  1. I was a diligent and obedient student back in middle school, and the concept of high school, in my head, was a sequence of achievement (as in competition) and complicated love life (duh). But instead, I was met with a completely different situation. Probably I was adjusting myself to fit in a new environment. My high school life was not a roller coaster of emotion, but it was still a whole new experience in my part. One of the craziest moments I had was that my friends I and were planning to skip the class and going to Puncak instead. It may sound very ordinary but looking from a perspective of someone who never broke a single rule in middle school, it was very fun and memorable. Not to mention another trip my friends and I took for a week in my second year. The thought of breaking rules was indeed luring and even addicting. Since then, I had become much more laid-back than I was before. Now that I think about it, high school doesn’t suck as much as I thought it did.

  2. Onetime my class, as in all members of my class, got punished because we did not wear our alma mater blazer when my school were having a weekly flag ceremony. The regulation says that all students must wear the alma mater blazers during the flag ceremony in school. I am not sure whether I bring my blazer or not at that time but the thing is, not all of my classmates forgot to bring their blazers. My class were 24 students, and probably 10 of them actually did bring their blazers. But for the sake of togetherness principle that we have, my diligent and not-so-forgetful- classmates decided to accompany the other friends that forgot to bring the alma mater blazers. And so it happens, my class got punished and we were asked by the teachers to stand in the front of the other students/classes of the whole school. On top of that, we were the only class who got detention, no other students/class got punished. It was an interesting experience indeed.

  3. High school has a super special place in my heart. For starters, my high school is one of the best high school in my city. There were more than 800 students competing for around 200 seats in my high school, so the competition was fierce. My high school was a very competitive Catholic school, students came from all over Indonesia to pursue their education at Loyola College. The most memorable moment for me was during our eleventh grade trip to Bali. The trip was held when the twelve graders were doing their national examination. It may seem like an ordinary high school trip but for the majority of Loyola students, it was something else. What differentiates our trip from other high schools’ was because the students didn’t pay any contribution fee to this trip so none of us has to pay anything. The trip was held by each class so each class has their own unique destinations. At that time, my class worked so hard to reach our targeted goal. We sold more than a thousand shirts and t-shirts that we designed on our own while other classes only sold around 600 shirts. For around two months, all 29 of our class members scattered around the school hall selling different kinds of snacks to fund our trip. We desperately seek sponsorship to help contribute to our class financial matters. What excited me most was when we way exceeded our targeted goal and we experienced one of the best trips that were totally extraordinary. . Our hard work had finally paid off and it was the best feeling. Some people might question why we as Loyola students devote ourselves to the schools more than other students in other schools. First of all, in Loyola we call ourselves by KKL which means “Keluarga Kolese Loyola” and it made us felt as if we were truly a family. Second, we don’t call our seniors by Kak and we just call them by their names which makes our relations more natural and I don’t really feel the “gap” between seniors and the juniors. All in all, leaving high school was tough but I’m glad that I chose Loyola as my high school. The assignments and homework were super tough but Loyola has transformed me into the person I am today.

  4. The saddest memory of my high school years was probably when we fail to win the DBL. as you may or may not know, DBL is the most prestigious basketball tournament at high school level. Every school with an enthusiastic team of basketball players will probably have the same dream, to win DBL. It isn’t an easy task, as the levels of plays and the players are far above any other tournament we ever played in. We trained for 6-8 months in preparations for DBL, 3 days a week. Each training filled with a ridiculous amount of physical training. I swear, I never went home without feeling sore. But we did it anyways since our drive to win was huge at the moment. When the pairings were announced, we found out that we were paired against last year champion. Everyone was saying that the match was set, but we still determined to prove them wrong. So, we played. But in the end, we lost by 12 points. I didn’t found a single person of my teammates that weren’t crying that day. Especially, us 3rd years because it is our last chance of playing basketball in high school. It was a very sad day indeed, because I feel like I was disappointing both my teams and my friends who have come to watch us play.

  5. High school was a very memorable moment in my life. It was the time that I can express myself as wide as I could and I will never forget my times there. My school, Stella Duce 1 senior high school was a all girls school. At first, when I joined this school, I was being lazy because I thought that an all girls school will be full of dramas. But as long as I undergo my journey there, I found myself enjoying my times so much. My friends were full of fun, I always find myself comfortable with them, find them really build me to be a better person, and mostly, I found the meaning of true friendships there. I think that friendship was the most valuable thing I found there in high school. The second thing I didn’t expect in my high school was that me and my friends were very free to express ourselves. I believe that this happened because when it is all girls area, we felt more confident to express ourselves, which is very important in order for us to grow, especially in those growing times in high school.

  6. My high school life was definitely the best memories that I have. As teenagers, my friends and I did not really care about studying, instead, we liked to play around, hang out every night, did stupid things, and we are so obsessed with party. All my close friends entered the same high school as me, so it did not take a long time to adapt in high school. My generation is very solid, we know each other, we respect each other, even though it was divided into science students, social, and language, but we always made good friends. The most memorable things from my high school life were the parties. At the second grade of my high school, there were many sweet 17th parties held by the students, and almost all got invited, those were so fun, plus, at that time disco time was very popular among us, so we liked to danced together after the party held, and sometimes we spent nights together with friends. These kind of memories successfully color my life, and I will forever grateful to have them as my high school mates.

  7. Living in the dormitory as a boarding student taught me so many things about life. Kesatuan Bangsa School Yogyakarta was my second home. The first time I came to this school , I was crying because I believed that it will hard for me to live far away from home. After staying in the dormitory for about one month I told my parents that I couldn’t stay any longer in this school. I didn’t like the teachers, the foods, and the environment but my parents answered “ Just do it son, this is what we should understand, it’s all about adaptation” ,then I decided to stay and keep going on.

After living in the dormitory for almost a year , I finally could feel the sensation of living as a boarding student. I realized that I just got a new family member, I enjoyed the environment and everything. The most craziest moment happened in my third year. At that time, my friends and I formed an secret organization called “ Asrama Rimba “. This organisation was the student community that consisted of some students who wanted to do crazy things. Our experiences were climbing up the fence, damaging the wall between boys dormitory and girls dormitory, vandalism in the school, stealing food from the warehouse, hacking the school hotspot, falsifying signature of supervisor and many others. I was very grateful that I could live my life because Avicii said “ One day you'll leave this world behind So live a life you will remember."

  8. In high school, I went to a super demanding academic oriented state school. If you compare to the other schools in Jakarta, my school doesn’t have much. The building is old with a really odd layout there aren’t much space there, we have a river next to our school which would flood at least twice a year, and a railway depot on the other side; what a perfect place to study right? One of my most peculiar moment of high school was back in my second year. I am from a very special class in my school: the only social major class, which means only three classes exist on the school, one for each year. The social major in our school are notorious for our mischievous tendency. That day, the river next to our school flooded; yet, for some reason we are still required to stay within the school. So what happen next is extreme, we have an emergency exit which is custom made for floods, so what happened was we open the exit without authorization, and just scattered. And since it was actually flooding the people outside actually helped our daring escape. That was one of my moments of high school.

  9. During my high school years, I am a type of person that balance out social and academic life. There is a saying that emphasizes how our high school times will be the best time of our life. I held on to that saying for 3 years. During my 3rd year of high school, when I got my car for the first time, I would drive by my own every day. Since I took the IB DP programme, my third year is unimportant since we are all done with the syllabus and we are only waiting for the IB exams. Therefore, every day, I would go to school just to pick my friends up and chill somewhere, spending my class period outside the school. This tightened me and my friends' friendship, since skipping class is prohibited and we did that together routinely. This event is how I manage to gain my social life experiences. To gain my academic life experience, I still attend class if I want too. People might say that by skipping class regularly, I will not get high grades. I proved them wrong by getting my final grades above my batch's average.

  10. Living in a dormitory for 3 years really change my life. There was a program during the first year on the first semester of my class where students are force to stay in the school for 3 months with no communication to outside even with parents, no gadgets at all, not allowed to go outside school with any reasons except for medical reasons. At first I though that it was going to be easy for 3 months to having no communications to the outside world, I thought everything is going to be fine. It turn out to become one of the worst time of my life. It really acknowledge me the true meaning of parents and the true meaning of friendship. Not only not having communication from the outside world , the education system really pressured me at the moment. We were oblige to memorize all of the teachers in the school and what subjects are they teaching, all of the seniors name and rank in organizations, and where do they come from. We were also stressed because we were force to clean our own clothes every night and iron our clothes everyday. We got up at 5:00 AM for morning exercise and we only have 15-30 minutes to be ready for breakfast. It was really a hectic three months and resulting a decreasing weight of 16kg. That is one of the worst and the best memories of my high school.

  11. The very last second I leave high school, I realized that high school was the best three years of my life. Entering a new culture of education system, creating new scope of friends, adapting to the new lifestyle, triggering myself to go outside my boundaries; these are things that I have done in my high school years. Yet, there is one moment of high school that I think I will never forget; it’s my first three months in high school.

Moving from one school to another, meeting new people, dealing with new environment of people are the common things happen to me since my dad regularly do such mutation due to his job. But in fact, entering high school, was not easy as I thought it would be. Apparently, my high school was a private high school. The number of the students is very small and so they became so connected to each other and became hard to open to new people. So in the first month, I found it very difficult to find new friends. Aside from friends, I also find it difficult to adapt to such new system of education. My high school was adopting both foreign and local curriculum. Also, they are applying such college system, which relying on the use of technology that enforce me to learn and adapt to it. So you can see that my first three months in high school was full of struggle. But from that, I start to find my own solution in order to survive in high school; and eventually I did survive. So basically, these first three months are very crucial to me because it shaped me as a person in order to become more confidence, mature, and open minded towards solving problems.

  12. High school was the best years of my life, i went to the same high school with my best friends. I feel so happy because during high school i spent many of my time with them, and i just want to spend every waking hour with my buddies. I remember me and my best friend would just spend every moment together doing nothing. As i get older i realize i lost that moment with things i do now (going to university), and i think high school is that brief moment in my life when it’s not really possible to miss my friends, it’s probably the things I long for the most, because missing to me, missing them is sucks, and of the proudest moment in my high school is when i went to Russia with my best friends, we join traditional dance competion ( Interfolk ) in Saint Petersburg gladly we won the competition. High school is three years of my life that amount little consequence. Life gifts you time to have fun and spend time with your friends. At that time i realized how special it was, and I tried to enjoy everything as much as I could.

  13. High School was truly an emotional roller coaster for me. It was a period of time where I had truly experience the term “Self Discovery”. During my time in High School I got to learn a lot about myself. I learned a lot about what I want and didn’t want to do for the rest of my life. I realized how much my passions and dreams have changed a lot over the years. High School was definitely tiring and draining but, it was also filled with a lot of irreplaceable memories. High School was filled with the most genuine forms of friendship I have had in years. Friendships I have built in High School are the best thing to ever happen to me. Those friendships were the reason why High School was bearable, they made High School less boring. Which was why one of the saddest moment I had during High School was the last day of High School itself. I remember seeing everyone crying. There was no single soul who didn’t cry that day. I will never forget what it feels like to cry in the arms of the people I love, the people I got to see every single day of High School for 3 years straight. It was truly an unforgettable feeling.

  14. High school was one of the most glorious moment of my life, even though I wasn’t particularly diligent nor smart, I was one of the kids that you can refer as “anak tongkrongan”. I know at that time, being an “anak tongkrongan” means that the thing that I was doing was just waste of time, but it is quite strange that I actually enjoyed hanging out with my friends and wasting my time with them. In my school, there is a group that call themselves as “Alcatraz”. it is a group of hooligans in which if you want to enter that group, you have to wait for a year as a junior to guard the group’s basecamp from the attack of other school’s groups. The fun and terrible part is, after you had waited and guard the group’s basecamp for a year, you then have to be initiated by your senior. The thing that I remembered the most was, I had to gather with 48 of my friend and then we had to be tortured and tested for a day in a villa, as that was part of the initiation. That part was one of thing that united us as more than just a bunch of hooligans. That is why, every time I went home to Jakarta, I always looked for them and hang out with them as I missed them very much.

  15. My journey through High-School encountered many ups and downs. There were moments during that process that was joyful for myself for it has given me a moment of "Right Here, Right Now" sensation, where I feel the need to enjoy High School as long as possible (I know it's naive and cliche). But there were moments that made me hated the experience, instigating the urge to graduate as fast as I can. I have to be honest though, High School did give me a lot of opportunities and experiences that enabled me to compete and be active in my current environment, ranging from Sports, Arts, and Creative Writing, so many have I learned from High-School. From learning to speak publicly, socializing, and even had my first love, High-School did helped to shape me the way I am today.

The weirdest thing that I've faced during High-School was the fact that I've never been given disciplinary actions for violating school rules, such as smoking in the school, and so on, even though my friends who were caught among myself were all given disciplinary action against. Maybe because I've tried to talk crap and negotiate so hard, but we'll never know, won't we ?

  16. Throughout my high school years, I spent most of my time with my close friends. We created a group named as Chillex. At first, it may sound cheesy and tacky but they are always there for me through my ups and downs. We have never considered the consequences of our actions and we never think rationally before we decided to do something. There are a lot of embarrassing memories but there is one moment that I would never forget. It was a birthday of one of my friend, her name is Aikawa. We were planning a surprise for her birthday. The plan was to get her all dirty with eggs, flour, and rotten papaya. We did the surprise in the canteen and as a result, we caused chaos and created mess all over the canteen. The discipline system in my previous school is strict. When a teacher passed by the hall, she was extremely furious and started to embarrass us in front of the other students and staffs present surrounding the canteen. The six of us were put into a detention and we were told to cleaned the hall for the whole week.

  17. My high school time was filled with studying and worrying about my academic life. I was not the most diligent of all back in the days. So, one day I decided that I really want to make my parents proud of me since I was never in the top three whatsoever. Then, I started my revolution by studying for every exam and not letting myself sleep before I understand all the materials that will be tested. I know that this is not the healthiest way to study but I really think it was the most effective system for me. After that, I started joining four after-school courses for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Mathematics for Science. I was not realized that I might have had pushed myself too hard until my body showed stress reaction. It was finally worth it when I found out that I was ranked second in my class. That was quite an overwhelming experience but I am very glad I could cope with that.

  18. I have great memories in high school, some are good and some are bad, few learning experiences that I'll take it with me the rest of my life. Once i joined a school activity called Glori Cup where we make a competition that involves many other school. Me and my friends were a committee, but we escaped from our responsibility as one. We decided to sneak out of school to go to Senayan City for cueing for the opening of The Halal Guys restaurant where they give out free 50 plates. We arrived there at 9am and we were lucky enough to get free food even though it was exhausting since we have to run from the first to the fifth floor (the escalator was still off). Then we went back to school at 3pm and still manage to join the closing ceremony. It was high school after all, definitely one of the most bizarre periods in a person’s life.

  20. My high school career is similar to that of a roller coaster ride, meaning there were the ups and downs. The ups of my time in high school were probably the experience that I shared with my friends. Since my school is a private school, each class is limited to have a certain number of people. Because there weren’t as many students in my class, each individual gets to know each other very well, which led to us having numerous hang out together within out 3 years of high school. I also decided to join Drama class and be involved in a Play, which made me meet several underclassmen and made friends with them. I also involved myself in sports, particularly football, however, it was a mixed feeling for me. It was a fun experience since we had lots of hangout after practice and memorable experiences from a tournament we attended in Malang. It was also a sad experience since we didn’t win the tournament and we placed 3rd in the tournament, which is quite disappointing since we spent three months practicing for the tournament. Another sad experience happened during the last two weeks of my senior year where everyone got emotional. Since most of the members in my class already attend the same school since their elementary year (my school consists of elementary and high school combined into one school) it was really hard to part our ways since we all been together for so long. There was also an activity that one of our favorite teachers made which made us reminisced back to the important events that my class did together.

  21. I had an AMAZING time in high school; it was such a happy place with lots of fond memories. My high school story ranges from Pondok Labu itself (where my school is) to forests in Kamojang Village and even Perth! My high school highlight was when I literally was lost in the middle of forest during night and stuck for half hour or so because my friend and I rode a really incapable motorcycle to get us back to Kamojang Village in which it was located at a higher level (about 9 km trip to the upper side of the mountain) than Randakurung Village. My friend and I were so desperate, we eventually by miracle successfully get the motorcycle on again even though the speed decreases exponentially and we pray all the way back to our village. High school was my prime time, and I mean it because I was so happy with my friends with the minimal burden.

  22. There are many memories during my high school year, and most of them involve my best friends. I had been a type of student who wanted to stay out of trouble during middle school and expects it to be that way again in high school. However, I’m not as obedient as in my middle school, while I’m not as misbehaving as other students in my batch. While it is not a successful getaway, I think that the most memorable high school experience is in grade 10, when there was an assembly we should attend. My friends and I were planning to escape after attendance checking, but we were nearly caught by security that suspected us, and therefore we head back to the hall. However, when the security disappears, we went to a changing room for the swimming pool, which is near the hall. We talked and laughed throughout the period for the assembly, which is around 6 hours. It may not be turned as we planned it to be, but it was the most memorable one, and I enjoyed it more than other successful escape getaways.

  23. The scariest moment for me has always been when I am in a plane. As someone who is very scared of height, I never felt safe being in a plane. Whenever I am flying to someplace, I always try to sleep before it takes off and before it lands. These moments are the scariest moment for me because when the plane always moves and wiggles as if it is about to crash. However, when it is at its peak, the plane is very stable, so it comforts me a little. The other reason why being in a plane is scary is because in some moments, there are babies that are crying, people that get mad because of the hectic situation and it does not help the situation in any way. The last reason is because when I was a kid, I used to watch plane crashes movies and because of that, it made me scared until today.

  24. I spent my high school years in Jember, a small town in East Java. During my high school years, I spent a lot of time playing musical instruments with my friends and performing on both school and public events. I was an active member of the school’s music extracurricular for three years. Joining the school’s music extracurricular was a risk for me as I had no experience in musical performances and I had poor skills in playing musical instruments. I used to learn the guitar in eighth grade with a tutor, but that’s about it. Considering the number of people who played the guitar really well at that time, I decided to learn to play the drums because there weren’t many people interested in it. I spent about eight months of drum tutoring, and I got to perform with a band on many school events. Playing the drums turned out to be really fun for me, you play by moving your hands and feet to adjust the rhythm of music with beats. The biggest event I ever performed in was the “Banyuwangi Jazz Festival” which was held last year in Banyuwangi.

  25. High school memories, are the memories that me and my classmates will never forget till the rest of our live. In this passage, I will share my craziest moment in high school that me and my friend do it almost every day. This all starts at grade 11, where each of us start to feel like families where we play together every day, share life stories, and do a lot of crazy things. First thing, is when the class starts at 8p.m but we enter the class at 10p.m because we play soccer or basketball before the class. Then, when we enter the class after doing some sports, we throw our smelly shoes and clothes below the AC so it makes the class smell like a trash bin. Finally, it makes the teacher gets really angry and punish us below the Indonesian flag at 12p.m where the temperature is really hot and they tell us to stay for more than 30 minutes.

  26. I had an amazing experience in high school. I had the same classroom friends for the whole 3 years, so we wouldn’t have to adapt with new friends. On the first year, there were 24 students in my class. By graduation, there were only 19, and there were only 5 boys in my class. Although we were the class with the least students, my class was considered the disobedient class. My homeroom teacher also accompanied us for 3 years, and she admitted that she was stress handling us. My class is well-known for its solidarity and for the amount of skipping classes. Our hobby is combining those two things, solidarity for skipping classes. Oftentimes, all of us skipped classes together. Even the security couldn’t hold us. The next day, either our homeroom teacher or the vice principal would give us a ‘lecture’ to not skip class again. The main reason for this incident is because oftentimes the teacher was absent. But sometimes, even though the teacher was present, we would still skip class. That is the most remembered routine during my high school.

  27. This was actually a love story of mine back in my high school years. I met a girl in my high school, we met because we love the same sport which is basketball. At that time, we were best friend and we remain best friend until now, but now she is my girlfriend. We met because we were a committee of a sport event in our school and the division we were handling was basketball. We became very close and went anywhere like a couple of lovebirds, but we were not in love at that time. Suddenly, one of my guy friend approach me and asked me about my girl I fell in love with the basketball court. And he told me that he liked her, and suddenly my heart teared apart into pieces. And I lost contact with the girl for about a year. All of a sudden we got back together in the ending period of our high school years and until now we remain best friend and a lover.

  28. High school times are the best. It's the time where friendships are totally recognised. In high school, I had the same class with my friends for 3 years. My class consisted of 20 amazing positive people, people who aren't just friends to me but considered also as my second family. We had 3 years of amazing time together. Me and my friends were science students, but we were not nerds that stick with books every time instead we always find new ideas to have fun and laugh our ass off. Me and my friends were performers, we played a lot of theatrical performances starting from D-Man(following the concept of Batman) to Beauty & The Beast. We also had our own jokes that probably couldn't be understood by other people. There are still lots of memories we had together that could show how great my high school times but I think I will stop here because to be honest, I teared up a bit while writing this comment on how I missed my high school times and friends so much.

  29. I had a lot of regrets during my high school years. There were compulsive choices that I made, due to the influences of teen angst and egocentrism, so I had to find what I should have done and what I should not have done in a considerably hard way. One of the regrets that still haunts my mind is that I did not manage to take advantage of the chances of being together with my high school sweetheart. I was young and I blew every circumstance that could have taken us somewhere, and it still hurts to think that I was not able to pull her off. I started to regret it until she was already with someone else. Another regret is my indifference towards being active in school organisations and events, as I used to spend most of my time hanging out with my compatriots. I could have had a solid curriculum vitae if I chose to be an active student in high school.

  30. High school was a very memorable event for me. During these 3 years, there is so many phenomena that would pop up every year and it’s like a brand-new episode every day. During the first year of my high school, we were still trying to be acquainted with each other since we are all still unknown with new people. Even though there are some people that already know with each other since they came from the same school, but they are not put in the same class. Hence every time there’s an afternoon break, the class would relatively be empty. But all of that changed when we’re put in the second year. We already acquainted with each other, some of us have already started dating, while some of us are still single, and most of us have already made a circle with their friends. All that said, the second year of my high school is the best year that I have ever experienced. Since most of the time, my class would hang out with each other every weekend, and after the final exam of the second year, we actually rented a villa for all of us and we stayed there for about 2 nights. And during our third year of high school, we all started to get serious as to where should we apply for college. If I have to say, the most memorable thing in my third year was that most of us, excluding me, went to the counseling teacher and consult as to what major they should choose. Heck, even some of them started to weep in the middle of the consultation. All in all, we all graduated high school safely and those memories of those three years will be stuck with us for the rest of our life.

  31. I feel like one of the highlights of my experience in High School was a film project I did with some of my friends, where we directed and produced our own film and spent lots of time together traveling around Jakarta trying to put our film together. The film itself was about the journey and the struggles of a local film director in trying to produce the first pornographic film in Indonesia. The style of the direction is a satirical documentary, kind of making fun of VICE’s films but with our own added ironic comedy spoken in dialogue. What made the project fun was my friend, who, as the director, was a huge perfectionist that wanted all the scenes to fit exactly to what he had in mind. The result of this was repeated takes of the same scenes, and our trek across Jakarta if he decided that a particular location was incompatible to his concept. It was tiring, but our hard work was paid by our “work hard-play hard” approach.

  32. I have many unique moments that had happened in the past, even now I still didn’t know those moments suddenly happened. One moment that occurred, even until now it’s still happening, is the moment that I got a friend in university that I can share my thoughts with. It was because of one group homework that we have to do in one of the classes, I got to know her. By the time pass I knew that we went into the same classes in three out of five classes. She’s so friendly the first time I met her, but after time passed, I don’t know what happened, she became ignorant in social media when I want to chat with her. It was so confusing that I happened to think of what I did wrong, it’s my pessimist side that got into me at that time. But when I asked her in the class, she was also confused of the question. So, I let it go for a moment but I still want to checked if everything was okay. I talked with her every time I had the chance or at class break. And it’s true, it was all my imagination. Or is it…

  33. I had the opportunity to experience senior high school in 3 different schools. I studied at a private school for a year when I was in Grade 10, then I moved to a public school the city of Mataram. Between Grade 11 and 12, I went to another school for one academic year of exchange program. But from those three schools, the memories I could never forget were from the second semester in Grade 11.

I had the most diverse combination of students in my class. I have friends from Java, East Indonesia, Sumatera, Kalimantan. I have friends who are athletes (football, basketball, and aquatics), science olympiad, those who never been absent at any class, until those who almost never been present at school during the whole semester. I have friends who are very active on various organization, his skill is to socialize and interact with others, and friends who are very talented at music. In fact, one of my friend was the second runner up of The Voice Indonesia singing competition on 2016. I miss them so much.

  34. One of the best memories that I could think of is when I had a live-in programme in grade 12. I went to Dusun Kamal in Jogja to do a social project with my high school mates, we went there to install a new water pump for the people who lives in the village. However, it is not about us helping the local people; it is about how we get to experience living in such rural area where there is limited amount of clean water and no signal. For me it is like a short getaway from the academic-related obstacles that I had to go through because I learned a lot from the programme, the one that I value a lot is that I became more grateful which is a great thing because I was a bit ungrateful for the blessings that God has given to me. There are people that are less fortunate than I am so I need to be more grateful. It is absurd to moan about small things when there are bigger problems out there. Those people living in the village lives happily and they are very respectful towards each other, something that I admire the most.

  35. I would like to talk about one of the most euphoric moments I experienced in high school. So, back when I was in high school, I had the hysterically idiotic idea to create an acapella group. It was founded by me and my group of friends and was founded upon our lack of any musical ability. We wanted to audition and perform in a huge event our school held at the time; and it is known to select the best of the best. Due to the fact that we had zero musical experience whatsoever, we decided to gather at my friend’s house and take inspiration from the movie ‘Pitch Perfect’. When the audition came along, we were very confident that we had a certain advantage; no one in our school history has attempted singing acapella and we didn’t sound half bad. Needless to say, we flopped the audition. When the announcements came around, I was shocked, to say the least, when I found out that we made the cut. After that day, we practiced literally day and night to prepare for our performance. The night finally arrived and we were extremely nervous and a lot of anxious questions ran across our minds. This was going to be our first ever performance and we really didn’t want to mess it up. In the end, we performed and everyone seemed to love it. After the show, I realized something that changed the course of our group permanently; it was never about the music, it was, is, and always will be about our friendship. Let’s just say that big show wasn’t the last of us.

  36. I love my high school years. I personally view my experience, as a high school student, was truly a once in a lifetime experience. In high school, I made friendships that I knew would last long. In high school, I found out that I favor activities that involve working together with other people. Therefore, I learned that tolerance is the key for a better result. I joined several committees for events and there I worked with people with different personalities and personal views. But we all had the same goal, which was to make an event work. I learned to lower my ego, and so did they, hence, we had more tolerance and appreciation towards each other’s work for an event. What I missed most during my high school years were my friends, to be honest. They were somewhat special. We helped each other during hard times and it felt like everything was easier back then. They were really good friends. They're the best and will always be.

  37. Just like everyone else, I had the best time during my high school years. Every single bit of it was fun and memorable. Instead of something remarkable and important, the small and insignificant moments are the ones that I hold on to the most. Just like how I would spend my lunch break sitting in the middle of the hallway forming circle everyday with the same group of friends, sharing stories and foods. Sometimes other people would come and join the circle, and the circle would be so big that it would block the hallway, preventing people to pass through. In that circle, we found our similarities and differences, we shared experiences and learned from it, we found our common ground, and most importantly we shape a friendship that would last forever. Now, we are all in different places, chasing our own dreams. We know that we won’t be seeing each other a lot anymore, but we put efforts in staying in touch with each other.

  38. In high school, I joined many extracurricular activities but the most remarkable one was The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE for short). This program pushes young people to their personal limits and recognises their achievements. At first, I joined this program just for the fun because I have seen photos and videos from my senior during their expedition and it looked cool and challenging so I wanted to join. After I joined, I realized that this program was not all about fun and games. It involves commitment, determination, and hard work. The program required me to do physical activity, voluntary service, and personal interest development every single week and it was actually very tiring and time consuming. But I did not give up because if I failed to do those activities every week, I would not be able to go to the expedition which is the most exciting part.

I have completed DofE at Bronze and Silver level. During my very first expedition; the practice expedition for Bronze, my team and I had to walk for approximately 15km per day for two days and on top of that we had some activities to do. It was probably the two most tiring days of my life because it was my first time being exposed to this kind of challenge. But I was really thankful of the teammates I had because we were cheering each other up and motivating each other to reach our goal and complete the program. So during our walk in the desert, we were singing, joking around, getting to know each other more, and we also cooked and ate together, and all that created a bond between each of us and it made us closer to each other. The expedition has taught me many things: team work, determination, commitment, patient, and trust.

  39. Having to go to a boarding school based high school gave me many lessons and memories in life. I remember being surrounded by so many girls crying, missing their families and friends back home. But because I live around my friends for 24/7 continuously for three years, we have a friendship bond that no reguler high school students could ever experience. Having a group of friends that I consider as my own family, being each other's sisters from another mister. I can not explain the love that we have for each other. We help, support, care, protect, and cherish each other like no others. Even our moms have a group in the Whatsapp app just so we could keep in touch with each other. We learned about tolerance, patience, respect, loyalty, and so many more than just 150 words to write. We've been through ups and downs, thick and thin, sticks and stones but regardless, I'm proud of what me and my friends have achieved, for the person that we are today and the person that we will become in the future.

  40. I think the most memorable moment in high school was the moment I failed or didn’t pass to grade 12 so I had to repeat grade 11 again. It was a really devastating moment for me at that time, I still remember my reaction when I saw my report card and I was so devastated at that time, not because I hate to repeat for another year. But, because I knew that I had to repeat it without any of my close friends, because I’m not a really outgoing person so I knew that it was going to be hard for me to get a new friend just like the situation now in university. After I didn’t pass my parents was very disappointed with me and the first thing they did after we got home was giving some advice that actually I don’t really care that much because I knew that it was just some other thing to do before they really got mad at me. So yeah, first they’re being kind and after they’ll just go mad at me like the advice before was just some warm up or something. So I think that’s all I can really remember from my high school experience. Thanks - Dimasbitel ( Dimas Aditya Permana)

  41. High school has taught me so many things. It felt like a new chapter to me—a new beginning. I remember it vividly the first day I got into high school, it was very overwhelming, not in a good way though. It was rather more complicated than what I had in mind. What makes it even worse is the fact that everyone seems to know everyone, while I barely knew anyone because I was in a private junior high. This really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Thankfully though, I had a really good support system: my family, my junior high friends, etc. It turns out my friends were experiencing the exact same thing, so each and every day passed by, we would talk about it all night long. Although there was this one night and it was such a turning point to me when I made a promise to myself that I would go out of my comfort zone and I wouldn’t try to be someone else to fit in, I would just be myself—be me.

Because I believe good people will come eventually, and luckily I was right. Long story short, on my senior year, I was chosen to be the head of yearbook committee. It was such a big deal since my school didn’t want to get involved in such things, so it was pure the committee’s responsibility. It worn me out at the beginning, because every day, I had to cope up with 520 people. But at the end of the day, this event is really the reason why I’m here at FEB UGM. After dealing with yearbook, I just had this urge feeling like “what am I going to do after high school?” I knew I was going to college for sure but I didn’t have a vision of what my future looks like. Thankfully, I found my passion throughout the whole process, and since then I knew that I want to do this for the rest of my life.

  42. I had a lot of memories in high school, bad memories and good memories of course. I was a student at Bopkri Satu Senior High School, which is located not that far from UGM. My class consists of 31 students, so my class was pretty crowded, because my class was a science class, there were only a few of female students in my class. My fun memories of high school was in 11th grade, when we were going to Bali for a study tour for six days and five nights, it was fun because we had no school for a whole week and we basically went for a holiday with our classmates. We went to Bali from Jogja with 10 big busses. It was a long and tiring trip, but it was fun, the trip alone was for three days and two nights. After we arrived in Bali, we stayed in a hotel for four days and three days, the hotel was fine in my opinion. In Bali we went to a lot of places such as Kuta beach, the GWK, a zoo, and a lot of other places. It was an amazing experience.

  43. Highs school year was a busy year, I spent three years surrounded by amazing people plus I got some new experiences that I wont forget. I remember when me and my classmates had a photoshoot for our yearbook and it was out of town, we drove cars by ourselves and it took two hours to get there. Right after the photo session we had dinner together in a restaurant. At that time, everyone talked. We talked about everything; the time and memories we had together, the path we’re going to take, and all the good and bad things being a student. One the greatest thing about being a high school student is that we grow together and share our stories and get the chance to decide what we want to do. No wonder, people would say that high school memories was the best memories. And for that, I’m grateful.

  44. In most of high school my life has been pretty dull, because most of it consist of me and my significant other. Every single day would be just the two of us sitting next to each other eating lunch and such. A special point in my high school life might be DBL. If you guys don't know what DBL is, it is a high school level basketball tournament held at almost every province in Indonesia. So i was a shooting guard in my team named "pelita cendana" where we won 4 games and lost in the semi finals. It was dissapointing because we practiced really hard for 6 months straight 3 times a week.

  45. High school memories, something that make me miss my home town. I remember back then, it was so cheesy and pretty embarrassing. I used to be a douche, maybe that’s the correct word to describe me. But in my defense I don’t feel like it because here’s my argument. I was interested to one of my friend since I was met, like literally the first time I saw her, at my first glance, I talk to my self “yeah, this is the one”. So after that day, I started to make a first step by texting her and sometimes talking to her in class but gosh, it’s the hardest thing ever. Every time I send a message to her, she’s just left me on read, and every time I try to talk to her, I just standing there, like a statue. So I can’t really build a good communication with her. So just like any other man, I started to talk her friends, about every single woman in that class and asking about her personal things and I found it pretty helpful. Suddenly, there is a rumors that most of her friends that giving me information about my crush is having a crush on me. It was a total nightmare. I was shunned by every single woman in my class and they start to influence my crush that I’m a total douche and giving an advice to not to go with me. I also can not do any thing because I think that it’s not really my fault. So in my first year, I don’t really interact much with girls in my class. I also ended up being a just a friend with my crush. Its kind of a sad story but its really not. In the senior year, I ended up together with my crush and she’s here with me in Yogyakarta because we attend the same university with a different faculty. Trust me guys, maybe god has a different plan for you. Just, don’t gave up that easily. Maybe He wanted to give you something to learn before you have what you want.

  46. For someone who has stayed in the same school from the first grade until graduation, it is hard to choose the most memorable event throughout my school life. The biggest highlight of my school life without hesitation was high school, year 12 specifically. My final school year consisted of meeting lots of new people, learning street knowledge more than book knowledge, heart-breaks, unlawful actions and lots of other new experiences. The most iconic event was the high school boat party that I hosted. I rented a double-decker dhow which is a traditional Arabic boat for 4 hours, invited 25 people from my year group, brought pizzas and doughnuts, horlix and karak (an Arabic drink that everyone should try) which was perfect because these beverages were suitable for cold weather considering the event occurred in the winter. On top of that we celebrated a friend’s birthday where we bought two cakes and stuck a condom on top of it with the writings “Have Saif sex” on it since he was called Saif. Other than that, we spent the rest of our time diving in the sea with the water temperature being 10 Celsius. This was one of those nights where I wish I could relive again.

  47. I wasn’t really into taking multiple events and enrolling into three or five organizations at once, and I would say that I was one of the “marginalized” due to my lack of participation in such activities. Back at the high school I joined only the Silat club and the school’s platoon , sort of the equivalent of the “Color Guard”. Because the platoon only had a few competitions for us to join, I thought, at that time, Silat can give me the glory that I seek and dreamt of. The first year wasn’t really a good year for my medal tally, I was only able to win myself a 2nd place during a championship on a local event. I was finally able to find my conviction during the second semester of the first year. I prepared my first national championship during my second year for approximately 3 months, spending 6 out of 7 days in a week for training, 3 days at school and another 3 on my own, I even arrived school at 5.30 in the morning to go for a run around the school before the class, I even took bath in the school’s toilet. I sparred against heavier seniors even though I had to cut 8 kgs of weight. In the championship, I had a fever during the quarter finals but managed to get to the finals where, well, my fever came around again and I had to fight a national champion with an awful headache. Unfortunately, I got knocked out at the 3rd round so the referee had to stop the fight, and I ended up at the 2nd place, again. Still, I was proud of it because it was decent adversaries that I faced, and I had fun.

  48. High school was a long time ago for me, however, there are some stories that I will never forget. Is funny to go back to the memories and realize how dumb I used to be, and how I gave so much importance to things with no sense. Anyways, I will tell you one story about my silly days in school. You should understand that the Latin-American culture is kind of crazy; we love to party and to mess around, especially teenagers. So every year, the senior class does a surprise attack at school in order to celebrate that we finished. That day was one of the best days I had in high school; we painted our uniforms, bought tons of shaving cream and hair gel, inflated lots of water balloons and attack the school, students and teachers. Before the attack, the school directive warned us that we were only able to throw water balloons, but of course, we decided to break up the rules a little bit. After the mess, they were so mad at us that they almost cancelled our graduation, nevertheless, in the end, we just ended doing one day of community service as punishment.

  49. I went to school In Amsterdam, the capital of The Kingdom of The Netherlands. I went to the “Montessori Lyceum Amsterdam”, one of the biggest and best schools in the city. I had an amazing time there and still think of it with warm feelings. My memory of this period consists of mainly highlights. The Montessori system, which puts all the responsibilities with the students by giving them a lot of freedom, gave the school a relaxed atmosphere. One of the best moments there, was the last school day before the final exams. The tradition is that the final year students organize a party at school on this day, so it happened. We all gathered early in the morning and started with consuming a lot of alcohol. Everyone was dressed up like the ancient Greeks, however, I misunderstood the theme and accidentally came as a Farao.
We rented a jumping cushions trial, hired DJ’s, bought paint powder and made an unforgettable party with all the eighteen hundred students. The concierge recently told me that they are still talking about this day now and then.

  50. During the three years that I spent at my high school, I experienced a lot of things. However, there’s one thing that I’ve never experienced. It is the need to adapt to a new school. This is because I didn’t move to other school after I graduated from the secondary level. I continued my studies at the same place where I’ve studied for more than six years, meeting the same teachers and friends. This doesn’t make my high school life boring though. Although I’m quite fed-up meeting the same people since I was eight years old, there’s a lot of memories that I could share through this post.

The moment that in my opinion is necessary to be shared is probably the moment when my seniors and I won a high school level futsal competition. This occurred when I was in the tenth grade, while they are on their final year. I am so proud and grateful that I could win the cup with them; but what makes me even more grateful is that I got to make friends with them through the long time we spent together in trainings; we formed some kind of bond and still connected even after they graduated and left the school. I would consider this moment as crazy as well though; because we were actually playing without the legal permit from school; they made fake school authorization letter (note: school permit was necessary to join the competition). Although it was quite risky, it was so memorable.

  51. Memories about high school that I remembered the most is when I was in my senior year. Nothing special happened during that time, but somehow, despite of how stressing and hectic it was, that time was actually the best time of my life. Being able to be with my friends all day long the whole week to just study. I used to join this extra tutor where we studied for college preparations. We used to study up till 10 p.m. but the funniest thing is that we never complained. We studied from 7 a.m. and went home at 10 p.m. but we had so much fun anyway. We struggled together, we studied together and when we finally separated to reach our own dreams, I was sad yet I was feeling so proud of all of my friends. The one who made it to the university they want and those who didn't, I was proud of both of them. They turned into such a different person, from lazy to hard-working, and I think that was the main point. And now that they're pursuing their dreams, I sometimes feels like they are still around me cheering me up everytime I said that I'm tired or when I wasn't feeling well. High school might not be that interesting but thanks to it, now I am able to be who I am today. Also, I met a lot of people I truly care and loves in high school.

  52. It was actually one of the memorable moments happened in my high school. There was a school program organized by the student council named Festival Budaya 8 (Cultural Festival). Every class gets to represent one country to be promoted in a stand given and a performance with a duration of five to ten minutes. My class luckily got India, according to what we have discussed before that we wanted to represent India because the culture is unique and eccentric. I was the coordinator of the stand and also one of the performers. My class was a little bit procrastinator until it was only one week left when we haven’t practice for the performance and also haven’t prepared the decoration for the stand. So, on the last days we worked really hard because this event is very competitive among classes. Then we came up with an idea to rent an elephant ride that could be found in a mall, because we think it would be great to perform with that elephant. The preparation for the performance was only in a few days, but luckily we have a dancer in our class that could make the choreography. The crazy thing was until it was a day left, the choreography haven’t finished yet. So the fourteen of us slept over at one of my friends’ house to practice. We were practicing until 3 a.m., while we have to perform at 7 in the morning. The result was astonishing though, we got first place both in performance and stand.

  53. I was in a group of eleven people with five guys and six girls in it. The group started nearing the end of grade ten and continued until all of us graduated high school. I had lots of fun playing online games often with my guy friends, chatting about Kpop with my girl friends (not girlfriends), and also going to places with all of them at the same time. Like any usual group of friends, there was fun, laughter, sadness and arguments…but the saddest moment for me is when two of my guy friends distanced themselves from me for reasons kind of blurry nearing the end of grade eleven. Another one of them just didn’t click with me that much which was why we didn’t talk much. There was only this one stupid and amusing guy friend of mine who didn’t distanced himself from me no matter what happened and cheered me up like any friend would. When we graduated, me and one of the guys that distanced himself forgave each other and went back being normal friends with the other one having no conclusion whatsoever. I was and still am grateful for that one friend that didn’t abandon me no matter what. By the time I reached university, I found three new amazing guy friends that truly cared for me & each other where we can be as crazy and playfully-insulting as we want and am blessed with this meaningful friendship we made which I will treasure for the rest of my life.

  54. There are so many memories that I still remember and favor from high school but I'd like to tell you the memory of how I got close with my four best friends. It was in Grade 11 and I knew nobody since the class got mixed up according to our choice in study. I had always got social anxiety when I met groups of people that I didn't know of since I considered myself as an introvert. Every morning I had always been the first to come in class and my best friends came in really early too but still we didn't know each other at first until one morning, I joined their conversation about something that I forgot, I believe it was about K-Pop and out of nowhere, one of them invited me and my other best friends to explored Semarang. Since I had nothing on that weekend, I said yes. That has been one of my greatest choice in my life. Fast forward to the weekend, we went to a cafe named Lakers which was so far from the city, we took many pictures together but we didn't have lunch there. We went to KFC that was considerably not very far from the cafe. We joked and laughed and told many stories. We decided to go home but as we passed by Lawang Sewu, we decided to pulled over and parked the car to close our day with visiting Lawang Sewu. We had been best friends since then and we got each other back until now.

  55. High school always be a sweet memory to some people. I am going to tell you about mine in scary story I once experienced with my friends. When I was in the first semester of high school, I was in boarding school so I lived in dorm from Monday to Saturday. I had a good time with my friends there. But, one day, we were casually having chat before we go to sleep. There was nothing wrong happened until we fell asleep. Someone wake up and found hairs in front of one of my friend’s bed. She was freaking out so she made the rest of the room wake up. We were so scared at that night until we decided to sleep together in a bed. It was not big enough for three girls to sleep together, but we did it! The fear is way more bigger than the pain to sleep with two girls in a single bed!

  56. Kolese De Britto Senior High School is home to more than 600 students coming from 28 different provinces. Graduating from a boys only school filled with all sorts of people coming from different geographical and social backgrounds really made a difference in my life. There are lots of memories of high school in my head, and each is equally significant. One time, my friend was in a very complicated problem and he decided to run away to Pontianak without notifying his parents. We tried to convince him not to go there and he said that he is going to ride to Malioboro to clear his mind, so we let him do so. Me and my friends anxiously waited for his arrival back to my friend’s house as it is already past the middle of the night. At around 1 am, my friend saw his snapchat story tagged with a Semarang geo-location sticker, indicating that he is in Semarang. One of my friends asked the vice principal for student affairs for permission to go to Semarang, so we met with him at the school to explain the situation. It was around 2 am when we decided to go to Semarang to fetch him. We arrived at Tanjung Perak Harbour early in the morning and we asked the authority to search my friend’s name in the manifest, but his name wasn’t there. We divided ourselves into small groups and looked around the area. Finally, one of my friends found him sitting alone in front of an indomaret shop. When I arrived, all kinds of feelings came up and It was very emotional. We all convinced him to go to his dad’s house in Akademi Kepolisian to rest and go back to Yogyakarta by the evening. We all later helped solve his issue and all turned out just fine.

  57. Among all the other categories, I’m going to pick the craziest moment. Although it should be taken a note of that what I mean by craziest may not be the same with what many of you might have expected. It all happened when I was on the twelfth grade in high school when I would often spend most of my lunch time away from canteens and other areas which were always full of students with their friends. Since my lunch time would last for about forty minutes in the afternoon, I would do my afternoon Muslim prayer in a place where drivers as well as elderlies often gathered together to chat, rest, eat, and do Muslim prayers. I would spend much of time in those afternoons to converse dialogues with people older than me in an attempt to get to know more about them. Not only that, even if when no one was around, the area was a quiet and comfy place to lie down and contemplate as I let my mind wander to places where it was not possible under a circumstance of being surrounded with noises. One day, one of my friends from middle school came to me and asked me to take him to the place where I would usually spend my lunch time at as I sought solitude. Once I brought him there, immediately the topics that we usually had in middle school turned into questions about morality and sometimes even reaching as far as discussing about religious beliefs. Moreover, his personality had also changed to becoming a much better person that my middle school self wouldn’t have recognised him if he were already that way from the very beginning. He had left his old self-destructing personality who would always blame different forms of misfortunes to the way the world was organised, to a person who would struggle no matter whatever impediments that may befall him on his every step. This was literally the craziest as well as the proudest moment for me to know how my friend had changed to someone that was easier to talk with. I no longer needed to worry about choosing the right word to say in an attempt to not offend him and pathetically turn the whole atmosphere upside down. I was glad to have met him when I did.

  58. This is the most savage thing I have ever done in my life and I am so proud of it. When I was in Junior High School, as you know, I am very humorist and like to laugh a lot. My “hobby” to make fun of many things turned out to be just a little bit too far for my Counselling Teacher. When she was in my class, it is her course to review our grade of mid term of second semester in grade 8. Guess what happened next? I was laughing and joke around with my friends and then she asked me about how well was my mid-term exam; I could not answer her because I did not remember at all about my mark. Her respond was so unnecessary in my opinion, she told me with shouting that I am “bodoh” or in English is like idiot, fool. That one moment in my life, even my parents never said any bad words to me, and for “stranger” to shout to me like that? I am not going to let her go. The next final exam, I tried really hard and pray to God that I can get good grade for this one. I wanted to show her that it is a foolish act to judge people only by their first impression or appearance. Thanks to God, I was in first place parallel with much higher grade than the second one. It was like the most satisfying things I have ever done; it was all because of God’s help. The Next week, I asked her, intentionally of course, “Ma’am, who is the number one student of this year?” She just answered with sorry and I said that I already forgave her before, but at the end, I hope that she got my point to prove her judgement based on first impression was wrong and to never do that again. Praise the Lord.

  59. I can say that high school is the most memorable moment in my life, there are several moments that I will never forget. Back in high school, I’m not an ambitious student that I nearly spend my high school period having fun with my friends. Because I spend most of my time with my friends, it’s one one of the reason that I have a tight bond with my high school friends. Me and my friends would skip classes and hang around school, we would find a coy spot around my school and binge watching tv series and movies while eating snacks. Sometimes I get in trouble by skipping classes, but those moment that I spend with my friends is the most important thing. However, when I was already in the last year of high school, I started to panic. I panic because I rarely study in class and sometime sleep while the teacher is explaining, and I’m worried I can’t do my exams. I have to start thinking about getting into university, and I’m worried I can’t get into any university because the lack of studying back when I was in high school. But then I overcame this, and I never regret those moment with my friends back in high school.

  60. I think I'm going to share one of my craziest moment in Junior High School. When I'm on my junior high school, i have 7 best friends. All of my best friends are crazy and very fun. I'm blessed to have them in my life. We like to do something crazy and because of that, everyone knows about our squad. The squad that always do some crazy things. I'm the tiniest one in my squad so my friends like to ask me to do something that they couldn't do like climbing the roof and put someone stuffs on the roof so they can't take it, secretly get into storage rooms to get some stuffs, and a lot of things. The most craziest moment is when my friends ask me to get into the chicken and bird cage in my school. My school have a very big chicken and bird cage. SInce this cage is big, so my friends have an idea to put me in the cage and ask me to pretending to be a chicken and I'm willing to do it because i like to do something fun and memorable. That is one of the craziest moment in my life.

  61. If we talk about my high school life, I don’t think there was a day that wasn’t filled with crazy things. I have always imagined my high school life to be filled with fun adventures and romance. However, the reality was a complete opposite of it. There wasn’t a day in my high school life that we weren’t hectic in trying to complete our assignments, trying to memorize every scientific name for our biology and papers filled with formulas for physics, or trying our best to not be late and arrive in class before 6.30 in the morning. Not showering is a normal occurrence and there were a lot of rules in my school that was related with students being overly ambitious in their academic life. An example is that we weren’t allowed to bring notes to study in the auditorium (usually for ceremonies and religious service). I am extremely thankful that I had amazing, and equally crazy friends. I’m pretty sure I would’ve never been able to survive my high school life without them. My high school life was hectic, stressful, and draining in every sense of the way, but I do not regret my choice to study in that particular school.

  62. Through the ups and downs, highs and lows, good and bad of moments of high school, I am clearly sure we all have uncountable moments that are impossible to forget. Me, personally I don’t get comfortable easily to share and tell stories about my personal life to people, but in this comment I think I will share a bit of mine. One of my scariest moments was not facing off ghosts of course as I don’t believe in such things, it was getting so close to fall off my school’s rooftop. I had like a good time in high school being a kid who did not want to just study and learn. I wanted to explore myself on my choices and my bravery to break the rules. Especially school’s rules, they suck. Back in the good old days, we used to have so many empty classes, I mean the teachers did not come to my class often.

    1. So instead of doing the tasks and the works that temporary teacher gave us, I encouraged my friends to just go out of the classroom and spend times on different places lol. One of those unique places we go to on our illegal hours was the school’s rooftop. So we went up to the highest level of the building, there was this ladder in the back of the electricity room , climbed up the ladder and we would end up at the fresh air of the highest spot in the building that was supposed to give us education. During our times in the rooftop, we did not just hang out. It was a social place to socialize with my closest part of the society. We talked about life, about new songs, not to forget about girls, about what we were going to do after we finish school, and peep talks consisting of insults towards each other that was just making us closer and closer as friends, as brothers.

    2. I was a science class students, but I hang out most of the times at school with my social class friends. One time we was climbing up the ladder and somehow there was a kind of lube in one of the steps of the ladder. My friends pushed and yelled at me to go up faster so I ignored the lube clinching in my shoes. By the time we got into the top, we always had to go through a small and tight space to reach to our finest spot. Going through the small gap, the right side of me is one of the roofs, and the left side of me was completely the emptiness of air aka the freedom of flying like free birds. I was so focused on talking to my friends and laughing at things, I stumbled at a cable line. I had my self stabled on balancing, but then when I finally stepped my shoe to the floor, the lube started giving a show.

    3. I was not able to sustain myself on standing and I felt extreme fear of falling to my left, to 30 meters of ground below. Luckily, out of nowhere a pair of hands grabbed my back to hold me off. It was my friend, and to hold the weight of my body it was also my other friend to pull my friend’s body. So we kind of made a chain to pull each other and we finally stood still. We had like really big breaths and shocked faces shown to each other. We started to pay attention to the floor we were walking onto since then. Imagine if I really did fall on that moment, I would not be here in Yogyakarta, in FEB UGM, meeting all these fresh faces and starting my new life. Maybe it was a fate for me to have hands to hold my back on that moment, or maybe it was just luck. Regardless I am grateful that I am still given the chance to live. I apologize sir for putting 4 comments in this topic, I enjoyed writing this so much. Good day, sir .

  63. High school, it’s the best years of my life so far. The time when I got my first car, the year when I met the person with a same name, same fate I can say as well as similar life experience. As well as this person who called me “the spawn of satan” back when we first met during the level camp back in grade 10. These people, whom I can call as best friend of all time since we mostly spend our Friday night, breaking the silence with our unimaginably loud laughters when we play online games, not only that, when we visited each other’s houses, our neighbors sometime complained regarding our noise level like when they visited my house before I moved to the new neighborhood. That’s hilariously awesome since when we got complaints from this old and annoying woman which keeps on telling me to reduce our noise level while my parents both didn’t care regarding that. It’s something bad tho, but we increase our noise level everytime that she called us and at the end, no more calls from this old woman. While back when we hangout in a mall near our school, up until today we still thinks that we are about to be kicked out from the mall by the security due to the amount of “craziness” stuffs we did back then. For me, it was the best high school memories that I’ve ever had and experience.

  64. I studied at a very strict high school. it was so bad that even coming to class smelling of cigarettes could get you expelled. During that time almost all of my friends were smokers, and we had to constantly look for a place to smoke so that the security guards won't catch us doing it. During one night on a Sunday my friends and I had the idea of knocking ourselves out smoking on top of the dormitory rooftops. So on 2 in the morning we 'borrowed' a ladder from a storage shed and took it to the attic from the communal bathroom and climbed on top of the roof carrying blankets and snacks and even laptops. We ended up spending the night on the roof and we came down to our teachers waiting for us. We got scolded after that but nevertheless it was the best moment in my high school.

  65. My High school years was the most memorable time of my life. One of my most memorable memory was when I was being a member of the school’s student’s council. I was the secretary of the student’s council back then. In that organization I learned a lot in this organization, I learned how to deal with sponsors, how to arrange meetings, and above all to be a better person in organizational perspective. Because of the organization my grades are going down, in my first year of high school education was not the main goal of my high school life. By the second year of high school I realized that I made a mistake by letting my grades slip, my parents were supportive towards me being member of the student’s council but they do not like that I let my grades slip because of organization purposes. So I promised to myself and to my parents also that I will improve my grades otherwise I will quit being a member of the student’s council. And with the help of god I managed to improve my grades and retain my role in the student’s council.

  66. If I’m going to talk about my most memorable high school moment, it’s not going to be about the wonderful times I spent with my good friends, the effort it took and the for my band to win a competition, and the joy it brings, the moments I slept in class for hours on end… no, no. I’m going to talk about the time I had my first supernatural experience.

There was this leadership training that was conducted every year in my school, and by the time I reach the senior year, I was one of the committee of that event. There was this one segment where us third graders needed to scare our juniors. Before this segment happened, a lot of my friends was having a quarrel about whether we should do the scare or not, because maybe it could cause the “residence” of the school to be mad, I was always a skeptic about those things so I thought my friends was just being ridiculous. We would decide to do it either way in the end.

The way we do it was, the junior was would messed up classrooms and the groups of juniors would seat in the floor, listening to a senior telling scary stories while two other senior cause some ruckus in the back of the class while being hidden, and of course the lights are off.

I was one of the ones that was suppose to cause a ruckus. The first group that came in was really scared, and I had a blast scaring them, I tried to hide my laugh so badly when some of them was genuinely scared, the second one was not the same though.

When it was time for the second group, I was still confident and happy. The storyteller was telling the story and me and my friend was getting ready to cause a ruckus. When the story was going to end and we got ready for the climax, I knocked the drawer three times, I paused for a bit to hold my laugh and then knocked it again. Then, there was another knock coming from inside the drawer. There was no other logical explanation on why it’d happened, I’m still beyond believe to this day.

  67. High school is the best thing I've experienced in my life so far, there are so much memories whether good or bad and it makes my high school life more interesting. I have 6 very close friends, we go anywhere together whether go to the canteen and even to the toilet. Every day we will spend most of our break time together and it was so fun and after school we went to take outside courses together also and when our school and courses are finished then at home we were playing together again. Usually after 9 pm we turned on our ps4 and started to play together we often play "Pro Club" on fifa and our skill is not bad at all, once we were chose to represent Indonesia at the southeast asia pro club competition and our achievement was not bad at all, we were defeating the champions of Singapore with a 3-1 score but then we lose eventually to Malaysia with a 2-1 score.

  68. High school is without a doubt going to be one of those memorable moment that wont be forgotten by us. I my self had a lot of great experiences and priceless moment during my high school period. By looking at others comment, i can see that most people were talked about their experiences with their friends. Therefore to make it a bit interesting, i’m going to tell you one of my creepy high school moment experienced by me alone. So basically, it was Monday morning and i arrived at school too early. There was only a few janitor and security at that time. Then i decided to go to the restroom in the 3rd floor. Once i entered the restroom, i can clearly hear a woman humming one of Indonesian song inside one of the closet which i remembered was closed. At this point, i was a little shook because it was 6.30 AM in the morning, there was no one in the 3rd floor (as far as i know), and the voice was came out from the mens restroom. Due to my stupid curiosity, i tried to have a peek from the bottom of the closet, and i can assure you that there was no one inside that closet. At that moment, i was just act cool because i’m not really terrified by this kind of stuff, walk off to the 1st floor, and wait there until my friend arrived.

  69. I have to say high school period is one of the best period in my life. During high school I learned and experienced a lot of new things. I have different high school period since I was an exchange student for a year, I had to spend 4 years to finish high school. Although, high school wasn’t all fairy tale, it’s definitely not as I pictured after I watched High School Musical. However, I’m just going to tell you some of the important moments of my high school. My proudest moment was when I got back from finishing my exchange year. I was proud that I survived living in another country and came home alive. I don’t really have saddest moment, however it was sad that we had to go to separate ways after finishing high school. One moment that I still remember is when I was waiting for the IUP announcement. That time I know that I messed up during the test and the interview, that’s why I was so pessimistic about being accepted. I couldn’t eat well, I wasn’t in the mood all the time because of it. The day of announcement, I was with my friend hanging out at Yogyakarta’s China town called Ketandan. It was during the Chinese New Year so it was so crowded. When I was about to open my phone to look at the announcement, I was so nervous and about to cry to be honest. I was sitting while all of my friends was circling around me to look at the announcement too. My hand trembled so bad when I was about to open it, but then I got accepted, me and all of my friends were screaming and surprised people around us. That was probably one of the happiest moment of my high school.

  70. My high school might be a little different with the others as I only spent 2 years for high school in a small class with only 16 people in it. As I was in an accelerated program, my schedule used to be very tight from my 10th up to my 11th grade that is why, my classmate and I rarely spent time to go out and chill together. The most memorable moment of my high school life was when we went to one village in East Java for our live in. In these 4 days that we spent there, we really had time to bond while at the same time experience how life was at that village. There, we were taught to plant, farm, cook, etc. Despites all of our naughtiness during our high school till our disciplinary teacher is tired of giving my batch detentions, I found my class as a very solid class. We support each other through ups and downs including motivating two of our classmates who are incapable of graduating, to graduate together with us. As we enter high school in a 16 people batch, we should as well leave high school in a solid 16 people batch.

  71. My favorite high school memories is when me and my group went to Lombok for a field trip. We went to the airport together with a bus from our school. Little jokes that we made during that time was so memorable. When we arrive at the resort that we were staying at we all gathered in one small room and just laugh and talk about random things. Staying until midnight chilling and listening to the sound of the calming waves. The next day we went to the beach and played under the sun, took lots of pictures, and played by the seashore. We went there by bus with all of my classmates. By this time we were already in the same class for more than a year so we were all close. We made jokes about the people sleeping, my teacher’s funny laugh, the weird smell in the bus and many more inside jokes that no one other than us would not understand.

  72. What makes my school memorable is that we experienced flood so often. It may seem weird, but yes, I have experienced more than 10 floods during my high school years. Our teachers did not dismiss us even if it floods until it reaches our knee, and floods can actually reach up until the second floor of our school's building. Anyway, we were then placed in a building owned by the government in order to replace our classes since floods may reach up to three weeks. Because there were very few classes, the class hours that is supposed to begin at 6.30 up to 15.00 is then divided to two sessions; morning and afternoon so we would only have approximately 4 hours of classes per day. The fun part is that it is located in Kuningan, an area in Jakarta that is so close to malls and shops so most of us skipped class nearly every day. I would say that being able to get home early and skip classes due to flood were the moments that distinguishes my high school moments to any other schools in Jakarta.

  73. My life in highschool is fantastic . Mostly because of most of my friends are delinquents ,crazy and fun. I wouldn’t be as eager as i was to attend school if it wasn’t for my friends. Some of the few reasons which keeps me going to school is meeting my group of friends and hanging out. I like hanging out a lot eventhough i know that it’s probably a waste of time. We have this place called WIG near our school. It is a small “warung” behind the school where we usually smoke, eat and hangout. Eventhough it is near the school the teachers rarely come and dismiss us. However i was a latecomer. My friends joined thegroup since grade 10 and 11 while i joined by the second semester of grade 11. One of the reason i joined late was because i wanted to avoid the humiliating and annoying intiation process you have to undergo to hangout at WIG. To avoid hat i joined when i was grade 11 where the seniors were relatively more nice compared to those 2 years older than us.

  74. Highschool was where I explore myself and the world around me. It is where I explore my strengths and weaknesses, adapt to my surroundings, and understand my surrounding. During highschool I was lucky enough to have studied abroad and compare the culture and traditions between countries.

But because it was the time where I explored myself, it was also the wildest moments of my life. And adding on the fact that I studied abroad where the limits are different, I pushed myself to the limits and sometimes beyond. One of the craziest moments during my highschool period was when I stole food from my school cafeteria.

It was 1 am, my friends and I are studying and preparing for our final exams. While studying, one of us was hungry but we had no food to cook or eat. So we had an idea, why don't we steal eggs from the cafeteria.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. We knew how to go in, we knew where they kept the eggs, we knew that no one usually guards the cafeteria, especially the eggs. So we went in, go to where the eggs are and take as many eggs as planned, which was 8 in total. But after taking the eggs, we decided to explore the cafeteria more and search for other food. We got a watermelon, a box of cereal, bread, and eggs. But then we suddenly heard someone unlocking the door from another entrance. We panicked, we rushed out through the way in. I was trying to rush out quietly but fast. But my friend, he was just rushing through everything, knocking everything blocking his way. Luckily we got out, but I really hope that whoever went in that night, didn’t see who we were. But ever since that night, the cafeteria is always guarded by one person.

  75. Aside from that group i have a more small and close group of friends. It’s called Mandown and it consists of only 6 boys who have several things in common. We like games, we are petrolheads who like joyrides and racing and that we enjoy doing crazy stuff most people would think twice to do. Our daily routine is to hangout in a newly build complex where there is a large lake surrounded by a small patch of grass and trees by the cluster. The place is very comfortable in my opinion as there are lots of food sellers nearby. Well Starling and street food vendors to be exact. We usually spend our time just chatting, eating listening to music by the lake and a little bit of drift practice. The roads are quite large and windy so we usually practice drifting just for the sake of it It’s very fun until the security guards come and asks us to leave.

  76. I have a lot of good memories from high school, but I think my best one is from a four days trip we made to Paris. In my second year of high school, some of the History teachers organized a trip to Paris for their first-year students. As the teachers were looking for some more students to take part to this trip, my friends and I volunteered and were accepted. During these four days we had a lot of fun and we were really enjoying our free time. The best moments were the nights. We were all staying in the same hotel in room of two or three people, and the teachers didn’t want us to go in other rooms. But every night we used to choose one of our rooms to organize a little party without the teachers knowing it. When we were hearing some noise outside of the room, we would turn off the light, turn down the music and everyone would get silent so that we wouldn’t get caught. That was adding some more fun to the party.

  77. My high school experience was probably not as great and not as long as the others have written in this section. Same as Aditya, i also went throught my high school in an acceleration program. I graduated in only 2 years, unlike the others who normally needs 3 years to finish the highschool. I was in a class of 26 people, the last 26 people who experienced the acceleration program in my highschool. 2 years with them was not the easiest thing to forget, because in those 2 years, i experienced a lot of things with them. A lot of emotions went throughout those years, and a lot of supports also being given to each other throughout those 2 years. My unforgettable memory with them was when we were going on a trip to Bali, we were having fun in the bus together, we were bonding tighter than ever before. We were in one bus full of madness and happiness. I could say that because of 2 years of being together, we were a solid group of 26 people with different characters which completes each other, and up until now, we often still do group video calls, or just chat in the group chat with some jokes told by all of my classmates, or i call them, my own family.

  78. High school has become one of my best memory in life. Because comparing to college life, my life in high school was a lot easier than right now. I remember one moment when I felt like my life was in such huge disaster. One day I got a class with one of my ‘killer’ teacher and she taught mathematics. I don’t know why some of my friends were still brave enough to skip the class when they actually knew that if they skipped the class, they put their selves in danger because if this teacher realized they were not in class, they would probably die. Well, one of my friend skipped the class. Usually the teacher didn’t call the students’ name one by one to know our presence in the class, only need to sign in the presence paper. So, one of my friend who skipped the class tell me to sign in his name because he wanted to go out of the class. I thought that it would be just fine because my teacher wouldn’t realize anyway, so I signed in his name. Turned out, that day was unlucky day for me. Out of the 3 years I studied mathematics with this teacher, why would she called students’ name one by one on that day when I signed in my friend’s name. When it came to my friend’s name, she called his name and he was not there, then my teacher asked the students in class, why there was his signature but he wasn’t in the class. I still kept being quiet and pretended knowing nothing because I thought that it would pass anyway. Turned out, it became such a very huge problem because if there was no one who wanted to admit signing up in his name, she would give 0 score to all students in class. There were two options for me, either I would be the only one who got 0 score or all of my friends got 0 score because of me (which was actually not doing the wrong thing at all only signed up my friend’s presence). But I chose to admit and told the truth although I got bad mark from her. One of my worst memory.

  79. There’s so many things to write about my times in high school. Probably too many. I had to take some time to reminiscent all the good times I had. That’s probably the reason most people would describe that high school was 'the best years' of their lives. I couldn't disagree to that, since my life span hasn't stretched that long. I learned a lot from high school. As much of drama I avoided, I would always somehow be involved at some. What I would like to highlight about was the big event that were managed by me and my friends. It took around six months to prepare, and I was appointed as the vice chairman of the event, partnering with two other girls at that time. It didn’t only drain myself physically, but also emotionally. Working with two other heads that are totally opposite of each other can be quite a turmoil, especially when those two are both girls; we tend to be more sensitive. I had to set aside all those dramas around us to keep actually doing my job making the event happen. In the end we succeeded, and got praised by so many people. It was a hard work paid off. It became a reminder to myself that “Nothing worth having comes easy.” It will be an experience I treasure for life.

  80. The last one happened at the last weeks of grade 12. My friends used to study at my house during exam week and spend most of their time there. They actually created a name, “Trimul’s Basecamp” since I love to teach them!

During the semester 2 exam weeks, all of us realize that it’s probably the last time Trimul’s Basecamp will operate, studying together, playing PS to relieve our stress, sharing stories and laughter. It was sad, knowing that there’ll be no more Bimbel Basuki and all of us leaving for university. We started since grade 10 and it’s coming to and end. Well it’s not only me who is sad, my mom too! She treated my friends just like her own kids and yes she’s our chef too!

There are lots of crazy, funny, embarrassing moments that we share together. Knowing that our graduation is getting near makes us sad. We use our last weeks together very wisely and enjoy every moment! Right now, I haven’t meet all of them but I’m sure there’ll be a reunion as soon our final exam ends!

  81. Back during my high school years, I’ve never really stand out as one of what people would say as “cool kids”. I stayed in that school for most of my academic life, I’ve been there since the fourth grade until I graduated. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you see it, was excelled to senior high school after two years in juniors; most of my friends didn’t excel with me, the ones that do aren’t the nicest. But that doesn’t stop us from having memorable moments. One of those moments are during my friends’ birthday parties. When it’s someone’s birthday, there is a big chance that they will throw a big party; there was this one time a friend of mine who celebrated her sweet seventeen birthday party, rented a ballroom and made it look like a wedding, complete with an excessively large (and mostly inedible) cake. Other big birthday parties tend to have a swimming pool element to them, and there’s always a social outing after the party. One of my most memorable times is when another friend of mine who had a birthday party in his house with a pool, had most of the high school invited; which isn’t that much people since the school had a relatively small number of students. He was a gearhead, and had a lot of motorcycles; so it’s common for us to spend most of our time playing in the road in front of his house. Many of the boys brought their motorcycles over to his house and, and their motorcycles tend to have that classic petrol-head cliché of loud exhaust pipes. We ended up doing a convoy/parade around the neighborhood singing to loud music and potentially causing a public disturbance, fortunately the neighborhood is a concealed real-estate with very few people so we didn’t get to much trouble; plus, many of the boys also swam in his pool, so you can imagine a bunch of shirtless, wet, teenage boys, riding motorcycles, yelling in the streets. And it was also in that same house that we had a farewell party for our friend who returned to Korea the year before.

  82. I still see high school as the best moment of my life, at least until now. It is the period when I try many things for the first time. Freedom and exploration; would be the two words that describe high school the most. Surrounded by people that are open-minded and accepting differences makes me comfortable living the environment. It felt so free since there was less judgment on whatever I do, wear, or talk about –compared to the elementary and middle school, as well as the college. I learned how to involve in an event, to manage an organization, to be supportive and proactive towards what happens inside and outside the school. It is the place where I learned that I have to do things effectively and take every chance I get. However, academic activities did not really have a big impact on my current self as I was a science student back then. I really miss those memories, but I have had enough and ready for the further step of my life.

  83. High school is the place where I got many wonderful people that I could call my best friends. Our friend circle consists of nine people, 5 girls and 4 boys. We started hanging out in our second year of high school. I know a few of them before, but we weren’t that close. What made us bond more is the art extracurricular of our school. From 9 people in our group, 6 were in that extracurricular and the rest are their close friends who have nothing to do in our spare time and ended up hanging out in the art room. There, we hang out almost every day. Sometimes we went home at 5, but some other times we went home at 8. When the artsy kids are doing their job, the rest of us played around and cracked some jokes to make the atmosphere lighter. Oh, and we did a lot of things in the room. We learnt some K-Pop choreographies together, we eat together (this is actually prohibited), etc. So, I think what makes out the happiest memories in high school is the time I spent with them.
