledge about cars. I like to read books about politics and satire, especially books written by George Orwell, who happens to be my favourite author. I would describe myself as an assertive individual, and also a thoroughly open-minded person, willing to listen and take any opinion into consideration.
ReplyDeleteRaul wrote: "I am eagerly looking forward to study at University of Gadjah Mada..."
DeleteAfter the expression "look forward to" or "looking forward to" you need a NOUN. In this case, you need the gerund (a noun derived from a verb) "studying".
So... "I am eagerly looking forward to studying at University of Gadjah Mada."
Or...
"I am eagerly looking forward to my studies at University of Gadjah Mada."
Or...
"I am eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to study at University of Gadjah Mada."
Raul wrote: "I am also an avid automotive enthusiast and have been interviewed by Kompas newspaper when I was only 5 years old..."
DeleteIf you use the present perfect tense 'I have been + VERB III' then it means something that has happened in the past that is relevant or being commented on now - where exactly WHEN it happened is not mentioned.
However, in your writing you specify when the interview was: when you were 5 years old. This makes it incorrect to use the present perfect tense.
So...
"I am also an avid automotive enthusiast and I was interviewed by Kompas newspaper when I was only 5 years old..."
Hello Mr. Adrian and all the readers, my name is Muhammad Naga Abhista Kuncoro (Aga). I was born in Jakarta, 29 september 2000, but I spend most of my childhood with my family at jatisampurna, bekasi. I graduated from Labschool Cibubur senior highscool which is located just about one or two kilometers from my house. I had lots of wonderful memories there, and I also had lots of friends who are always there for me, I hope that we will still be friends even when we lived at different places. Now, I am an International undergraduate student at faculty of management University of Gadjah Mada. Both my father and mother are actually originated from Jogja to be precise both of them are from Bantul. I occasionally visit jogja once in a while, but anually I visited my parents hometown every year at eid al fitr which I stayed at my grandparents hous for about 1-2 weeks. But, I didn’t stay at my grandparents house when im pursuing my bachelor’s degree at UGM, because Bantul is about 20 km from University of Gadjah Mada, so I rent a small place in jl. Kaliurang. I hoped that I can continue my study to Erasmus University at Netherlands, thus I’ll try my best to get a very good Gpa, enrich my Organizational skills, and generally Increase my knowledge at Gadjah Mada University.
ReplyDeleteAga wrote: "I am an International undergraduate student at faculty of management University of Gadjah Mada."
DeleteThis is not true!
Aga wrote: "I’ll try my best to get a very good Gpa, enrich my Organizational skills, and generally Increase my knowledge at Gadjah Mada University."
DeleteBe careful with your capital letters,
The word "organizational" does not need a capital letter; nor does "increase".
Meanwhile, "GPA" should be capitalized - not 'Gpa'.
The same goes for "Jatisampurna, Bekasi" earlier in your text.
Hi everyone! allow me to introduce myself, my name is Ryan Muhammad Hanif Nugraha, you can call me Ryan or simply Ry or Yan. I was born and raised in Bintaro, 09 October 1999. I came from a family of five, a father, a mother, an older sister and an older brother. I went to Al-Izhar Pondok Labu from middle school to high school which is located in Jakarta Selatan (South of Jakarta). I have really fond memories and experiences of studying at Al-Izhar and I really liked it. After being accepted in Economics on Gadjah Mada University's Faculty of Economics and Business, the thing that I really didn't expect is there are so many people whom they share many mutual friends with me, so it makes me easier to get along with other students. I found Yogyakarta very interesting and compelling because of its citizen's warmth. I hoped I can continue my double degree at Erasmus University studying Economics.
ReplyDeleteHello "Unknown" (Ryan). Be sure to get a Google account (or some equivalent) so that your name appears every time you post.
DeleteHi everybody, it’s Helga from Tuesday Class (cough, Perfect Class.) I’m sorry to disappoint you but I’m not a German und ich kann nicht Deutsch sprechen. Okay, maybe a little bit. I was born in Semarang on March 19th. I lived there for 2 years and then my family moved to Bekasi for 10 years. After that, we had to move again and we’ve been living in Cibubur ever since. Now I’m staying in Yogyakarta by myself for education purposes. I went to Al Azhar 19 Cibubur Junior High School and continued my study in a public school in Jakarta. My hobbies are watching recommended videos on Youtube, wasting most of my time on animation series, and crying over some fictional characters. If you’re interested in the same thing as I am, please don’t hesitate to hit me up. I won’t bite, guys! Oh right, I’m a hufflepuff. Thank you and have a good day!
ReplyDeleteHelga wrote: "I lived there for 2 years and then my family moved to Bekasi for 10 years."
DeleteWrite 'two' as a word and not as a digit. This applies to all the numbers below ten - in fact some people prefer that all numbers below eleven should be written as words.
Hi Mr Adrian and my fellow classmates! My name is Jessica, I was born in Jakarta 18th of January 2000. I went to Cikal-Amri High School where I received my IB Diploma taking Psychology, English, Bahasa Indonesia, Biology, Visual Art and Mathematical Studies. I truly aspire to be a driven and determined being with the ability to empower myself and my surroundings. I crave for experiences and i find an exceptional sense of joy in trying new things. I am interested in so many things including psychology, business, neuroscience, philosophy, art, and nature. If people ask me what I imagine myself to study if not business, i would answer neurobiology (though I’m really happy about my decision to study business, because otherwise I would spend more than 10 years studying the human brain in university). I do a lot of sports including swimming, water polo, fitness and basketball. I am also passionate in the world of art and design which led me to become a freelance graphic designer. People around me know that I am very outspoken and they tend to come to me for advice because in most cases I would rather tell them what they should know, not what they want to hear. Though I may look rather reserved, I can be really loud and annoying especially when I’m with my closest friends.
ReplyDeleteJessica, I looked at your blog...
Delete"My First Blog
Today, I went to Ferrel's & Keenan's house..."
And that's the only blog post you ever made!
I mentioned this phenomenon in class!
Welcome to the EWS Blog. Here you can (and must) post more than once!
Greetings Mr. Adrian and to all my fellow classmates! My name is Muhammad Akbar Nugroho but, my friends call me "Arke". I recieved that nickname when I was studying abroad in Cheng Du, China from 2011 until 2013 at Léman International School Cheng Du. It started when my teacher wanted to give me a chinese name, which was "艾克" which is read "Ai Ke" but, somehow everyone just called me "Arke". I was born in a small town called Duri in Riau on the 25th of December 1999, yes that's right I was born on Christmas Morning, even though I don't celebrate it. Anytime I mentioned my birthday people always seem to ask "wow so you get 2 presents for that day?!". I was very lucky to have had studied in one of the most prestigious schools in China, which is where I acquired most of my english skills. My hobbies include: basketball, robotics, and gaming (usually MMORPG's and MOBA's". I am also honoured to be in Mr. Adrian's EWS class because the learning system here is unconventional and maybe even unorthodox but, I like trying new things and I like this system better. I have a girlfriend (sorry ladies) she is from my high school and luckily she is now also attending college in Yogyakarta. I apologize if I'm not very social, my main goal is really to graduate on time with honours hopefully. By the way, I am now chasing after my Bachelor of Management degree at University of Gadjah Mada.
ReplyDeleteArke wrote: "Anytime I mentioned my birthday people always seem to ask "wow so you get 2 presents for that day?!"
DeleteAnd? Do you?
Arke wrote: "I am also honoured to be in Mr. Adrian's EWS class because the learning system here is unconventional and maybe even unorthodox..."
DeleteThis comment caught my attention. I see "unconventional" and "unorthodox" as synonyms. But the way you have written this suggests you think they mean different things. Do you?
Greetings, Mr. Adrian and everyone buzzing through the comment section, my name is Muhammad Zaki Nandana Hawasi and people call me Zaki. Mr. Adrian addressed my class as the Who Are All These People Class (Thursday Class). One thing before I disclose what I feel that all of you should know about me, I would like to make a clear statement due to some sort of misconception that people think the “Hawasi” in my name is a Japanese name, no it’s not. It’s just an abbreviation of my parents name with an Arabic word that means “and” in between their names. Alright, let’s just get back to the topic. I consider myself as a native of Jogjakarta despite the Kalimantan blood in my veins that I inherit from my parents. That is because I spend most of my life up to this point in the city, and that I have the thick Javanese accent when I speak to people, just in case if anyone wants to know where I live, it’s just north of Mandala Krida Stadium, there’s a good Nasi Pecel stall here. I’ve got a strange interest in violence, but in a honorable and dedicative way and that is because I trained my body and mind rigorously in martial arts, so let’s just say I beat people up for fun, but not in “that” way. I think the way that I ended up deciding to master the “Art/Science of Accounting” (there’s been a dispute whether accounting is an art or a science) at FEB UGM is because of a personal vendetta, I’ll consider telling more about this if anyone is interested. That’ll be all for now.
ReplyDeleteZaki wrote: "I’ve got a strange interest in violence, but in a honorable and dedicative way and that is because I trained my body and mind rigorously in martial arts, so let’s just say I beat people up for fun, but not in “that” way."
DeleteI acknowledge your veiled threat. Thank you for the warning. However I will not compromise my integrity; if I give you less than an A, I will change my name and go into hiding.
I'm interested in that personal vendetta of yours!
DeleteAnd Happy Independence Day! Merdeka!
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian and my fellow classmates! My name is Data Avicenna, I was born in Bekasi on 9th of August 1999. I had lived in Bekasi until I’m around 10 years old which is at 2010, before I decided to move to Sydney for 4 years due to both of my parents taking their PhD scholarship. After my parents completed their PhD study in Sydney at the end of 2013, I lived in Jember which is a small city in East Java, together with my brother and my mother, while my father had to work in Jakarta. My family moved to Jember because my mother had to take care of my grandfather who got sick, and we stayed for 4 years at my grandparents’ house during our stay. It wasn’t until I graduated from high school when I finally moved to Yogyakarta after being accepted to study Economics at Universitas Gadjah Mada. My favourite activity to do on my free time is playing musical instruments. I am a drummer when I perform with a band, but I usually just grab a guitar and sing along with some friends on my free time.

Data wrote: "I had lived in Bekasi until I’m around 10 years old which is at 2010, before I decided to move to Sydney..."
DeleteAlmost right! (The past perfect tense is, I admit, a trick one to use.)
Compare these two versions of what you said...
"I had lived in Bekasi for 10 years old before I decided to move to Sydney in 2010..."
"I lived in Bekasi until I was around 10 years old, which was in 2010, before I decided to move to Sydney..."
Hi everyone, I would like to introduce myself. My full name is Shenny Laurencia, but I go by the name Shen. My EWS class is on Tuesday, which is also means that I’m from the perfect class. I was born in Jakarta on October 30, 2000, but I’ve been living here in Yogyakarta since 2010. I graduated from an all-girls school called Stella Duce 1 Senior High School. I’m currently majoring in business management even though I was majoring in science during my high school study. I love reading, cooking and travelling. I’m also a movie enthusiast. My favourite movies are mostly from Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’m also a die-hard Harry Potter fan (I’m a Slytherin according to pottermore). I love watching football leagues too. I was supporting Japan during the last world cup but unfortunately Japan didn’t get to the quarterfinals *cry*. Anyway, aside from the academic fields, I’m also learning about film making. Maybe if some of you are interested in film making too, please do not hesitate to contact me, perhaps we could do a movie project together. I think that’s all for now, thanks for reading.

Hi everyone, my name is Pierric, I was born on the 25th September 1998 In France. I lived most of life in a small city called Narbonne, in the south of France not far from the Spanish border. After my high-school graduation my parents moved to Africa for works and I moved to Toulouse in France, to continue my studies at Toulouse Business School. On my 2nd year of university, I went to Hong-Kong as an exchange student at The Hong-Kong Polytechnics university to study marketing, for 6 months, after that I went back to France to finish my 2nd year of uni. I really enjoyed Hong-Kong during my exchange that I decided to go back to Hong-Kong for an internship last summer in a French wine company, as a sales assistant. Finally, I had the possibility to pursue my 3rd of bachelor’s degree at Gadjah Mada University, with the dual degree programs, so here I am in Yogyakarta!
ReplyDeletePierric wrote: "I lived most of life in a small city called Narbonne, in the south of France not far from the Spanish border.:
DeleteDo you have a regional accent when you speak your mother tongue that other French people can hear (and locate) when they hear you talk?
Pierric wrote: "After my high-school graduation my parents moved to Africa for works."
DeleteIf we are talking about employment, we treat the word "work" as an uncountable noun. When we hear the plural "works" we tend to automatically think of pieces of art or literature, as in "the works of Shakespeare". It is also used when we talk about philnthropic acts, as in "She was famous for her many good works and charitable activity."
"Narbonne is a town in southern France on the Canal de la Robine. The Gothic Cathédrale Saint-Just et Saint-Pasteur was begun in the 13th century but never completed. The grand Palais des Archevêques (Archbishop's Palace) houses archaeology and art museums. The Horreum is an underground labyrinth of ancient warehouses left over from the town’s days as a Roman port. The nearby beach and harbor is at Narbonne Plage."
DeleteHotel Ibis in Narbonne 3 stars $75 a night. Hotel Ibis in Yogyakarta (Malioboro) 3 stars $45 a night.

Hello there, my name is Violina but just call me Vio and I’m from Mr. Adrian Thursday class a.k.a “Who are All These People” class. Yes, I know, the worst class of the week goes to my class. I was born in Yogyakarta on February 8th, 2001, so I am 17 years old now. What I love to do are singing, playing guitar or ukulele, travelling and listening to music. By that, what I want to be in the future and also my childhood dream and always be my dream until now is to be a singer. Oh, I also want to be a lawyer, but my family does not want me to be a lawyer so I ended up here in Business Management Major of Gadjah Mada University. I did not register myself at any other university or on any other lane in the UGM, only in here, Business Management IUP UGM. So maybe this is my path? I feel so blessed to be accepted in here anyway since I actually already had experience in business, I ever won business competition in 2017 called FIKSI held by KEMDIKBUD so maybe business management major is not that bad for me. I think that’s all about me, thank you for reading.
ReplyDeleteVio wrote: "Oh, I also want to be a lawyer, but my family does not want me to be a lawyer so I ended up here in Business Management Major of Gadjah Mada University."
DeleteIt's always good to avoid repetition; it makes our writing more effective.
You repeated "to be a lawyer" twice in the same sentence. It can be avoided.
"I also want to be a lawyer, but my family does not agree (or 'does not approve')..."
Actually, the past tense is probably better for expressing this point, like this...
"I also wanted to be a lawyer, but my family did not let me..."
Hello Mr. Adrian and everyone else who read this. My name is Bernadi Ekaprana Santosa. People usually call me Dio. A lot of people might wonder “How come it’s Dio”. I personally don’t know how. I was born on November 16th 1999 in Yogyakarta. A little story about myself, I was supposed to graduate high school in 2017 but I took a student exchange program in 2015 and had to redo my junior year here. The program gave me a chance to spend a year in Niles, Michigan, United States. While I was there, I went to Niles New Tech which is an Entrepreneurial Academy. It was a whole different learning experience. I made a lot of friends and gained new insights. It was one of the best year in my life. I do have hobby which is dancing. I may not look like a dancer but I have been dancing for quite a while now and have won several dance competition in the past. I believe dancing can relieve stress. That’s all for now, thank you for reading.
ReplyDeleteDio wrote: "It was one of the best year in my life."
DeleteWhen we use the expression "One of the...", the noun that follows is always plural.
Like this...
"One of the advantages of studying in Yogya is the low cost of living."
"Jakarta is one of the biggest cities in the world."
Hello everyone and Mr. Adrian! My name is Chintya Deviani Rahardjo, but you can call me Chintya. I am from Mr. Adrian’s Thursday class or he named us with “Who are All These People” class. I was born in Yogyakarta, July 25th 2000, and has been living in Yogyakarta since I was born. Since my childhood until my highschool, I always attended a private school, so attending this public university for my college is a whole new thing for me. But I came here to study and also to learn new things, so I don’t mind with adapting to new things and also can’t wait for what this University have for me. I have 3 siblings, and I am the third child. My older sister has been working, my older brother is still in the university, and my little sister is still in high school. In my spare time, I like to hangout with my friends and family, read books, watch movies, listening to musics, yeah just that common activities hahaha. Well, that’s all about me, and I cannot wait to learn this English class more! Thankyou!

DeleteFirst of all, take note of the changes I have made to the sentence above:
"From my childhood until my highschool, I always attended a private school, so attending this public university is a whole new thing for me."
What you say is very intriguing. If you had attended a private university rather than a public university, would it not have also been "a whole new thing" for you?
Hi, Mr. Adrian! My name is Luh Laksmita Ayu Hapsari Dwijaksara, usually called Sita. I was in the Thursday class –or you might say the “Who are All These People” class. I was born in Jakarta, November 6, 2000, and moved to Bali for taking my junior and senior high school. My favorite activities are listening to songs and playing instruments. I’m not mastering music; it’s just nice spending my spare time picking guitar and sing a little bit. The chance to experience the study of Management in Gadjah Mada University hits me with tons of excitement. I currently stay in the left-empty house of my grandma because she chose to live in Jakarta instead. The foods here are nice; I love sweet-savory-tasted cuisine so much. Unlike Jakarta and Bali, everything in Yogyakarta is cheap, whether it is the daily necessity or the online public transportation. The city offers a different shade of vibes which makes me feel serenity and peace. Smells like exciting years ahead I’m going to spend in Yogyakarta.
ReplyDeleteSita, you have expressed yourself with some interesting and colourful language. The prospect of studying at FEB "hits [you] with tons of excitement" and the years ahead "smell" exciting!
DeleteI looked up your name on Wikipedia and this is what it says:
Delete"A birth order name is chosen from a few typical names according to the position of the child in the birth order of siblings. The people of Bali use the birth order name to refer to one another.
The first born are named Wayan, Putu, Gede or for a girl, Ni Luh. Wayan is a Balinese name meaning "eldest".
Second born children are named Made, Kadek, or Nengah. Made and Nengah mean madya or "middle". Kadek means "little brother" or "little sister".
The third born is given the name Nyoman or Komang. These names may be shortened to "Man" and "Mang" respectively.
Fourth born children are named Ketut. Ketut is often shortened to "Tut".
If there is a fifth child in the family, she is often called Wayan Balik (meaning "Wayan again")."
Does all this apply to you and your relatives?
Thank you for your compliment, Sir. Yes, those are true and happened to us. I got Luh as I'm the eldest, followed by Made, Komang, and Ketut as named in my sisters'. The fifth born rarely named Wayan Balik though. We usually use Wayan/Putu/Gede/Luh for the fifth child, Made/Kadek/Nengah for the sixth, and continue repetitively.
DeleteHello! My name is Jonathan David, but people usually call me David. I was born and raised in South Tangerang and I went to the same school for all my life. I went to Santa Laurensia school ever since I was 4 years old and I finally parted with it when I graduated early this year. Because of all the mediocracy, I decided to explore the unknown and all of Indonesia’s cultures and traditions. That’s why I chose the University of Gadjah Mada. I wanted to find a new and better version of myself by pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I consider myself to have an abundance of hobbies. Those hobbies include watching football, watching Marvel movies, listening to music and, last but not least, watching and reading certain Japanese mangas or animes. I believe that life is an adventure if you choose to seek one. I wish to have a great adventure in life and make something out of myself through it. I would really love to get to know you all and have a great time with you all! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteDavid wrote: "I was born and raised in South Tangerang and I went to the same school for all my life. I went to Santa Laurensia school ever since I was 4 years old and I finally parted with it when I graduated early this year."
DeleteThere's nothing much wrong with these two sentences (although "4" should be written "four") but there's something a bit repetitious about the way you have expressed yourself. Compare yours to mine and see if you understand why I have changed it in the way I have...
"I was born and raised in South Tangerang and I went to the same school, Santa Laurensia, from the age of four until I finally parted with them when I graduated early this year."
Notice how I used "them" rather than "it" to refer back to your school?
Take a look at https://tinyurl.com/yccvrwts
Here is an extract:
Collective nouns, such as family, team, audience, or police, are so called because they refer to a group of people or things considered as a whole, that is, collectively. The thorny grammatical issue is one of agreement, or matching subjects and verbs. A collective noun has a singular form but it denotes more than one person or thing: should it therefore be accompanied by a singular verb, a plural verb, or is it an ‘anything goes’ situation, and either verb form is acceptable? As a general rule, you can check the dictionary if you’re not sure – every collective noun has a piece of information about what verb form it should take, and most can be followed by either a singular or a plural verb.
The British view…
However, the verb form used can depend on the emphasis of the sentence, and accepted regional usage, so no wonder many people are confused. In British English it’s absolutely fine to treat most collective nouns as either singular or plural – you can say my husband’s family is very religious or my husband’s family are very religious.
…and from across the Atlantic
American English takes a slightly different approach to the agreement of verbs with collective nouns. There is a very strong preference for the use of singular verbs with such nouns, so in American English you are much more likely to see, for example:
His company’s legal team is investigating the matter.
rather than:
His company’s legal team are investigating the matter.
However, using a plural is acceptable in American English if the writer or speaker wants to emphasize the individuals in a group rather than regarding the group as a single entity:
The NY audience were their usual reserved selves.
End of quote.
Me speaking again.
By using the word "them" to refer to the school, you are emphasizing the school community made up of many people; by using "it", you are referring to the school as an institution or single entity. The two ways of expressing this create a subtle difference in terms of how you feel about your alma mater!
Hello everyone and Mr. Adrian! My name is Mohammad Azrardy Anandita, but people usually call me Azy. I was born on the 6th of February 2000 in Tangerang and lived my life up until the end of my high school years in South Tangerang. During my elementary school years, I went to Cikal Harapan in Serpong and then moved to Binus School Serpong to continue both my middle and high school academic years there. When it comes to hobby, no activities have ever stayed long enough in my life for me to even call them one. However, whereas some people would say that if you really loved your hobby, you could turn it to a profession and make it your main source of income, I’m actually fine with having to deal or go through some bumpy roads as I embark on achieving something exciting. Let’s say, an engineer may or may not always have a smile on his/her face when doing the actual dirty work, but I’m sure that he/she is always kept awake at night thinking of how their project would turn out once it’s finished. And that pure excitement becomes an unbreakable enthusiasm that one would rather die than trading it with something else. That’s how I feel when I talk about what I want to become as I grow older and finally have the chance to contribute to a society that has been piggybacked by everyone who has risked their lives working hard just to maintain it so that later generations can do the same and continue the legacy. Lastly, I have one younger brother and an older sister who basically went to the same high school as me although my sister took it a level further by going to the Binus University. That said, I hope this blog could grow to become a big community that we as UGM students could have friendly discussions in. Thank you for the time you’ve put on reading my introduction!
ReplyDeleteAzy, try to arrange it so your name comes up when you post and not "Unknown".
DeleteHello, Mr. Adrian and everyone! My name is Mutiara Annisa, Tiara in short. I have lived my whole life in Jakarta, and just recently braced myself to go outside of my comfort zone and live on my own here in Yogyakarta. I was born on a Tuesday morning before dawn. My Mother went through a painful pregnancy and labor; she was hospitalized for quite some time before the doctor got me out through a C-section. That day was the 25th of July, and it has become my favorite day of the year. I love traveling, but who doesn't right? After visiting numerous beaches and mountains, I still cannot choose between the two. Despite my undying urge to travel, I’m not really fond of flying. Being inside an airplane for too long is not something I fancy. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a Travel Blogger and through this I would like to showcase the beauty of the places I've visited. Other than that, I enjoy capturing different moments through the lenses of my camera. Whether it’s the people around me, or just the scenery. I hope later in life, I can incorporate my passions into one.
ReplyDeleteHi! Let me introduce myself, I’m Ersa Hapsari, daily called as Ersa. I’m a student in Faculty of Economics and Business, majoring in Accounting, one of the Mr. Adrian’s Guinea Pigs to be more specific. A little information about me, I was a nomaden, I lived in Sumatera for four years then I moved to Kalimantan for six years. So, I can say that I spent most of my years (my childhood) in Kalimantan. I moved to Yogyakarta in 2015 because I decided to went to a private school in Yogyakarta. In free time, I enjoy watching movies or reading articles/quotes on the internet. I also write poems about the cacophony within my mind. I spend my 60% of my days listening to music because it makes me happy. Music is the cure to my headache, sometimes. I play some music instruments but not the expert one, obviously. I think that’s all for today, have a nice day!

ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian and friends, my name is Alfreno Kautsar R. You guys can call me Freno. I'm 19 years old this year. This is my first time living outside of my "comfort zone" which is Jakarta. I am a 2017 graduate. Before going to college here, I went to Pelita Harapan University, taking the same course; Management undergraduate degree. I have many hobbies, including sports, starting up a business, and politics. Currently, I am the vice treasurer for the Youth Party of GOLKAR (Golongan Karya), Jakarta. The journey of my life has been a roller coaster because going into the political world at this age is not an easy thing to do. Other than that, I have a small culinary business of Japanese yakitori and a printing business back in Jakarta. I have high expectations for myself here since i have been admitted at UGM. I hope that by being here, I can develop myself into a better and much more successful person.

Hello! my name is Ghazali Muhammad, but you can call me AL. I know right... thats a big difference, but it will make Mr Adrian (our english-writing teacher) lives easier . Anyway by the way busway, I'm 18 years old now and will be 19 this November. I came from Bogor, part of Jakarta, and lived for about 6 1/2 years there to attend junior + senior highschool, the name is SMA Global Mandiri btw. My hobbies are reading novels, playing games (especially online ones), and going the the gym. I know that games and gym are the opposites, but doing when I did something that cathces my interest, once its not enough, so it became a hobby. Besides, exercise is very beneficial anyway, so why not. Soo... I think thats all from me for now, thank you.
ReplyDeleteBe careful, Al. This is only 138 words. The safest thing to do when writing comments is to aim for about 175 words so that you never fall short of the 150 minimum. This advice applies to everyone.
DeleteOkay Mr Adrian, I'll add some other things.

DeleteHello Mr.Adrian and classmates!! Introduce myself, my name is Hieronimus Agga Bomantoro or you can call me Agga. I was born in Semarang on the 9th of February 2000. I completed all my my 12 years of education in Semarang. It's an honour for me to accepted in UGM especially in FEB which is the best business school in Indonesia. Besides studying, I also love photograpy which I’am currently doing in my spare time. Photography makes me happy especially in Jogja that has a lot of good spots like street photography in Malioboro, Tugu Jojga, Keraton Jogja, and also Hutan Pinus in Bantul. On the other hand, I also play futsal as my favorite sports activity. Beside hobby I also have a small business in Semarang that is barbershop (Instagram: barbercornerofficial/Google: Barber Corner Semarang) which requires me to go home almost every week. I hope your Guinea Pigs will be your most memorable class!!
ReplyDeleteHello everyone. My name is Sophie Kirana, you can call me Sophie. I was born in Yogyakarta, August 5th 2000. I really love dancing. My first dancing class was ballet. It was super fun to do that every Tuesday and Thursday after school. And I also joined traditional dance group in my elementary school every Saturday. So, I had three days of dancing classes in a week when I was in elementary school, and I loved it. In high school, I joined modern dance group that is consisted of eight girls, including me. We won several competitions and it was a delightful feeling to be part of the group. Other than dancing, I love sport too. I used to have swimming lesson every Sunday when I was in elementary school. And now I am currently interested in golf, yet I am still learning. These activities keep me happy and healthy. That is all about me and what I like to do. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, my name is Lisa. I was born in Toulouse in the South of France on the 12th March 1999. Once I graduated from high school I started studying at Toulouse Business School and I chose to do my third year of Bachelor here in Yogyakarta as part of a double degree program. Last year I’ve studied during one semester at the University Diego Portales in Chile. I’ve really enjoyed this experience that’s why I chose to come to Indonesia this year. During my first two years of studies I’ve also had the opportunity to realize two internships, one in Tenerife, Spain and the other one in Moldova. I really like to travel because it allows me to discover new cultures and new ways of life and this is my first time in Asia, so I hope this year I will discover a lot about Indonesia. I also hope I will be able to discover other countries of South East Asia during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteHello, My name's Shamil Taufiqurrahman but I prefer being called Taufiq. I was born in Jakarta in the 8th of March 2000 and I'm currently studying in University of Gadjah Mada with a major in Accounting. I studied in Jakarta for my Primary and Junior High years and later moved to Tangerang Selatan during my high school years to study at Insan Cendekia Madani Boarding School Development where i spent the next 3 years living in a dorm. During my boarding school days I rarely go back to Jakarta even though it was not that far, because my free time is very heavily monitored and I can only go out of the school for 2 days every month, but on the bright side as a result my friends and I became a very tight-knit group. I usually spend my time hanging out with friends, the only hobby I have is drawing but I haven't actually practiced in quite a while. I was very surprised I was actually accepted at UGM because truth be told I was pretty much doing the tests and interviews with a hint of seriousness and pretty much treating it like joke, but even then I am proud to be a student of UGM.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, my name is Citra Aulia Ramadhanty but you can call me Citra. Even though I was born in Jakarta, 2nd December 2000, I have lived most of my life in Bekasi. I have a younger brother named Raihan who is now attending the same middle school as I did, which is Labschool Cibubur. I also attended high school there. Now, I’m studying accounting as an undergraduate student at Faculty of Economics and Business University of Gadjah Mada. My hobbies consist of listening to music, singing, dancing, and sleeping (?). I can knit and play easy chords on guitar. I used to be good in mathematics since I got perfect score in my elementary and middle school’s National Exam. When I was in high school, I didn’t know what I want to be in the future, so I just follow my mom’s footsteps to study accounting. But since now I got accepted into the best business school in Indonesia, I will try to do my best and make my parents proud.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, my name is Pascal Nathanael but you can call me Pascal. I was born in Jakarta, April 20th 2000 and stayed in Jakarta until I graduated high school. My house is at Tebet, South Jakarta. I studied at Tirtamarta BPK Penabur, Pondok Indah for 12 years. That means I studied there starting from elementary school until I graduated high school. I am the only child so I hang out with my friends more often. My father is a doctor and my mother is a private teacher. Now I am studying in the Faculty of Economics and Business? University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta. Eventhough I was also accepted in University of Indonesia (UI), I chose to study at UGM so I can learn to be more independent. And it turns out that I chose the best Faculty of Economics and Business in Indonesia. I am proud and will do the best on my education.
ReplyDeletePascal wrote: "Eventhough I was also accepted in University of Indonesia (UI), I chose to study at UGM so I can learn to be more independent."
DeleteI think this is a good plan. When I was 18 years old and got accepted by my university in another city, I was so very happy to get the chance to move away from home and start a new life on my own. It's not that I did not love my family; I simply enkoyed the start of a new chapter in my life.
Hello readers!. My name is Heikal Aurel Nunzi but people usually calls me Heikal. I'm 17 years old, and I was born in Jakarta and I grew up also in Jakarta. When UGM accepted me as one of their students I am very much aware that this opportunity will not come twice so I'll make the most out of it. A little bit more about myself, I love jazz music very much because the way it plays and I also play jazz piano so it makes me even more appreciate jazz. A grammy award-winning movie once said in its dialogue that "jazz is dying", well then it is absolutely wrong because there are so many jazz festival around the world that has attracted many young generation and interesting fact, hip-hop is coming from Jazz too. I also like watching football especially when 'The Reds' or Liverpool plays. I first watched a football match when I was in the kindergarten it was UCL final between Liverpool v AC Milan. So if you like playing Jazz music just let me know and we will jam together.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! I’m Tara Putri Pradita Vialma and you can call me Tara, and i’m from the Guinea Pigs class on mondays. I am a student majoring in Accounting at Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, hoping to be a successful accountant later on. I was born on first of March 2001 in Palembang, but moved to Tangerang in 2012 when i started in middle school in Binus School Serpong, which is also my high school, majoring in Socials back then. I have 2 siblings; one older sister and one younger brother. My sister is currently studying in Universitas Moestopo, while my brother is an elementary school student in Binus Serpong as well. They both still live in Tangerang with my parents, while i moved here in Yogyakarta to study at UGM. My hobbies are watching movies for entertainment, eating, as well as sleeping. I know, 0 productivity when i have free time haha. I think that’s all about me, thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian and all of my friends, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Francis Xavier Setyadharma, but you can call me Francis. I am from the EWS Monday class. I am 17 years old, I was born in Yogyakarta, 10 September 2000. I lived my whole life here at Yogyakarta. I have a little brother, his name is Joshia. I graduated from Bopkri Satu Senior High School, which is located not that far from UGM. Now, I’m studying management at UGM’s faculty of economics which is weird because I’m from a science class at high school, I think I would go and study engineering if I have not study here at FEB. I consider myself to be very friendly. I love watching football, especially the Bundesliga from Germany, I am a FC Bayern fan. Interesting fact about me, I like watching football but I never play it, I prefer playing futsal as my hobby. My other hobbies are watching movies, traveling, and playing video games. Okay, I think that’s all about me, thank you for reading this post, and I would like to see you all soon.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian! I’m Salsabila Khairunnisa, a student from your Tuesday class. People usually call me Salsa, yes, a very common name. But that’s okay, infact, I consider it as an advantage as people are more likely to remember my name. I am originally from Jakarta although I have some relatives living nearby and I mostly spend my lebaran holiday coming to Jogja. Like most newcomers coming to Jogja, I chose this city for its diversity and culture. I chose Jogja also to experience the actual sensation of living far from home, far from my usual routines, and most importantly to get out of my comfort zone. It has not yet been a month here and I do still feel like this whole moving out thing is strange but Jogja has its own story to tell and I’m down to listen. The first time I got here, it somehow felt like I was welcomed very warmly and very kindly. Making me affirmative of the step I took, the step that I hope will get me further. So, by being accepted in the Faculty of Economics and Business of UGM, the best university in Indonesia with its international accreditation though you would probably still have your opinions about this since UI is ranked to be the first, I am very certain that I have no reason to look back but to keep on looking forward for new adventures awaits.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! My name is Ninda Aulia and I go by Ninda, not Dinda nor Winda nor Linda. I was born on the 7th December 2000 so I am currently 17 years old. I am originally from Aceh but I spent almost half of my life in Qatar, a small country in the Middle East. One of my hobbies is dancing and I’ve been dancing since I was in kindergarten. I really enjoy traditional dances especially the one from Aceh such as Ratoeh Jaroe; usually mistaken as Saman dance, which is one of Indonesia’s treasure that is recognized worldwide. I was a member of an Indonesian dancing group in Qatar and we used to perform Ratoeh Jaroe at various events and festivals where there are people from different nationalities watching. Every time we perform this dance, it never fails to amaze the audience and that made me really proud as an Indonesian because we have such a rich cultural heritage.
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. Adrian, my name is Erica Dwi Wiranti Tanra, but you can call me Erica. I am one of your guinea pigs! I was born in Jakarta on the 12th of august 2000. And yes, I just turned 18! I have a little brother named Daniel. And I had a big sister named Jennifer. Unfortunately, my sister past away when she was only 4 years old. Since then my mom and dad have always been over protective towards me and my little brother. I dont blame them, I would be over protective too if I lost a child. I have lived in Jakarta for the most of my life. So, to move here in Yogyakarta is challenging but at the same time exciting! I'm looking forward to new experiences and making new friends along the way. I am very proud to be accepted in IUP FEB UGM. Honestly, I was kind of shocked that I was accepted in IUP FEB UGM, because I was not that smart in high school. So far the most amazing thing I discovered in Yogyakarta is Sate Klatak. Sate Klatak is quite different from other satay dishes because it uses salt and pepper as its seasoning and served with curry. The unique thing about Sate Klatak is the skewers used to cook the satay are made of iron, unlike other satays which use bamboo skewers. As you can see I am a foodie! Besides eating, I also love to travel. I'm looking forward to visiting the Prambanan and Borobudur Temple, I have heard many stories about how beautiful the temples are.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone!! I’m Raden Roro Niken Kusumastuti Kartika Muliawijati, Niken to be short (yes I know, I have a really long name). I was born in Bekasi on 22nd of June, but I had to move to Balikpapan when I was 3. From kindergarten to junior high, I was in KPS (Kontraktor Production Sharing), it is a pretty well-known private school in Balikpapan. When I graduated junior high, thankfully I got accepted to SMAN 1 Balikpapan. I had to adapt to the new environment and circumstances, because private schools and public schools are so different. The fact that I spent 10 years in KPS, I knew each and every one of them, we’re literally family. Although the majority of my KPS friends also got accepted to the same high school I was in, we were put into different classes, and SMAN 1 Balikpapan is a really big school so it didn’t do much help. But now that I think about it, I’m really grateful we weren’t put in the same class, because it really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I met lots of people that are actually so genuine, also the fact that right now I barely know anyone in this University I had to come out of my comfort zone again but I know I can do it because I’ve been through the same thing when I started high school. So yeah I’m forever grateful for it. Oh and I'm in Mr. Adrian's Tuesday Class (THE PERFECT CLASS yes let me repeat that again the PERFECT class). That was a joke okay don’t take it personal, have a nice day!!

Good day everyone, my name is Dzaki Gumilang Nurrachmat Trimulyono and I attended Binus School Serpong located in the suburbs of South Tangerang and currently I’m taking the economics program in the faculty of economics and business at Universitas Gajah Mada. Im not the type of guy that is ambitious in my academics, but I would like to explain a little bit about my academic goals anyway. I have three main goals that I have planned to achieve since I entered my first year in university. Firstly, I hope that my GPA will constantly remain above 3.5 so that I can pursue my second goal which is to be able to enroll myself in the double degree program at Erasmus university in the Netherlands, taking the management major. If I am able to pursue my second degree, I will be packed with enough skills and knowledge and as I graduate myself from Universitas Gajah Mada, it will help me a lot to find a job. Last but not least, my final goal is to make myself a better person than before, and as such, I hope that I can manage my time more wisely, organizing based on my priorities. (By the way I'm Dzaki from your tuesday class)
ReplyDeleteDzaki wrote: "If I am able to pursue my second degree, I will be packed with enough skills and knowledge and as I graduate myself from Universitas Gajah Mada, it will help me a lot to find a job."
DeleteA person cannot graduate herself or himself from university. You cannot graduate yourself from university. In fact, personally, I don't think a university can graduate you, or at least this is not the conventional way to express this idea.
This podcast suggests that I might not be right about that...
https://tinyurl.com/yctc2c26
I think "graduate", the way you are trying to use it, is an intransitive verb [meaning it does not have an object, like to arrive, to sit, to die]: you VERB = you graduated. After that you need the preposition "from", as in: "from university".
If you listen to the podcast at the link above you will hear about this.
"To graduate" can be used as a transitive verb (meaning it has an object) like this: "Cambridge university graduated me in 1986". But, to be honest, I would never feel comfortable writing this. It sounds very awkward and uncommon.
So in your text above, I suggest you delete "myself".
Hello Mr. Adrian and fellow EWS students, my name’s Kamila Nurmafira Kusumaningdyah and I go by the nickname Mila. I was born in Jakarta, December 16th 2000. I am the youngest of my siblings and I have a cool brother and two loving sisters. I have lived in Jakarta my entire life although I am a hundred percent Javanese descent. The courses I joined was KUMON, LIA, Bintang Pelajar, SUN Education, violin course, piano course, swimming couse, private tutoring, etc. Although it was sometimes tiring, my mother was always right by my side to support me and to cheer me up. I chose accounting major because of my interest in mathematics and social studies, in addition I’m also inspired by my father as he is also a public accountant and I would like to follow his foot steps not because I forced to it but because he is a great father and leader to be look forward to. My hobbies are travelling, exercising and listening to musics. I’m a family oriented person so I spent most of my time with my loved ones and moving to Yogyakarta is a big decision for me as I am stepping out of my comfort zone. After high school, I had planned to continue my studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business in the University of Indonesia, but I wasn't admitted there. As a result, I went to UGM instead. I aspire to become a private equity analyst at The Carlyle Group after graduating. However, if I fail to meet the requirements needed, I might either follow my dad’s career path as a consultant or consider studying further to get a master’s degree at business administration (MBA) from Wharton or Harvard Business School. I personally think my dreams are unrealistic, but someone I knew said “reach for the stars, if you miss you’ll arrive at the moon” so I just decided to pursue whatever the hell I want, and make it happen. Do what you can’t; words to live by.
ReplyDeleteHello! My name is Tasya Nabila Handaru, people call me Tasya. I was born in Jakarta, 4th of August 2000. Since then I have lived in Jakarta my whole life, more specifically in South Tangerang. My dad works as a pilot in Qatar, so I don’t see him a lot. At home it’s usually me, my mom, and my 10 year old sister, Thalia. One of the reason why I chose UGM for college is because I really want to try and live alone somewhere else. Not that I hate my home, in fact I miss my mom and sister terribly. It’s just that all my life I have stayed in the same city with both of them and I feel like it’s time to start something different and become more independent. Some things I enjoy doing most are singing and make up. I always do my makeup when I’m bored. For me, it’s like doing art, because I suck at drawing and the only painting I can do is on mine or someone else’s face. I want to be a professional makeup artist one day, and learning to do special effects makeup is also in my bucket list. As for singing, I do it for fun. I love to make covers of songs but never really post them anywhere yet. That’s pretty much all about me for now, thank you!
ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Mikail Azizi Baswedan, but everyone calls me Mik, because it is much more practical and easier to say. I am the second child in my family, I have one older sister, Tia, and two younger brothers, Kaisar and Ismail. I was born in Dekalb, Illinois on the 23rd of April, 2000. I spent five years in Dekalb and then we moved to Jakarta, Indonesia in 2005. In 2016, I went to India for two years to study, leaving my family and friends in Jakarta. Even though it was tough being at a new environment, I was able to face every challenge and survived. After finishing my high school in India, I decided to go back to Indonesia and apply for universities there. Thankfully I got accepted in Gadjah Mada University in Jogja. I hope that from my experiences here in UGM, I will be successful in the future and able to achieve my goal as a leader.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr Adrian, this is Ino. I was born in Kediri, but I spent most of my childhood in Jakarta. I am the second and last child of my family and I have an older sister, who is nine years older than me. I moved to Semarang in 2009 and stayed there till I graduate highschool. After I graduate, I followed my family and moved to Yogya where I am now attending university. The reason my family moved so much is because of my dad, he works in Bank Indonesia, but is now retired. I applied for FEB UGM last year, but I was denied entry three times until I was finally accepted in my forth attempt. I am fluent in English, because the school which I went to in Semarang demanded English as a first language. My sister also attended FEB UGM and her experience with the place has influenced my decision to follow in her footsteps. I would normally describe myself as an introvert but I'm becoming more social than I was back in highschool.
ReplyDeleteIno, try to sort it out so your classroom name - or some version of it - comes up when you post and not "Unknown". This first post is OK, but later the name "Unknown" is going to make it quite difficult to identify and count your posts.
DeleteHi everyone, my name is Rayhan Prasetyo Errando from the Guinea Pigs Class. I was born in Medan on 16th of May 2000. When I was just one year old, my family and I moved to Sidoarjo. It is a small town located near Surabaya, East Java. I lived there for six years, so I do have a little knowledge in Javanese language. When I was 7 years old, my family and I moved to Jakarta and have lived there ever since. I always enjoy sleeping and swimming and consider it as my hobby, but then I realized something. The only living creature on Earth that enjoys sleeping and swimming is hippopotamus. So I would like to be more active in my college years in Gadjah Mada University, the best university in Indonesia. I am currently majoring in Accounting and I’m looking forward to continue my study in Erasmus University, so wish me luck everyone who reads this.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian and everyone in the EWS Class! My name is Chelsea Novesencio Matra, but you can just call me Chelsea. I’m from the Wednesday class, or as Mr. Adrian likes to call ‘Boredom Setting in’ Class. I was born in Jakarta, but was raised in Bekasi my whole life. In fact, I've never been to anywhere else in Indonesia except Jakarta and Bekasi, so to move out and study in Jogja was a huge step for me. I don’t regret it at all though, I love being a part of the UGM community and I’ve met so many wonderful people here. Even though I’ve only been here for about two weeks or so, I’m in love with the city. There are all sorts of sights and views to see in Jogja and it’s so rich of Indonesian culture. It’s so different from Jakarta, the city that never sleeps, it’s such a nice change. I’m excited for the next four years at my time in Jogja and UGM, as well as (hopefully) getting to know all of you!
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. Adrian and hello everyone! My name is Medina Auradanty from Thursday's EWS Class. People usually call me Medina or Med for short. I was born in Jakarta on the 3rd of September 1999. I have lived in Jakarta since then. I have two older sisters, both already have a job in Jakarta. I am a student majoring in Business at the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada. I spent my junior and high school years at Labschool Jakarta majoring in science. After high school, I decided that I wanted to go to one of the colleges in Indonesia, so I apply for Universitas Gadjah Mada. I chose UGM because my oldest sister use to go here and also majoring in Business and since then I have wanted to follow her path. My hobbies are reading novels and swimming. After I graduated my study at Universitas Gadjah Mada, I planned to continue my study taking master in the United Kingdom and becoming a successful entrepreneur in the future.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! My name is Annisa Prasetyoningtyas but you're free to call me Nisa or Nis. I'm currently attending the Wednesday's EWS Class or commonly known as "The Boredom Creeping In Class". I was born in Jakarta on the evening of November 8 2000 two two loving parents and happened to be the youngest of two. My Dad is a mechanical engineer mainly working with the Indonesian National Armed Forces while my mom is a wonderful housewife (read: excellent cook). My older brother is a doctor in the making, currently studying in University of Indonesia. As for me, I'm currently enrolled in Gadjah Mada University's Faculty of Economics and Business with a major in Accounting. At first I didn't intend to enroll here but luckily got accepted and somehow finalized my decision to study here after some further discussions with my parents. Previously, I also didn't have accounting as a major in mind but I'm willing to study it by virtue of my Uncle who's a tax consultant. I didn't set my future goals forthwith, instead I'm still trying to figure out what i want to do for a career and I hope that during this four-year journey in Gadjah Mada University, things would eventually fall into place and that I could finally apprehend what I want to do some time in the future. Nevertheless, I think that Accounting is a very safe career choice and has a very positive outlook. They say the time and energy devoted to learning it are more than worth it. Okay, as to my hobbies, I usually spend my leisure time with watching movies of various genres depending on my mood and read books, generally novels with storylines i found interesting. That's pretty much it and thanks.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian and my fellow “comrade-in-arms” classmates. My full name is Muhammad Raihan Wibowo, but you will probably call me Rainbow in class. I was born in Kediri 14th of July in the year of 2000. I went to Al Azhar Islamic High School in Jakarta where I took the science major class. To be honest, I didn’t expect that I would take accounting as my major in the university. At first, I wanted to take engineering major in Institute of Technology Bandung and dreamt to become a plane engineer. But in the last few months of my third high school year, I would always ask this question to myself, “Is this really what I wanted?” So I asked my parents and my sister as to what major should I choose until I got the conclusion that this is what I really wanted, to be an accounting student. And honestly, I never regret my decision. As to my hobbies, I really like to watch crime genre film and read some crime related novel. So if you have some recommendation, I will be very delighted to see or read it.
ReplyDeleteWarm greetings to Mr. Adrian and my fellow classmates. First of all let me introduce myself, my name is Muhammad Hassya Santoso but you can call me Hassya for short. I was born on the 25th of September 2000 in in Pekanbaru Indonesia. I am a recently admitted college student at the University of Gadjah Mada at the Faculty of Economics and Business , specifically majoring in management. Ever since around the 6th grade I had an interest in the world of finance and business. And it has always impressed me how one person is able to make a lot of money but also contribute to society and open up opportunities for other people. This deed and dream so far I have found only achievable by an entrepreneur and no other profession. By studying management at the University of Gadjah Mada, I hope to be able to make that dream come true and be that positive change within the world.
ReplyDeleteIn another light I describe myself as a multiculturalists. By this I mean to define myself as a person who recognizes and supports the equal rights and opportunity of different cultural and racial groups, but of course they all have to be positive. Some might wonder "Well why is that?" , as originally I am of Javanese descent. It is because I am a person who has always been submerged in a community of diverse cultures. When I lived in Sumatra I was surrounded by many people from the Batak, Padang and Malay tribe. After that I had the opportunity to move to St.John's a city in the far eastern seaboard of Canada. While spending my time there I had the opportunity to interact with people from eastern Europe to the Caribbean and every country in between. When I moved back to Indonesia, I was welcomed to the very vibrant city of Jakarta. As the beating heart of Indonesia, people from far and wide in the archipelago come to seek better opportunities in the city. From there I was then introduced to people from different backgrounds not only Indonesian but some mixed with foreign background also. From all these events I have been lucky enough to experience, it has made me appreciate the difference that we have and pushes me to empower each other so that we can reach a higher meaning as human beings.
Hello Mr. Adrian. My name is Juan Claudeo Arivisian Wiryawan but everyone calls me Deo as my nickname. I was born in a small city called Kudus in June 14th 2000. I lived there for 15 year and in 2015, I was moved to Semarang in purpose to continue my study in Loyola College Senior High school. After that, in 2018, I choose Gadjah Mada university in Jogjakarta as Economics students now. actually, Gadjah Mada University is not my first choice. Short story, first university that I choose before is prasetiya mulya university, but I can’t passed the test at that time. So, my parents and me decide not to choose that major, because we think it is not my ability. That decision makes me confused to take another major beside business or economics (for your information, in my senior high school, I took science program, so that’s why we think if business or economics is not my ability anymore). Because I'm really confused what major should I choose beside that, I take a fingerprints test to show what is my real ability. And the test shows that my real ability is in linguistics, relations, and mathematics. It means, that's a great choice if I choose business or economics as my major. But, of course, I’m not an easy person to believe that, and I try to match the results into myself. I like speaking in front of people and it’s not easy for me to study another language that’s why I believe that my linguistics is the best ability that I have. I can adapt so fast in the new situation. So, it’s not such a hard thing to have a lot of relations in my school. That’s why I can say if I have a relations prowess. For the mathematics, I often get a good score in mathematics when I was in senior high school. Thus, I should say, if the result of the test is quite believeable. therefore, my mother support me to try business and economics major again in another university. Ergo, I took IUP for economics in Gadjah Mada University, then I can pass that test and join in this university.
ReplyDeleteHello there to whoever is reading this comment, my name is Kayandra Athayya Sasdiyarto, but you can just call me Kay or ‘Kai’. I was born in Jakarta, September 13th, 2000 which turns me 18 next month, gaining rights as a legal adult. My hobbies include: listening to music especially the kpop and western pop genres, hanging out with my friends, modern dancing, playing online games and watching Netflix original series or movies. My family consists of four members: older sister currently studying law in the same university, mother and father who are graduates from UGM and UI respectively. People often describe me to have a really bright and fun personality that can get along with almost everybody, and some people also love to pour heart-to-heart talks with me since they found me as an attentive listener and a good advisor. Management is the only major in UGM’s Faculty of Economics and Business that I love since I aim to be a great leader who can not only lead people, but to also encourage them to have passion in any work or activities they do in their professional lives.
ReplyDeleteFor my first ever comment on this blog, I am going to tell the readers a little bit about me. My name is Azani Ayu Rahman but most of my friends and family call me Azani or Janed. My parents have four children and I am the third one. I was born on April 30th, 2000 and I have spent almost all of my 18 years living in Semarang until I moved here to continue my study in University of Gadjah Mada majoring in IUP Accounting of Faculty of Economics and Business. I believe I am the only person from my senior high school which is SMA Negeri 1 Semarang to enter this faculty in 2018 but that was not a problem to me because that means I can make a lot of friends, not only from Indonesia but also accross the world. For hobbies, I love to read a lot of books, especially the ones consisting mythology inside. Also, I love to watch movies, listen to musics, play video games, and many other things.
ReplyDeleteHola, Hallo, Ciao, Halo and Hello everybody! Five different ways to say hello, which represents the five different languages I speak or try to speak (referring to my Bahasa Indonesia).
ReplyDeleteAnyways, let me start from the beginning. My name is Marcela Salandra and I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in a small country in Central America called El Salvador. I am the fourth child in a family of seven children. An interesting fact about my family is that all my siblings are spread around the world (If you are interested to know where, just comment down bellow). My Father is Italian; therefore, I have an Italian Nationality and a huge appetite. After my high school graduation I move to Germany for a Voluntary Year of Social Service in a Catholic Community. After that year, I stayed in Germany for studying Business Administration and International Marketing. Since January I have been doing a Double Degree in the Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta and I love it. I can describe myself as an adventurous, physically and mentally active person. My hobbies are doing puzzles, exercising, hiking and traveling. However, my truly passion is diving. The quote that more inspires me and I like to follow is: “Greatness begins beyond your comfort zone”.
This is a short introduction about me, I hope you like it and if you want to know anything else I will be glad to answer you.
Hello Mr Adrian and everyone! My name is Thomas Gamaliel Teguh Pribadi, although I've got a few nicknames, calling me Thomas is fine. I was born in Bandung on the 27th of April 2001. A few years later my family moved to Kuwait, a country which I then stayed in for over 12 years. Despite this, my Arabic speaking and writing skill is pretty close to non-existent. However I did learn to speak Tagalog while I was there since I went to a school under a Filipino curriculum. I only moved to Malang about 5 years ago to start and finish high school. I am now an undergraduate in University of Gadjah Mada taking Accounting as my major. I have only been to Yogyakarta a few times before becoming a student of UGM so hopefully I get to learn quite a bit more about Yogyakarta, most especially its culinary aspects.

Now I have to leave my hometown to live in Jogja. Living in a new environment is challenging and I am looking forward for things to come. I graduated from a local high school which is SMAN 1 Kediri. Now I’m currently studying at the Business Department at Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada. I am the second of two and my brother is currently studying at UGM in IUP International Relations Department. Me and my teammates achieved the 3rd overall champion at the Kejurprov in 2014.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! In short you may call me Titto. I’m in my senior years of economics department (yeah I know senior year.) The story is that this is actually my second time taking the EWS class (Oh yeah, I’m back for an A.) The things is, I’m a bit ashamed for letting all you guys know that I’m a senior, unfortunately Adrian has uncovered my secret identity on last week’s class. Well, I come from Surabaya, but then believe me, you guys will found Yogyakarta as your new home. I’m surely older than any of you here (except for Adrian) but hey I’m not that old ha-ha! Though I don’t really have any hobby, since I considered myself only for liking some stuffs, I organized some independent music scene here in Yogyakarta in a collective organization called Terror Weekend and PALAWA. If any of you interested in Indonesian indie band (or at least you have passion in music) we may share some similar stuffs that we like outside the class—we are open for freshman recruits!) so yeah I thinks that’s enough for my introduction, and I’ll see you guys around more often I guess.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian, hello to all of my classmates, and also hello world! I would like to begin by introducing myself. My name is Muhammad Andika Rafianto and people usually call me Dika or Andika. I was born in Jakarta on January 28th, 2000 and I’m the second child in a total of three children in my family. My younger brother is not really younger than me because he is actually my twin brother. He also got accepted in UGM, the difference is that he chose computer science as his major while I chose accounting as mine. Some interesting story, I have never even once thought that my dream is to become an accountant before. When I was still in the early year of high school, I wanted to be a graphic designer because I really love to draw and design things. Long story short after I watched a movie called The Accountant starring Ben Affleck I started to think that being an accountant is pretty cool. I started to do some research about accounting work prospects and finally got accepted at UGM. I was so happy and thankful when I saw the announcement. In my time studying at UGM I would like to reduce or even overcome this bad habit of mine, that is to procrastinate. I want to be a better person than I was in high school. That is all for now and have a nice day!

Currently I take management as my major. I am from Jakarta, the south part of it to be precise. I was born and had lived there all my life, until now. Before Universitas Gadjah Mada, I went to SMA Negeri 8 Jakarta which is really famous for our flooded location. Yes, I know it may sounds peculiar but my high school is literally seated on the banks of Ciliwung River. It has been a honor for me to be accepted in Universitas Gadjah Mada, which has one of the best international program in Indonesia. One the best part of being a student of Universitas Gadjah Mada is the diverse origin of its students. And it has been a great pleasure to get to know all my fellow pupils. ReplyDeleteGreetings to all of my fellow ambitious hardworking classmates and of course The Great Mr Adrian. First of all my name is Andhika Danang Dwi Permana. I was brought to this world on august 9, 2000 in a small city named Tegal. Along the years people called me different names. When I was in elementary school people called me Dhika Danang, the reason behind that was at that time there was two dhikas in the class so the teacher added danang to differentciate me and the other Dhika. In middleschool people called me danang for no apparent reason and in highschool people called me dhikdang. Other than a shortened version of the name Dhika Danang, the name Dhikdang actually has other abbreviation which is dhika gedang. The nickname Dhika Gedang which if translated to English meaning Banana Dhika actually came from what my friends thought of my hatred towards banana. Now u can call me Andhika or Dhika. I have several hobbies that I picked up growing up. Those hobbies are gaming, modelkit building, and reading. Right now I am an IUP student in Gadjah Mada University majoring in Accounting. Nice to meet you all.
ReplyDeleteHey Mr. Adrian and everyone, through this post i would like to introduce my self and bring you some boring facts about me. First of all, let me introduce my name. My name is Mochammad Daffa Trinanda, and everyone who’s close to like to call me Epo. I know thats a weird call and has nothing related to my full name, however my father told me that i used to called my self with that name when i was a baby. Aside from that, i was born in Tangerang (if i’m not mistaken), on March 7 2000. To spend my free time, i like to go to the gym, bicycling, watch NBA, and surfing tons of random stuffs on the Internet. I used to studied in High/Scope Indonesia TB Simatupang for my high school, and i’am currently a full time student studying under the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada. I have a dream to become the richest one in my extended family, so that i could show it off to all my brother and sister and most importantly to be able to benefits those who is important to me. ReplyDeleteHi Mr Adrian and everyone else reading this, I'm Chika Erizka from Who are these people? Thursday class. I’m an accounting student at FEB UGM. I was born in Jakarta on 14th of January 2000. My previous school was Global Mandiri located in Cibubur, the place where i grew up. I choose the faculty of economics & business because i’m inspired to be a successful accountant someday, even though my previous dream profession was to become a chef. On weekends i like to eat out on different restaurants or hunt for street foods because i enjoy food tasting & culinary. Beside that, i also like traveling. I like to explore new places, hunt for pictures & collect memories. Not only that, by traveling we could get to know new people, explore it's cultures & spread knowledge about our own country. My dream trip would be New Zealand because i want to try their fresh salmon & visit the Milford Sound.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Mr. Adrian and all the readers! Let me introduce myself here in this comment section. My full name is Umirul Iffa Daniswari, but you guys can call me Irul. I know it’s a rare nickname, especially for a girl. You can find most of people named Irul out there are boys. But, well, my grandfather wanted me to be called Irul, so, let’s just accept it. I was born in Jakarta on May twelfth, but has been living in another province which is Banten, specifically Bintaro, South Tangerang. I have an interest in art, especially classical piano which I have learned since I was eight, but economics and accounting catches my interest also, so I decided to take Accounting as my major in FEB UGM. Being in Yogyakarta is actually not a new thing for me, because my family from my mother’s side came from here. So, since I was a child, once every year was a must for me to visit Yogya since my relatives live there. I really hope I can be a better person in the future so that I can make my parents proud.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Vinsensa Vitalonga Utomo, and my friends call me Vinsa. My friends know me as an individual with an outgoing personality. I was born in Depok, on 12th of February 2000 and has been living there since. My family of 4 consists of me, my dad, my mom, and my younger brother, who is 3 years younger. I enjoy reading books, listening to music, and to hangout with my peers. Universitas Gadjah Mada has been my dream school ever since highschool. Before I got in, I applied on the first intake. While the first intake didnt go so well, I worked hard to make sure I was admitted on the second one. I took economics as my major because that is my passion. I look forward to learn further and to expand my connections as I plan to finish my studies as soon as possible, to land a job so that I could make a living for myself.
ReplyDeleteVinsa wrote: "Universitas Gadjah Mada has been my dream school ever since highschool."
DeleteI looked it up to make sure! "High school" is two words not one.
There are three types of compound words...
Definition: A compound word is formed when two or more words join to form a new word that has its own meaning. Although compound words are often written as single words (such as teapot), sometimes they are not. That’s why it is important to understand that there are three types of compound words: closed compounds, hyphenated compounds, and open compounds. Let’s take a look at each of them:
Closed Compounds definition: compounds written as single words (newspaper, goldfish, highway)
Hyphenated Compounds definition: compounds that are hyphenated (mother-in-law, second-rate, court-martial)
Open Compounds definition: compounds written as separate words (end zone, high school, health care)

I am the third son of four siblings. I have one elder brother, one elder sister and one younger brother. I am a student majoring in Economics at Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada. I consider myself to be an introvert person cause i am not really good at making friends but i am looking forward to having some close friends here in Universitas Gadjah Mada. I really love playing video games especially DOTA 2, I even wanted to be an esport player before i decided to go to university but of course my parents wouldn’t let me so here i am studying at FEB UGM. I hope you can get to know me more from this comment. Thank you.

DeleteIt is worth getting into a habit of doing the following...
Write "the" in front of "Faculty" when you write it out in full like you have.
Then put "(FEB)" after it so that you don't have to keep writing it out in full each time.
Use "at" rather than "of" to connect FEB to the University (the way you wrote it is not an error, but my suggestion sounds better).
And then write "(UGM)" after "Universitas Gadjah Mada" for the same reason you did it with FEB.
In your academic writing you will refering to institutions and theories etc. with acronyms like these, so it's a good habit to get into.
So...
"I am a student majoring in Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)."
Greetings, Mr. Adrian! My name is Rizkya Welerina. People usually call me Kiya. I am 18 years old. People always wondering about my last name “Welerina”. My last name actually came from a city name in Central Java. I’m a part of your Tuesday class or known as the perfect class. I was born on Semarang, 25th of March, 2000. I am an International Undergraduate student at Faculty of Economics and Business majoring in International Accounting at Universitas Gadjah Mada. My house is pretty far from the University. Approximately, it takes for about 30 – 45 minutes to reach UGM from my house. My hobby is playing games and travelling. I like playing games because my brother is also playing games. Sometimes, I like to play music instruments on my spare time. I could play piano and drums but not expert at it. My family consists of 5 person. I have one older brother and one younger brother. I’m the only daughter in my family.
ReplyDeleteKiya wrote: "I’m a part of your Tuesday class or known as the perfect class."
DeleteThere is an issue of capitalization here.
"The Perfect Class" is the official title of the Tuesday class, so it should be capitalized.
If you don't capitalize the name of the class, it means something different; it suggests that the class is perfect... which it's not!
Remember, I call it The Perfect Class because I am perfect on a Tuesday (after testing myself on The Guinea Pig Class on a Monday), and I call the Tuesday class "The Perfect Class" despite the fact that the students in it are clearly imperfect!

DeleteHello everyone. My name is Anfasa Muhammad Akmal, Fasa for short. I was born in Serang, Banten but grew up in Doha, Qatar where I’ve spent 14 years of my life. I have two other siblings, a sister and a brother with me being the eldest. I studied in Qatar International School from the first grade until twelfth grade, or in other words I spent my whole life in one same school. I graduated in 2016 which means I took two gap years hence why I am 19 years old in a 2018 batch (20 this November). Graduating from school was a bittersweet moment of my life, from one angle I felt free from all the burden of school, but on the other hand I knew it meant everyone would start separating and going on their own paths. One of my favourite things to do is cruising around or going on road trips, preferably to natural attractions. So, moving back to Indonesia was a great decision since I have lots of opportunities to do that unlike Qatar. My next plan is to visit Semarang, a three hours trip from Jogja.
ReplyDeleteAnfasa wrote: "My next plan is to visit Semarang, a three hours trip from Jogja."
DeleteCompare...
The trip took three hours (hours is plural)
It was a three hour trip (when "three hour" is like an adjective modifying "trip", it isn't plural).

IUP is a four year course. These fours years will be very challenging.
I have a five minute meditation session every morning. I spend five minutes meditating.
Hello everyone, my name is Hendrawan Dhanes Sudibyo. Most of my friend call Hendrawan. I was born in Jakarta at 24 July 2000 and I the first child of two. I have a sister name ica, she is thirteen years old and right now she is study at SMPN 5 Yogyakarta. I moved between cities a lot because my father job. My father work at a bank name Bank Rakyat Indonesia and right now he is place at main office at Jakarta. Before to Yogyakarta I have been moved at several cities, some of it is Bandung, Palu, Kendari, Ende, Singaraja, and Surabaya. So you can say I already went to half the country. I have met many people throughout my time in every city. It’s definitely not easy for me to adapt to every single city I went and it certainly hard to me to leave my friend behind. But in the end I have a lot of happy memory.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian, my name is Erica Dwi Wiranti Tanra. On the previous comment, I have talked about where I'm from, my birthday, my siblings, and also sate klatak! Well, since you already know a little about me, how about knowing me a little bit more? I'm from SMA Labschool Cibubur. And when I was a senior, I went to the United States with my friends and teachers to attend the anual Youth Assembly at the United Nations. It was a 12 days trip. On the first day, we visited Boston. It was beautiful there. We went to Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT to be short. The campus was big and beautiful, but to be honest it was not the experience that I imagined it would be. I imagined that I would see a new technology that I never seen before, because I heard that MIT are filled with new technology that have not been publicly announced. On the second day, we visited Harvard University. The buildings were kind of vintage and rustic, but Harvard was beutiful in its own way. I also bought Harvard merchandise for my friends and family. After eating a lot of Dunkin, we went to Philadelphia the next day. To be honest, there was nothing really special in Philadelphia except the Philly Cheesesteak. Philly Cheesesteak is basically a sandwich made out of sliced pieces of steak and melted cheese in a long sandwich bread. After two days in Philadelphia, we went to Washington, DC, the United States capital. We went to the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia on the first day. The next two days, we visited the museums in Washington. All of the museums we went to were beautiful, but my favorite one was the National Gallery of Art. After Washington we went to the city of New York, often called NYC. New York was the best city out of all the city we visited. We went shopping at times square. We also visited the NBC studio and went to the set of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It was great, but it would be amazing if we met Jimmy Fallon himself. We even walked on the famous fifth avenue! It was everything that I imagined it would be. On the last three days, we attend the Youth Assembly at the United Nations headquarters. In the event we met people from all around the world. I loved it there, because all of us can be friends although there are so much differences between us. I also learned about the crisis all over the world. The one that got me the most was about plastic waste. Plastic have been blamed for causing floods, backing up wastewater treatment centers and clogging pipes. More than 40 countries either tax, limit or ban plastic bags. If you travel to Europe in 2019, you won’t be able to get one for free. By 2050, the United Nations estimates, there will be more plastic by weight in the world’s oceans than fish. And Yamen would be the first country without water in 2050. After I heard these facts, I was disgusted with myself for using plastic, especially plastic bags, all my life. From that event, I promised myself not to use plastic bags anymore. From this trip I have learned so much and I am willing to help the environment as much as I can. Overall, I had a great time at the United States.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, my name is Muhamad Naufal Muzaqi Lubis (I simply don’t know why my parents gave me Muhamad instead of Muhammad) and I come from your Friday class. I was born and raised in Tangerang and spend most of all my activities there. When I was 6 years old, I accompanied my mom to pursue her master’s degree in UGM. The magister management program to be precise. I am graduated from Binus School Serpong and I spent 5 years there (from grade 8 up until I finally graduated) before, I spent my primary school and the first year of middle school in Islamic Village School and I move to Binus for a private reason that only my parents and I are those who knew the reason. The reason why I choose UGM to continue my study to the higher level is purely because UGM is the best business school in Indonesia. Eventhough that I also took SBMPTN after the announcement of this program that I am accepted and I also got accepted in UNPAD but I still decided to pursue my bachelors degree here. Besides studying which is a must for every students. I am also love to play games like Counter Strike, FIFA, DOTA etc. Also sometimes I make short videos and took photos of a scenery, food or being asked to took a picture of someone. I look forward for the experience in this class with u guys and Mr Adrian. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! My name is Ranindya Diva Rania but I usually go by Diva. Right now I am 18 years old but I will be turning 19 on December 4th. I was born and raised in Bandung so I know Bandung like the back of my hand. My hobbies consist of listening to music and travelling. Even though I love travelling, I can’t stand airplane rides because turbulence makes me anxious. Moving to Yogyakarta in hope to fulfil my education, was one of the best decision I’ve ever made. I was once very skeptical and afraid to move here to Yogyakarta because I was way too attached with Bandung. I was also very scared, knowing that there are going to be a lot of changes happening in my life the moment I stepped my foot on this city. At the beginning my mind was constantly filled with overwhelming amount of anxiety and fear. But as time goes by, it turns out that living here for almost a month truly changed my perspective regarding living here. I got to experience an insane amount of diversity, which I could never fully experience back home. Ever since I moved here I have changed a lot as a person, as a friend, as a daughter, as a sister and as a student. It truly made me understand why moving here was the path I had to follow. Because in order to grow as a person and turn into the better version of myself, I need to experience those changes. Thank you and have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Mr. Adrian and friends, my name is Nadya Alexandra Kuswanto, and you can call me Nadya (as expected). I was born in a city located in Central Java, which is known as Solo on March 29th 2000. So, currently I am 18 years old. I have been living in that city with my family since I was born. I am the 2nd child in my family, I have an older sister named Claudia who also studying in this University, and a younger brother named Jonathan who currently studying abroad. Honestly, I choose to study in Gajah Mada University majoring in accounting because I love dealing with numbers (mathematics), that’s why I choose accounting as my major, the other reason is because this university is proven as the best university in Indonesia, and it makes me feel proud to become a part of this university. What I do when I have lots of free time is basically just going out somewhere with friends or staying home watching movies and youtube. That’s all , hopefully through this introduction you will know me better , looking forward for our class next week!
ReplyDeleteLectori salutem,
ReplyDeleteI’m Lima, brought to you by way of fabulous Amsterdam, Kingdom of The Netherlands. Before I moved to Yogyakarta last winter, I travelled around the world for 2 years.
After meeting all those new cultures during my journey, I decided to resign from the University of Amsterdam (Universiteit van Amsterdam, UVA) and start all over again somewhere abroad. I simply didn’t want to spend my life staying in the same place.
I have Indonesian blood flowing through my veins from both sides of my family, therefore the decision of going to Indonesia was somehow logical and easy to make. Even though Indonesia turned out to be really different than I expected, I don’t regret going here at all.
I think that both my cultural as my educational (Montessori) background made me an independent person. It made me confident enough to stand on my own feet and travel all around the globe.
Despite all this, I believe that my future is in Amsterdam, since I adore this city and its people so much. I would recommend Amsterdam to everybody. Even though it is famous for its sex and drugs industry, I believe it has many (other) beautiful things, such as the canals, the museums and the wonderful Vondelpark.
Hi everyone! My full name is Anissya Isabelle Viary, but you can call me Anissya. I've lived in Indonesia my whole life, and I enjoy living here. I'm an incredibly passionate person, especially in pursuing my dreams. I love singing and doing sports, including futsal, basketball, and floorball. My family is a huge part of my life, and I always try my best to not take them for granted. I didn't exactly plan on taking accounting as my major, but I like my university life so far. Both my parents are accounting majors, so they were thrilled when I told them I got admitted to FEB UGM, majoring in accounting. I have an elder sister who's also a student in UGM, majoring in veterinary medicine. She once told me she loves animals more than humans. Here in Jogja, we live in the same house, and it's quite interesting to say the least. She was worried that I would bother her too much if we live under the same roof, but it turned out the other way around. But I love her anyways.
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Adrian and anyone who maybe accidentally reading this. My name is Iqbal Natakusumah, but most people call me Nata. I was born on 12th May 2000. I was lived in Bandung but I have to move to Yogyakarta for better education, amen. There’s nothing much to say about me. I have two older sisters. My hobbies are playing guitar and observing something including society. My dream is to become a pilot but I can’t make my dream come true at this moment due to some reasons but I’ll work it out maybe sooner or later. I rarely travel or having a vacation and this is the first time I am away from my parents, but I really love challenges so bring it on! My first week in Yogyakarta I was having a “culture shock” or what ever people call it. Compared to Bandung, Yogyakarta is a lovely place except for the heat and the impatient people who riding a bike like they own the road or their ancestor built it, well technically maybe. I recommend that the local government need to make a social movement about the importance of safety riding and driving, other than that I’m staring to love Yogyakarta. I’m hoping that I can achieve a really good grade, perfect GPA and hopefully making my parents proud. Thank you so much, have a great day.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone and the good guy Mr. Adrien. My name is Stevan Harris Budiman, but it’s a lot easier with Paul. I suppose this EWS class is going to be the most relaxing class in the semester but then also the heaviest one, cause i've got to write often. I am not certainly used to write whatsoever, but I’ll try to. I do sports, my favourites are basketball and tennis. I prefer to be outside where we as humans can interact and enjoy this magnificent planet that we were put in. I know it’s kinda weird but I really do enjoy looking at roads, trees, clouds or just empty skies while I’m driving or just chilling by the window lane. It kinda gives me the sense of belonging to this world, like I’m supposed to be here, and then later on it gives me crazy thoughts of why ‘We’ should be here. I enjoy little details. I’m studying for bachelor majoring in Economics at FEB Universitas Gadjah Mada. Your class seems to be alright sir, looking forward to sit and enjoy the ‘End of Week Party’. And also, Yogyakarta is a special gift for me personally, I know it has only been a couple of weeks but I get those deeper feels living here than in Jakarta. Hope we all are in the right place at the right time. Good day everyone.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! My name is Muhammad Aziz Putra Akbar, but my friends call me Aziz. I was born in Jogja but raised in a small beautiful island of Lombok. I participated on a student exchange program in the Island of Sardinia, Italy. I spent a year there, starting from 2016 until 2017. I used to play cricket, badminton and tennis intensively when I was in high school. In fact, I was an active player for the school’s cricket team. However, once I got back from Italy and got busy with exam preparations on the 12th grade, I stopped doing team sports and do swimming instead. I have a wanderlust bug in me. I love to travel domestically or abroad, meeting new people, observing their unique lifestyles, witnessing the beauty of various places and understanding different cultures. I prefer on saving my money to travel instead of buying clothes. I am down to any type of travelling, this includes solo travel, group travel, going suitcase or backpacking. If I have no money to travel, I guide people for an adventurous journey and get paid for it. Well, I am a “Do-what-you-love and Love-what-you-do” believer, and this is how I manifest to it.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! My name is Ricky Fadhli Maulana, and everyone calls me Ricky for short. I am currently eighteen years old and studying in the Faculty of Economics and Business(FEB) in the University of Gadjah Mada(UGM). I lived in Jakarta for all of my life and have only experienced being away from my parents until recently. It was shocking to be living alone at first because I was privileged enough to have helpers in my house back in Jakarta. But I’m not a quitter; not anymore, I’m sure I have what it takes to thrive in Jogja. I don’t have a lot of hobbies, I fiddled with rapping for a little while in middle school and played the piano for most of my life, but I’m not that good in both of them. But with that being said, I wish to change that. I know hobbies can be very rewarding if I put my heart into it. I am also very approachable! If you see me in class or in anywhere else be sure to greet me cause I love to chat with everybody. That’s it from me, until next time!
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, my name is Pramudyo Ari Nugroho but you can call me by my nickname, Pram. I was born in Jakarta on May 7th 2000 which makes me 18 years old as of now. As I am pursuing my studies in Faculty of Economics and Business in Universitas Gadjah Mada, I am living all by myself and seperated from my parents for the first time. To be honest, it’s a very fresh challenge for me to keep studying hard but at the same time trying to be an independent person. I’m looking forward to excel and give my best to any obstacles that comes towards me, whether that be academically, socially and mentally. My hobby is to watch movies and play football. When I was younger, I used to participate in several football competitions which gives me a lot of memorable moments with my friends as well as giving new experiences to compete with a group a of people and how to work as a team. I can’t wait to start your class and learn how to write better in English. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! My name is Amirah Syanti Bermawi, people usually call me Mila. I was born in Jakarta on the 18th of August 2000, and now I'm 18 years old. I was born as an only child and have no sibling. Right now I’m learning in University of Gadjah Mada in Faculty of Business Economics, and I’m majoring in economics. My whole life, I lived in Jakarta with both of my parents. Starting from kindergarten, primary school, middle school, and high school I went to the same school. Which made me socialise with the same group of people nearly for 14 years, and since right now I’m continuing my study in University of Gadjah Mada pushes me to step out of my comfort zone and socialise with new people which is a challenge for me. I have several hobbies which are reading books, watching tv series, watching movies and listening to music.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! My name is Sabrina Kiasati from Friday Class and usually people calls me Sabrina but you can call me Sab or Sabr. I was born in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia and was raised there. This year, i moved to Yogyakarta, Central Java, Indonesia to start living by myself without my parents for the first time. I was always interested to study in Gadjah Mada University, especially because my brother tried to apply but he got rejected twice (which since the day i got accepted i know he called me stupid for nothing). The hardest thing about moving here is that i don't really eat rice, but the main food here is usually rice! Like, i can't eat Mie Ayam all the time. But now i'm used to eating the course without rice (but it'll cost you more though). Also, i'm looking forward to improve my skills and personality so that i could be a better person when i graduated from Gadjah Mada University. It's only been two weeks but there's already a lot of things that i learned here. I'm also looking forward to be studying with you, Mr. Adrian.
ReplyDeleteHello guys! My name is Nicholas Hermanto but you can call me Nicho and this is my little story about myself. I was born as second and the last son in Sleman on 27th January 2001. As some of you may already know, i am Chinese as my parents expected from their genes. Therefore i want to be an Entrepeneur to continue my parents business! What a surprise! I am sorry, let us start the real story why i am here as IUP Management student at UGM.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, when i was a child, i was obsessed with a game called Monopoly. It was a very famous board game at that time. After about two or three games with my father and my big brother, i was hooked with that game. All of that feeling when you are making money and winning made me so happy and little did i know that kind of feeling become sort of sticking with myself until now. For that reason, here i am as IUP Management student at UGM! Ofcourse with a burden in my shoulder that i am the last son and my big brother do not want to continue my father’s business so i am the one that being chosen as the descent of Lentera Jaya (My father’s electric store). But hey! I love doing business anyway and i am so thankful that God give me this beautiful family!
Hi everyone! My name is Prasarita Averilliana. You can call me Vivi. I am 19 years old and my major is Management. I was born on 3rd April 1999 in Surakarta. I graduated from SMAN 4 Surakarta. I have 2 sisters, they are 15 and 16 years old and currently pursuing an education in a high school in Solo. My hobbies are traveling especially going to the beach- as i found it very calming looking at the sea- and cooking. Recently, i like to search and discover recipes with plant-based ingredients. To my surprise, there are lots of food we can make out of plant based ingredients. Not only main course food but also desserts! I have tasted them and they taste just as delicious as the regular ones. I am not a vegetarian though, i just like to discover new things because it excites me. I chose UGM because it is the only business school in Indonesia with AACSB accreditation. Plus, Jogjakarta is not far from my hometown (Solo). I chose Management as my major because I want to be a successful entrepreneur just like my parents and my grandparent. And i hope that by studying in UGM I can contribute more to the society especially in the economic field.
ReplyDeleteHello. My name is Arya from the Wednesday class or we usually call it the boredom setting in class. I came from Kudus by the way, but i took my education in semarang, precisely in loyola college senior high school. I'm taking accounting major in faculty of economic and business UGM right now. Now, i'm going to talk about my family. My family consist of my father, my mother, me, and i also have two sisters. My first sister is taking her Master program in Institute Teknologi Bandung, and my second sister is taking her bachelor program in Apeldoorn, Netherland. I love playing basketball. I started tk play basketball when i was 14. I didn't even know why i chose basketball. I think when i was going to choose it, i just thought that i'll be a famous and cool person if i join the basketball team. Funny right. I think that's all the general things about me that you need to know. Thank you
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, my name is Aditya Virgiawan Firmanto, you can call me Adit. I was born in Yogyakarta on 3 September 2001. I spent my first 2 years here in Jogja and moved to Malang. I am very happy and honored to be able to be a part of FEB UGM as well as studying in the city where i was born. I am the eldest in the family, I have 2 siblings, a younger brother and a younger sister. Both of them are still studying in Bina Bangsa School Malang. I've stayed a couple of years in Medan,Bogor,Bandung, and the last one is Jakarta. I spent the last 9 years in Jakarta. Eventhough i spent the last 9 years in Jakarta i took my senior high school education in Magelang. I go to Taruna Nusantara Senior High School in Magelang which is a semi-military boarding school. People sometimes questioned me why don't i proceed my education to the military academy but i've always answered that being a soldier is not what i see in myself in years ahead but building my own startup is what i see. My hobby is anything that relates with sports but the activity that i particularly adore is swimming. I have been swimming since i was 3 years old and since then i have been competing in many different competition. I think thats all about me, Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi fellas !, I was born in Surakarta on April 12th, 2000. I am from a small village in Wonogiri Regency but I have been in Jogja since high school. My school was Kesatuan Bangsa School. In Addition, I know many things about Jogja because I have been here for almost four years.
ReplyDeleteI study in the Department of Management because I have an interest in the capital market. Since high school I have learned many things about stocks and other stuffs. Therefore, I chose to study in management to take financial concentration.
I have a hobby in public speaking and joining with many organizations. For me speaking in public is a very exciting moment because I can inspire many people from every speech I convey. I am an extrovert person so I really like to make friends and play together because I am very afraid of loneliness. So are you curious about me ?. Last but not least my name is Raja and nice to meet you guys.
Nice to meet you too! By the way Raja, i heard some rumors that you were seen hanging out with a girl from Management major. Is that true?
DeleteThat's completely true, I have many of them , wanna one ? you seems to be alone all the time.....
DeleteI am done, hands down. Losing is certainty fighting words with you!
DeleteHello everyone! I am Atalla, one thing you should know is that my name might suggest you that I'm a girl, but I'm not. My name is Muhammad Atalla Dzofran Wahid, and yes, most people especially Go-Jek drivers commonly mistaken me for a woman. Anyways, I was born in Jakarta on the 5th of February in the year of 2000 to parents, who raised their kids with important life values instead of materials, in which I am always grateful for. I have two sisters, one being 4 years older than me and another being 8 years younger than I am.
ReplyDeleteI have studied in three different schools with all three being in Jakarta for each level of Indonesian education (SD, SMP, SMA), that I somewhat think that each phase of my education has its own different values and objectives. I went to Madina Islamic School during my elementary years, and I believed that I grew up with strong religious principles because of it. Then I was transferred to Mentari International School Jakarta for secondary school, and three years there taught me so much because my surrounding switched really drastically being from only Muslim friends to being around a somewhat plural society, I also believed that attending school there helped me in speaking English. Lastly, I went to Sekolah HighScope Indonesia and graduated high school there. During the last three years of my school years, I went to a school which was commonly looked down by people because of how it accepts any students that applies there. I started my high school with no motivation at all and finished the first year of high school with a GPA less than 1.9, sad right? But throughout the years, I learned that everything happens for a reason. Turns out that Sekolah HighScope gave me an experience I will never be able to get from other schools. I learned so many things earlier than other high school students would, I attended competitions outside the country, I was an active student both in and out of the class.
Maybe that's a little background about me, thank you for reading!
Hi everyone! My name is Ayasha, born and raised in Jakarta. I enjoy living in the capital city, but it turns out that Jogja has been a lovely city for me these past few years. I think living alone taught me things that I didn’t know I could do, such as fixing my car. Anyway, I am currently an Economics student. I came here clueless about economics at the first place since I was a science student in high school and used to be a die-hard fan of biology, but as time goes by I am positive that I made the right choice for pursuing a degree in economics. Although I used to wish I got into medical school because my initial aim was to help people, I do believe that by being an economist you can help a large scope of people too, right?
ReplyDeleteAside from that, college life has been amazing for me, especially if you continuously seek opportunities because there are tons them and don't miss it!
Hello sir! My Name is Hanif Naufal Rifaniko and people usually call me Hanif. I was born on the 9th of January 1999 in Tokyo, Japan. I have been living in Yogyakarta for almost four years and I can assure you that it is a very nice city. I currently live with my sister and his son. My family itself consists of four members including me and I am the youngest one here. I am one of your students in the evening class on Friday. I am an alumnus from Budi Mulia Dua International High School which is located near the airport. Since joining that school, I started to like basketball and have been training for almost every day. However, in the past year I haven’t been able to touch a basketball because of my pretty busy life. I really hope that I can continue playing basketball in UGM and make new friends. That is all about me and I hope to see you on Friday!

ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteLet me introduce myself, my name is Kabik Amaz Jasikha. People call me either Kabik or Bik. I was born and raised in South Borneo. Banjarmasin is my hometown, there is nothing special about it but I do enjoy and miss my hometown sometimes. In my spare time I usually watching movies at the cinema. I, personally consider myself as an outgoing person.
A little fact about me, is that I don’t really like my name. I used to hate it. In fact, it starts with letter ‘K’ and also ends with letter ‘K’. People sometimes pronounce and spell it wrongly. Especially for Go-Jek drivers, they usually call me ‘Mas’ and ‘Pak’ for the most of the time, so after I sent the text or received the phone calls from them, they are not expected me, would show up in front of them as a girl. Another facts from me, is that I am Dayaknese because both my parents are from Central Borneo but then decided to move to South Borneo. At this point, I am enjoying my life as a student.
That’s all from me.
Thank you!
Hello everyone, I’m Fikri from the Friday Class.
ReplyDeleteI will tell you a little bit about myself in this comment. My name is Fikri Haidar Adikusumo, i was born in Magelang, Central Java in September 22nd, 2001. Yes, i’m still a 16 year old boy, unlike any other my classmates, who are already 17, 18, or even 19. Everyone was in shock when i told them i’m still 16. Actually i graduated earlier than my friends in high school. It was because of i completed my Senior High School only in two years, in the acceleration program. It was only 26 person in one class, and it was hell for me, because high school subjects are pretty hard to understand, and i have to complete learning it in only 2 years of studies, from the normal of 3 years. I lived in Semarang for 12 years, before it i was living in Magelang and Jogjakarta, at my grandparent’s house. Right now i’m back in Jogjakarta, as i’m studying in UGM. I like to sing, but only when i am alone, in the bathroom especially. I actually already chasing UGM since i was only in the elementary school. It was because of my mother and father, who were also a UGM graduates. My mother took Pharmacy, and my father took Chemical Engineering as their subject of studies. They always took me for a walk at UGM everytime we came to Jogja, to introduce me to UGM, and that made me fell in love with UGM since i was just a kid.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Ryandana Rafif Aryadi. I was born on the 8th of July 2000 in Tangerang, BSD. I’m 18 years old and currently living in Pogung Baru, near the street of Pandega Merta. I’m actually a bit of an introvert, so people might usually think that I don’t prefer company. But on the contrary, I like meeting new people and going out with them. So don’t be afraid to come up and say hi to me . My hobbies include listening to music, watching tv series and anime on my downtime, and playing basketball. I’m not actually good at basketball though, but I’m trying to get better. Winning EBOL and Porsenigama are my first goal to being a better basketball player in my university career. I’ll make sure to train real hard! So far, uni life has been treating me very well. I can keep up at my studies, and my friends here are all nice people. I hope I can keep this up in the future.
First of all, let us begin with my nick name which is Herlambang and it is taken from my name. My name is Raihan Nizarrakha Herlambang. I live in Yogyakarta but I originally came from Borneo, for exctly Balikpapan. Even though I was born at Balikpapan I’d like to think that I am a Yogyakartanese since I grow up in Yogyakarta. My birthday is 24 September 2000 that makes me 17 years old for now when I write this. Moving on the hobbies I don’t exactly know what is my hobby but for now I am sticking with photography. I found that photography is fun because you could do that wherever you go. Now we come to my favorite part which is talking about my music preference. Begin from music, I love every kind of music that can be enjoyed such us Mumford and Sons songs and not like a music that make you head banging.
