From this video I begin to understand why after becoming a leader, an individual will have a slightly different character. After looking at some parts of this video, I concluded that when a person faces a small community, the challenges will be different from those who are placed in a large community. The greater the position we have, the greater the challenges that must handle. The concept of "The Rules for Rulers" means that a rule will continue to emerge along with our position. The higher we are, the more problems we have as leaders. But I don't really like this video because there are too many discussions about politics that I think are very close to dictatorism. The duration for this video is too long so it will make the audience more bored because of the topic. But the message that the video maker wants to convey is more about the concept of how a leader influences his people in a community.
This video has given me a wider point of view of being a leader. At the first place, I kind a agree upon the statement that says if I can be the leader then I will make things better with my own and do the reverse thing that seems unfair to me. But then, after watched this video, I realized that as a follower we sometimes don’t really see things in many different point of view; all we know is just whether the decision made by the leader is benefit for us or not. Apparently, as a leader they were command to not only think about their follower, but instead they should consider many aspects that is even more than one. Like for example, when they make decision, they should consider about the loyalty of the people they have, the voters that came from the society, the benefits they can get, the benefits that they can give to the society, or even they should also think about their haters. Because even one decision they made will always affecting their reputation as a leader and their image among all the society which can be valued for their up coming performance. Start from now, I realize that I should give more respect towards any decision made by a leader as long as we can reach their point of view and their main purpose that should be beneficial for both side.
This video helped me understand that rulers have a large responsibility and multiple obligations. They also need to maintain a certain level trust for the nation to progress ,be it in the leader's benefit or to the people's benefit. And I think that the video really emphasizes that trust and loyalty is important, as it may affect how effective of a subordinate they would be. I also think it is interesting to hear about how a dictatorship functions. I have always thought that a dictator has to do a majority of the tasks in the country. But as it turns out there are delegates to their regime. And the video also mentioned about coup's, which is also equally interesting. Primarily because it is usually instigated by one of the officers of a dictator. And it also makes me think why they don't stage a coup when the dictator mannerism in the way they handle a situation becomes too sadistic.
Personally, I found this video really interesting. The first point that really made me think is the fact that no man rules alone even in a dictatorship. For a while I saw dictatorship as a one man country, disregarding any ones opinion, but turns out I was wrong. The other point that is also interesting is that the video answer why rulers do not do the direct solution of a problem. Personally, I am sick of people saying that they would be a better leader because they can see the solution of the problem. And every time said that, I always tried to explain that maybe they are planning something else that is better than their current decision. But now that I watched this video I have now able to explain why exactly the rulers chose such poor decisions. the conclusion is everyone may be able to find a solution to a problem, but not everyone can lead.
