I’m happy as I am
Cause I’m leaving
Days will be the same
In a different way
Going to a place
Where I used to stay
Writing something new
In this home I know
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog
Won’t die in the city
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog won’t die in the city
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog
Won’t die in the city
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog won’t die in the city
Right eyelids closed
Both feet behind
I aim for tomorrow
Work on my mind
Going to a place
Where I used to stay
Writing something new
In this home I know
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog
Won’t die in the city
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog won’t die in the city
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog
Won’t die in the city
We’ll be all right
Stay here some time
This country dog won’t die in the city

[Verse]
I make enough mistakes
And it feels like she's the only one that hears the things I say
So if for any reason there's some miscommunication or I'm lying to her face
My immaturity and habits getting in the way
'Cause I can barely breathe and I don't know how I'll explain myself this time
Wish it wasn't a case of "this time"
But why can't I be any other boy
That doesn't need a hand in love?
Someone that I would trust
But how did I fail
To give you all the love that you deserve?
When you're the only thing that's worth
What life is worth
And I don't mind if you hate me
'Cause baby if I were you I would probably hate me too
I said that I don't mind if you hate me
'Cause baby if I were you I would probably hate me too

[Verse: bearface]
Was I more than it's worth
Or will you see my name and I'll fade?
Pitch my camp in your mind
Sat by the fire, behind your eyes
And I'll look through them just once or twice
But I might see something I don't like
Like your hands in his shirt
Entwined in cotton, his loving smirk
[Chorus: bearface & No Rome]
Losing my way, ohh
Seeing your name, but I'll be fine, yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
(No worries) Losing my way, ohh
Did I come again dressed out like a shame? Cloudy
Seeing your name
Eyes are but a pain, roses in my veins, sorry
But I'll be fine, yeah (no worries)
Yeah yeah yeah (no worries)
Yeah yeah yeah (no worries)
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
[Outro: bearface]
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Oh-oh-oh-ooh
Oh-oh-ooh
Oh-oh-oh-ooh

[Verse 1]
Can you see to this harmony?
Can you let a quartet set you free?
This tonality, doesn't disagree
Ought to be chromatically pleasin' me
[Chorus]
All that I want
Is some good loving musical thoughts
[Verse 2]
I got to see, learn this history
Pull another record from your sleeve
A mystery, if you don't believe
Slip another coin in my machine
(Baby, you're my kind)
[Chorus]
All that I want (All I wanna, hear the drum ah)
Is some good listening musical pop (And Madonna. And marijuana)
The gift keeps giving
Use what you've got (shake it mama, upset your karma)
Not what you're missing
[Solo]
[Chorus]
All that I want (All I wanna, hear the drum ah)
Is some good listening musical pop (And Madonna. And marijuana)
The gift keeps giving
Use what you've got (Shake it mama, upset your karma)
Not what you're missing
The songs “Untitled” by Rex and “Waste” by Brockhampton are two of my favorite songs. I always love Brockhampton, especially every last songs in each of their albums, because usually they expressed their feelings and dilemma in that particular song. The song “Waste” is the last song in SATURATION album. Bearface as the singer and the producer expressed his feelings in which he was afraid to show the real him and felt the fear of being forgotten. The song is really short but the message is delivered perfectly. When I listened to the song for the first time, I was quite emotional as the song “Waste” is different with the rest of the songs in the album. As I read the lyrics, I was amazed by Bearface as he is able to tell and show the world the real him through his songs and lyrics. There are other songs written by him that I love so much, the songs are “SUMMER” and “TEAM”.
ReplyDeleteWASTE, an acoustic ballad sang by bearface, is the last track of BROCKHAMPTON’s breakthrough album “SATURATION I” that evokes senses of jealousy and of being forgotten. BROCKHAMPTON’s other two albums of the SATURATION triptych, SATURATION II and III, also contain an acoustic ballad sang by bearface as the last track. Things I like the most out of WASTE and the other two similar tracks from the SATURATION albums are the heavily reverberating guitar effects and bearface’s vocal inflections that perfectly capture the mood of the track. It is also interesting to know that all three ending tracks of the three SATURATION albums (WASTE, SUMMER, and TEAM) are all connected to each other, and by listening to SUMMER and TEAM, listeners can know that the subject of bearface’s affections is in fact a man. All three ending tracks of the SATURATION series of albums also feature the heavily reverberated guitars and bearface’s vocal solo.
ReplyDeleteBROCKHAMPTON's "WASTE" is a song that definitely stands out to me. The song was sung by BROCKHAMPTON's bearface, 1 of the 14 members of the collective. This song was also a part of the SATURATION album; which along side SATURATION II and SATURATION III, was arguably the album that propelled them into their popularity. Bearface's performance and delivery on this track is, without a shadow of doubt, commendable and beautiful and stirs emotions very well and deeply despite the short length of the song. Alongside the vocals were guitars that further helped the songs flow and convey emotions thoroughly, which I might say gives it the unique feel to this song. I would say that the song took on a different tone to the rest of the album and it definitely made it a stand out track, and the fact that it is the final track on the album made it a nice wrap up to the album.

ReplyDelete“Untitled” by Rex Orange County is my favorite songs than the other. The lyric is very relatable to me and I think that is the main reason why I love it. Rex has a lot of good songs that’s worth to listen to everyday. His songs are not always that mellow type, but he has a lot of famous songs that a lot of people liked. Honestly, I didn’t know the other songs, but when I listened to them, I pretty much like all of them. The one that I like the most that I just listened to is “WASTE” by Brockhampton. Also, the lyric is very deep and I like songs that gave me some kind of feeling. I always liked slow, mellow songs and often listened to that kind of songs. Even when I don’t feel mellow at all, I still like to listen to mellow songs because somehow, it made me feel calm.
I am going to give my thoughts about the first song, called “Tailwhip” by Men I Trust. The song is very light and easy to listening. The type of songs you can enjoy after you got back from your day routine. The type of songs to relax with a cup of tea or coffee. Even though, I am not sure what the lyrics really about, but it seems about how life is going to be all right. If you look on the music video, you can see the scenes of childhood memories which bring our memories back of the good old days. And if you think that way—childhood memories are memory of good old days. I suggest you to either be happy and grateful or change our perspective on our current days. Because, sometimes we forget to appreciate what we daily see, but when it is all gone, there is only regret that left in our heart.
ReplyDeleteI personally love Rex Orange County even though I can say that most of his songs contain explicit words. But, I fall in love with the melody and the lyrics he wrote. “Untitled” is one of his hit songs. The song is not a long song like we usually hear, it is only two minutes and fifteen seconds long! On the outro (if I am not mistaken), you can hear he is whistling merduly. Based on his song, he seems like a very loving-boy who is truly in love with his partner. But, in his song called “Sunflower” you can really see his affection to his partner. But beside that, I do love him because he pour his love to his artwork, to his songs. I love to see people who are doing what you really love to do, and I see it on Rex Orange County’s live performance.
DeleteI am going to talk a little bit about the third song also! It is titled as “WASTE” by BROCKHAMPTON. I love the feeling of the song they offer to me. I am not sure why but every song has their own characteristic and vibes which made us to feel something. Wow, it sounds too much but I love listening songs. And this song is also light. If you find these songs interesting, you would probably love songs from Slowdive also. For the Rex Orange County’s other songs hit, if you are interested you might probably ever heard about a song called “Best Friend” but if you have not you probably should check that out. Also a song from Rex Orange County which titled “Hapiness”. It has also some explicit words, but listen to the song makes you guess of Rex Orange County’s feelings when he wrote the song. A sad-loving boy, Rex Orange County, I love his artworks and his honesty on the songs.
DeleteAfter hearing the first song which is “Tailwhip” by Men I Trust, I fell in love with the tone immediately even though I have never heard this song before. The tone is very calming and feels like a breeze to my ear. I do not really understand the lyrics of the song but I am sure it is about someone that is so sure he or she will be all right. Second, I would like to give a comment on song number two which is “Untitled” by Rex Orange County. Different from the previous one, I have heard this song before. I like Rex Orange County and I think their songs are very catchy. The lyrics of “Untitled” tells how a man who feels like he fails to give his partner all the love she deserved. It also implies that the woman hates the man. I do not really like this song compared to Rex Orange County’s other songs such as Best Friend, Sunflower, and Loving Is Easy.
ReplyDeleteRex Orange County is one of people’s currently favorites these days. It is a stage name of the guy called Alexander O’Connor. I said “currently” favorites because we know that music people hears differ from time to time, even in a short period of time. I think the genre of indie pop, neo soul, and alternative hip hop of him is the reason why he’s currently being the most listened singer among youth in the world, including Indonesia. Untitled is actually my favorite song from Rex Orange County. When I first know Rex, I listened to his big hits like Sunflower, Best Friend, and Loving is Easy. My habit is when I firstly know an artist, I would listen to all of the songs in all of their albums. So, when it came to Untitled, I really like the beat in the middle of the song, it’s just unique and quite fun for me to listen.
ReplyDeleteI love Rex Orange County. Even though I haven't listen to all his songs, I believe that he have his own uniqueness. He is still 20, which is very young and I believe he got the potential becoming an unrivalled star later on. I might guess he could be the artist we actually need in the era for his uniqueness and their songs which are related to today's most teenager life. The cool thing about Rex Orange County or Alexander O’Connor which is his real name is that he is very good at naming things. The 2 songs I actually love so much from rex Orange County are Loving is Easy & A Song About Being Sad. I find both songs relaxing & bring good vibes. Sometimes both songs are my sleep pills also if I find it hard to sleep at night. So far, I have no idea or thoughts yet about the songs of Men I Trust, Brockhampton & Mild High Club but I will certainly check them out later on.
ReplyDeleteBROCKHAMPTON is quite newcomer in the hip hop scene. Their SATURATION trilogy is highly rated among critics and fans. But there is something unique about the SATURATION trilogy. The last song in every SATURATION album are mellow and it is connected to each other. From what I read on the internet, WASTE, SUMMER, and TEAM are mainly telling the story of a love affair between Evanie and two other boys. Each song is telling the story in a personal point of view of them. It was a genius songwriting done by this boyband. These three songs are featuring high-pitched voice of bearface, one of the group member, reverb electric guitar riff and some piano.
ReplyDeleteUntitled is another song that I have listened in this playlist. It is by Rex Orange County, another young talented musician right now. It tells about the inability of a man to give his lover the love that she deserved. It also have the whistling part which I think is making this song unique.
One of the song listed by one of my friend is ‘Untitled’ by Rex Orange County, this song is a depressed song and put so much pressure to our own side. I hear this song in the cases of disappointment towards myself and lacking in self worth, it might be due to my own faults especially unnecessary faults or sometimes when I am being mistreated by other especially the people that I love. This one is probably my “go to song” when I feel down or depressed towards myself. The lyrics that often made me feel that I am more worthless is the part “if I were you, I would probably hate myself too”. At this point of the song I often feel the most worthless. I think it is a common thing among millenials because they are a subject closely related with depression because the were not taught how to be independent from the day they were born.
