What is your favourite film and why?
When summarizing what your chosen film is about,
don't mention anything that happens after the first 30 minutes.
So, you can describe the set up of the story and the characters,
but not the story in full or how it ends.
Just one film!

I have a lot of movies that I like but by far my most favorite one has to be 'Shutter Island'. It sets itself up as a sort of a crime drama and thriller, but delivers so much more than what other movies did for me. I loved the fact that the movie touched on topic about mental health and similar illnesses. The story is about a New York detective played by Leonardo DiCaprio assigned to a case to investigate a missing person in an insane asylum off the coast of Boston. The movie tells the story of this character through several flashbacks and hallucinations as well as the cunningness in the detectives method. After a few unsettling discoveries the detective forgoes his investigation and instead tries to learn the truth about the facility. Although the movie has a lot of mixed reviews and I also agree that it might not be Scorseses best work but it is still a good movie nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteRomance is the film genre that I like most. For me the romance film portrays a feeling that almost everyone has ever felt. Lots of romance films based on true stories that people have felt, romantic films like this are the highest level of a romance film. But the romance film that I like is not from a true story. The film is titled "The Fault in Our Stars". It is an American romantic tragedy film directed by Josh Boone, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by John Green.
ReplyDeleteThis film tells about a couple of lovers who have cancer. Hazel Grace Lancaster is a girl who suffered from stage 4 of Thyroid Cancer. Hazel fell in love with a man named Augustus Waters who also suffered from Osteosarcoma Cancer. Hazel met Augustus for the first time when they had just finished attending a special gathering for cancer sufferers. This point is the starting point where they will begin to establish a love story. This film tells about the struggle of their love to deal with the illness they suffered. This film received a rating of 7.8 from IMDb as a romance film for teenagers
I have lots of favorite movies from lots of different genres, but I would say my favorites are mostly mystery and crime movies. I would tell you about one of the most underrated movie about a crime that not all people have got the bravery to voice out loud, cases of child molestation and rape. The movie is called “The Lovely Bones”. The story tells about an unfortunate girl named Susie Salmon. Susie had a really normal life. She had a nice family, great friends and she's also currently crushing on someone, like a typical teenager. But one day, Susie never came home. The movie then showcases the emotional attachment between a father and daughter even when they’re away of each other. The movie is so beautifully made and I bet it makes everyone who watches very emotional. It also tells us an important message, especially to teenagers, to not fall for a stranger’s act or else it might lead them to some horrifying situations.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of movies that I like. Most of them are action movies. In this opportunity, I would like to mention “The Rock”. This is an old film, created in 1996, and I’m sure that many of you haven’t watched it. It begins with a group of tourists visiting Alcatraz. Inside the group, there was a retired marine general who then held hostage of the other tourist. He then calls his friends and some mercenaries. The ransom is one hundred million dollars, or else he will launch poisonous gas rockets to the San Francisco Bay area. The FBI Director had to send his man, which is a new chemical specialist agent, with a least knowledge of anti-terrorism. Nobody knows the floor plan of Alcatraz, except a prisoner who has been kept in prison for the past 30 years. He knows the floor plan because he was once kept in Alcatraz and he managed to escaped. The main concern is how would a new agent and a prisoner manage to deactivate the gas and save the hostages. The movie is starred by Nicholas Cage, Sean Connery, Ed Harris.
ReplyDeleteA large portion of my favorite movies are movies that was directed by Christopher Nolan. Inception is my favorite Nolan movie, and at the moment, it is also my overall favorite movie.
ReplyDeleteThe movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page to name a few. Inception is essentially about a heist. But instead of stealing money or properties, they steal ideas. And in this world, there are corporations that are dedicated to these these types of jobs. In the movie the main character, Cobb, is tasked with planting an idea instead of extracting them. This is what they call "inception". It is made clear by dialogues that such an act is very difficult because it involves, at least, three layers of dreams.
The movie revolves around a group trying to pull off "Inception". And its their journey and their story that makes this movie memorable to me. The way scenes were shot and edited is something that should also be commended. I recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in mind-bending stories.
I considered myself as movies and series enthusiast and I have watched many genres of movies. My all-time favorite movie is an animated movie produced by Disney in 1994 with the title of The Lion King. The movie itself was publicated before I was even born so I have watched it since I was a very little girl and I regularly watch them now in my free time.
ReplyDeleteThe Lion King tells a story of a young cub named Simba. I can say he's energetic and optimistic, at least in the beginning of the movie. He is the promised king of Pride Rock, following the path of his father, Mufasa. Live with them are Sarabi, the queen of Pride Rock, the lioness and also Mufasa's brother, Scar, who is filled with hatred and jealousy toward Mufasa and Simba. He planned to overthrow them and take the crown for himself with the help of the hyenas. Series of tragedy events are happening ever since then.
The Lion King is one of the most successful animated movie that ever created. It received two Academy Awards for its music composed by Elthon John and Hans Zimmer and Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture. There are two sequels following the success of the first movie and the live action version of The Lion King is in the progress and planned to be released in 2019.
‘Crazy little thing called love’ is one of my favorite films. This film is originally from Thailand, and produced in 2010. The other name of this film is ‘First love’. It is a Thai romantic comedy film and also a 2011 Asian sleeper hit film starring Mario Maurer and Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul. The story depicts love in the eye of young people who first experience it and how it affects their lives and their inspirations. The film tell us a story about a girl who fall in love with her senior. Unfortunately, the girl is not pretty, has a dark skin, and so on while the senior is very handsome and popular among the girls. Then, because the girl is so in love with him, it motivates her to change her physical appearance. As a teenager, I like movies that tell stories about teenagers’ lives too. Different to other romantic films, this film gives more insight about the importance of friendship, sincerity, and make us aware that love can change anything, and to win it, it needs effort.
ReplyDeleteI have watched plenty of great movies throughout my life, but one which intrigued me the most is a classic, The Godfather (arguably the greatest movie of all time) . It’s a mafia movie starring Marlon Brando as the main character, he plays Vito (Don) Corleone which became one of my favorite fictional character of all time because he portrays a great leader not just for a Mafia group but also family wise. In the movie, Don Corleone are expecting guests to come to his daughter’s (Connie Corleone) wedding and because he is a Sicilian, he cannot refuse to come to his daughter’s wedding. He has a son called Michael Corleone who just came back from World War II who is also expected to attend his sister’s wedding. However, unlike any member of the family, Michael is the only one who does not want to live his life the “Mafia” way, especially Vito Corleone’s with all their violence and drug dealings. It’s such a great movie that has a lot of values in it and it’s definitely a must-watch movie.
ReplyDeleteWatching movies is one of my hobbies. I could watch movies all day long, and I don’t have a particular favorite genre. One of my favorite movies is “Now You See Me”. It is within the mystery/crime genre, and it was released on May 21, 2013 in New York City. The director of the movie is Louis Leterrier. The movie is about four stage magicians, J. Daniel "Danny" Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), and Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), who are recruited to perform together by an unknown benefactor. They also perform crimes, but they do not leave behind any proofs. That is why they are also being investigated by FBI agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) and Interpol agent Alma Dray (Mélanie Laurent). I love this movie because it includes a lot of tricks that would surprise us along the way and it also has some awesome plot twists.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie genre is comedy, I love all types of comedy movies, ranging from the sitcoms, romantic comedy, and also the dark comedy like the movie The Dictator. However it’s not that movie that I wanted to describe. The movie that I want to recommend is the movie “The Wolf of the Wall Street”, the movie starred by Leonardo DiCaprio. This movie actually talks about a former stock broker which’s now is a business speaker, it talks about his journey from scratch up until he’s rich and went into some law case which actually ended his career as a stock broker. I recommend and label this movie as my favorite so far since it’s not only funny, it talks about how business do actually works especially in Wall Street. DiCaprio was nominated for an Oscar for his role as Jordan Belfort which’s the broker in discussion, however he did not won the award which’s a disappointment since his acting in my opinion an absolute masterpiece but unfortunately he didn’t win that time. He actually won on his role in the movie “The Revenant”.
ReplyDeleteDavid Fincher’s Fight Club is my favourite movie of all time, and I am going to break the first rule of it: you do not talk about Fight Club. The movie has a considerable cult following, because when the movie was actually a financial failure. The most prominent aspect of the movie in my opinion is the intricate characterisation, despite the relatively sizable cast. The opening credits to Fight Club take place inside the human body. It emerges from our narrator character (we know what his nerve endings look like but not his name; that's too personal) played by Edward Norton, who has a gun in his mouth, held there by Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). The unnamed narrator is suffering from chronic insomnia, and in order to cope with that, he frequently seeks for numerous support groups. However, the narrator always attends the support groups for diseases he doesn't have: brain parasites, tuberculosis, and testicular cancer, instead for insomnia. At his testicular cancer support group, he meets a man with giant breasts named Bob and learns how to cry. That night, he sleeps.
ReplyDeleteI consider myself a film enthusiast because I have seen a lot of films and I would say I enjoy films more than an average person. I watch films from any genre but my top three picks are science fiction, mystery, and horror. That being said, my favourite film has to fall into one of those categories.
ReplyDeleteOut of all the movies I have watched, the one I enjoyed the most is Logan; an American superhero film based on Wolverine. The movie is about a weary Logan who plans to hide from the outside world but gets upended when he meets a young mutant who is very much like him and he must protect the girl. I love this movie because one, it is science fiction. I love science fiction films so much because with the talented hands of the crew who made the film, they look so real and convincing to the point where it makes me wonder if those events could actually happen in real life. Another reason why this movie is my favourite is because while watching this movie, I really get the different emotions: sad, tense, annoyed, relief, and joy.
My favorite movie of all time, if I have to choose, would be Batman: The Dark Knight. The second installment from the Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan is one of, if not the best superhero movie of all time. Although calling Batman a superhero would be a bit far fetched considering he doesn't have superpowers. The movie tells a story of how Batman, portrayed by Christian Bale, is cleaning Gotham from The Mob who controls the city from the shadows. One of the main selling point of the movie, in my opinion, was the introduction of the best villain Joker. Portrayed by Heath Ledger, The Joker is a psychopathic criminal mastermind set on conquering Gotham and becoming it’s new criminal underboss. Ledger’s performance on the movie was so phenomenal, that today’s superhero movie fans has set The Joker as the gold standard of movie villains. Coupled by a brilliant script writing, we can’t help but think that The Joker’s motive for his criminal act was logical and justified. If you love superhero movie in general, I would strongly suggest giving this one a try.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite film is Fight Club (1999) and although it Is impossible to talk about Fight Club without talking about the masterful twist that it brings, I’m just going to talk about a few main plot points and why I like it so much. Fight Club is directed by David Fincher, a very capable director, Fight club is also played by an astoundingly talented cast such as: Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter to name a few.
ReplyDeleteThe premise of fight club is about a guy (played by Edward Norton) that was living a live that was neither fulfilling or healthy. The guy or The Narrator, talks about how his inability to sleep; he would just watch the TV until he is in a state in-between sleeping and waking up. This and a morally bankrupt job where he disregards car accidents because it would cause his company some loss. It all change until one day he met one guy (Tyler Durden) and made a club where guys would fight each other. This club changes his live in the most unexpected way possible.
I really loved this film because of the excellent character development that The Narrator go through. By the end of the film, he was the exact opposite of his mundane and depressing self at the start of the film. The film is edited really well, with catchy soundtracks and also excellent cinematography. The plot twist that this film delivers is objectively the best twist that I have ever seen, not only because the twist itself, but the build up leading to it.
We do not talk about Fight Club!
DeleteThe first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. Third rule of Fight Club: Someone yells "Stop!", goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: Only two guys to a fight.
Delete" Saturday Night Fever " is my favourite movie of all time. Saturday Night Fever is a film from 1977 and it is considered as a breakthrough movie that sets the world of Disco, it stars John Travolta as Tony Manero, a young man whose comes from Brooklyn and spends most of his weekends at discotheque. He is the star man on the discotheque and everyone loves him when he is dancing on the dance floor and the real story starts when he meet Annette, his dance partner and girlfriend, and their dance and love life would never be the same. This movie is a so called the Bible of Disco and sets the roots of the teens from the 70's and 80's to do the disco, what I liked the most from this movie is the dance that so unique and the songs that are being used by this movie. Bee Gees' songs such as stayin alive, more than a woman, jive talkin, and night fever are being featured in this movie so that makes me even excited to see this movie because Bee Gees is my all-time favourite.
ReplyDeleteI’m not an avid movie watcher, but the movie that resonated the most to me is ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’. It’s a movie with beautiful cinematic work, as well as combines the genre of science fiction and romance, as well as the amazing cast. The concept of the movie revolves around the fact that people can now selectively erase certain parts of their memory and is used commercially. When Joel Barish realizes his ex-girlfriend, Clementine Kruczynski didn’t recognize him because she had wiped him away from her memories, he decides to erase her from his memory as well out of anger and hurt. But when the process begins and Joel relieves his memories with Clementine for the last time, he realizes he’s not ready to let go of her and his memories just yet.
ReplyDeleteOther than the interesting plot, I also loved how it took a unique take on storytelling. The movie explored the two character’s personalities and the nature of their relationship through Joel’s memories. Majority of the movie takes place within memories of all kinds. Watching the plot unfold and Clementine through his perspective made it all the more interesting. It’s an amazing movie overall and I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Narnia is my favorite movie of all time. For me, it has the best graphics and story line. I watch the movie until the last episode which is “Narnia 3: The Voyage of the Down Trader”. Personally, I’m amaze by Aslan, which is the main character in the movie. In Narnia Aslan is a wise lion that wants to save the world from egoism and cruelty. In Narnia, they have 3 heroes and third of them are siblings. The story starts when three of them open a cupboard in their house, when they start to open it, suddenly the cupboard pulls them in as if it’s a blackhole, then it brings them to nowhere and its winter in that time. On the other hand, some people hate this movie because they see it as boring and to cliché. The setting in this film is set in Great Britain and it is when everyone in the world still believe in myth and devil.
ReplyDeleteAmong all the movies that I’ve watched, “The Karate Kid” has to be my favorite movie. It was released back in 2010, starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. I’ve watched this movie for more than 30 times and I could say that I’ve memorized most of the scenes and lines of the movie. The reason why I love this movie is because it taught me that, things might not go the way you wanted but you can make the best out of it. The Karate Kid does not have a heavy conflict, so it’s fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteThe movie started with Dre Parker, starred by Jaden Smith, and his mother leaving Detroit to move to Beijing; this is where the story starts. The conflict started when Dre got into a fight with this boy named Cheng in the neighborhood park and later in the movie, Dre and Cheng sort of become rivals. Then, Mr. Han, Dre’s apartment maintenance man, came into the picture to help Dre in resolving this rivalry.
I have a favourite movie called The Help. The film is about slavery in the United Stated that was a sensitive topic there back then. The film tells about how it was very crazy back then how the white people in the United States treated the black people there. They do not want to share toilets with black people, they treat black people so low that it doesn’t reflect humanity at all. Then there came a white people that has the heart to change these rude cycles. She interviewed so many black people and made a book with that. That book tells the sad stories of being a black people that could be called slaves. A lot of people read that book and changed a lot of people’s perspective about treating black people. I love this movie because it was very toucing and open minding. I cried a lot watching this movie because I just see that it was very sad to watch ordinary people like us treated so badly.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite film is actually La La Land which was released in 2016. The main role is between Mia (Emma Stone) and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling). I did not like it initially, because I thought the film had a complicated plot story. But, I watched it for more than twice which made me understand the story. I love the scenery and the cinematography which packed beautifully and aesthetically on the screen. We could really see Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone’s skills on dancing and their musical skill. The soundtracks are also well arranged which produced by Justin Hurwitz, Marius de Vries, and Steven Gizicki. My top-three favourite songs in La La Land’s soundtrack are Epilogue by Justin Hurwitz; Engagement Party by Justin Hurwitz; and City of Stars by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. I choose to not give any comment on the story except what I told before. Overall, I think the movie would be an interesting option to watch if you interested in aesthetic visualisation.
ReplyDeleteI love watching movies though, and i like so many movies. But, only a few that become the best for me. The best movie that i have ever watched, is The Blind Side. This film is about a person who is adopted by the Tuohy family. This person's name is Michael Oher. Michael come from a very poor family. His father is already passed away, and his mother addicted to drugs. Michael doesn't live with his mother. Before he is adpoted by the Tuohy family, he was adopted by another family before. This family is the one who put Michael Oher in Wingate Christian School. But, because his step mother always angry to his step father she thinks that they cannot take care of Michael anymore, and Michael heard about that, Michael flee from his house, and he usually lived in the school. The Tuohy family found him in the school, and feel pity for him. So, they decided to bring him home, and finally after a few days, they adopted him. In this family, Michael learn how to play American Football, and from this family, he becomes an American Football Superstars in high school and NFL. Michael loves the Tuohy Family so much. He even beats up the people who are threaten his family. The reason why i like this movie is because it is a real story. Michael is a person that we usually called from zero to hero. From this film, it is proven that all people can be a succesful person, as long as they keep trying.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite film of all time would be The Dark Knight (2008). It is the second instalment of the Batman movie trilogy that is directed by Christopher Nolan. For me, The Dark Knight is the best instalment out of the three films. The actor who played as the Batman in the film is none other than the method actor himself, Christian Bale. He did a good job playing a realistic caped crusader (The Batman) that we can relate in real life. Another plus point for his acting as the Batman is that from what I’ve read in a trusted source, he did most of his stunts without any stuntman. The second reason to why I think that this is the best instalment out of the three films is because of the actor who played the villain role in the film. The villain in this film is the clown prince of crime, the Joker. In this film the Joker is played by the talented actor, Heath Ledger. He really made an outstanding performance as the Joker. He won an Oscar because of his acting in this film but sadly he died also because of portraying the Joker and drug overdose. While his life can’t be saved, his legacy as the Joker will live on forever.
ReplyDeleteMovie for me is a really good and fun way for us to know something knew, having a new perspective or even just entertain ourselves when we get stucked in our boredom. I’m not seeing a lot of movies do my knowledge about movies is not really interesting. If I had to tell you one movie that really caught my eyes, I probably say La La Land as my answer. Because I like every single aspect in that movie including the cinematography, the story line, the songs, the actor and actress who play the role in that movie and the messages that the movie creator are attempted to tell us.
ReplyDeleteFirst, from the story line, this movie giving us some sort of like roller coaster feeling. In the first two minutes it can makes you happy and in another next two minutes it makes us feel bad. It so twisty and unexpected, I love it. my favorite part of this movie in the aspect of story line is maybe the ending. Gosh you need to watch this movie, if you already watched this movie than give me a comment down below.
Second thing I really like about this movie is the cinematography. The cinematography is so “on-point” I think, its really satisfy me as a viewer. Giving a pleasure for everyone who are into cinematography.
The third thing I like is about this movie is the song. I know that maybe some of you are think that this movie is a cheesy-ish musical drama. Well I’m not denying that either but if you listen and take a closer look at this movie, you’ll finf out that there’re many different things that we can understand, especially from the song called, Someone In The Crowd. Really worth of listening.
The Fourth is the message that the movie try to give. As I mentioned before, the message is pretty interesting and relate-able, for me. But I don’t know guys, its just my opinion.
If you have an opinion about this movie than give a comment down bellow. If you have a movie recommendation that maybe have the same genre or style as La La Land, then you can tell me using the comment section or maybe you can hit me up in the spare time and we can talk a lot about movies that suites and satisfy your self and share your experience with me.
It is hard for me to choose a favorite film, but if I really have to choose, my choice would be 1988’s animated sci-fi film “Akira” directed by Katsuhiro Otomo that also happens to be Kanye West’s favorite movie as well. Adapted from a comic book series of the same name, Akira tells the story of Kaneda and his friends, a group of teenage biker gang members and their adventures in the dystopian futuristic city of Neo-Tokyo. However, the plot developments of the movie is akin to other Japanese animated films of the same era like Ghost in the Shell or Evangelion; the cool motorcycles and biker gang fights is only a façade to hide the deeper meaning of the movie as a symbolism of Japan’s sorry state after the nuclear bombings of the Second World War and how society behaves accordingly to it. What I love most from the film are the imagined aesthetics of a futuristic cityscape and the motorcycles that do not seem dated even if one looks at it today (considering that the film was released in 1988) and the animation of the film that is hands-down the best animation I have seen from any animated movie. The first 30 minutes of the film and its panning shots of motorcycles racing across the nighttime Neo-Tokyo cityscape shows exactly what is a must see for any fans of dystopian sci-fi.
ReplyDeleteI am a movie lover since i was small because at around the age of 6-9 my parents use to buy lots of cd movies where we usually watch at our leisure time which is usually Saturday night. The one particular movie that was me and my dads favorite was "The Last Samurai" Me and my Dad watched this movie hundreds of time but was never bored of the story. It has a very strong moral story where it does not only teach us about one particular aspects but many. It teaches us about being loyal to a certain firm or organization and it also teaches us about hardwork. The story is played by Tom Cruise as the main character where he played as a soldier who has retired and now works as a military observer in Japan. The main reason why he was assigned in Japan is because the Japanese are fighting the Samurai and requires training from the United States. War happened between the Japanese and the Samurai and he was captured. From that moment he learned on how to be a Samurai and understand the true meaning of Samurai.
ReplyDeletewow dhika the samurai boy, you should take your masters degree as a samurai so you could be Dhika Awaluddin S.S (Sarjana Samurai)
DeleteWatching movies is one of the best activities I like to do since I was a little kid. I can sit for hours for a movie marathon all day long, even without bothering to touch my phone. There are many favorite films that I like, without having a specific genre. If I have to choose one, I’d probably pick ‘The Intern’. It is a drama/comedy film released in 2015, casting Anne Hathaway as Jules, and Robert De Niro as Ben. The movie is about a senior who is seventy years old named Ben Whittaker was trying to fill his time again after his retirement. After spotting an opportunity of a senior intern in About The Fit, an online fashion site founded and run by Jules Ostin, he applied and became one. I like this movie because it is one of the heartwarming films. I used to watch it many times when I was in high school.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie as for now (2018) is Crazy Rich Asians. Words can't explain how beautiful this movie is. I love this movie so much to the point I watched this movie twice in the theater. I cried both times (is it because it was sad or happy? hmm you'll have to see it by yourself). If you love drama romance but with a little bit comedy kind of movies, you will definitely love this movie. Plus, I love how the casts is almost 100% Asian. The movie itself is so rich of Singaporean cultures. You can see how Singaporeans are still holding tight their beliefs and norms. I bought the books right after I watched the movies because I just simply love it. This movie is based on a trilogy. So the first one is Crazy Rich Asians followed by China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems. I won't give you any details about the movie because I just don't want to give you any spoiler. You should watch the movie as soon as possible!
ReplyDeleteI used to love watching various films with different genre but recently, I don’t really watch any film as there is no time for it. However, if I have to choose one film to be my favorite, I will go with the movie room (2015), a drama story written by Emma Donoghue. The movie is about a woman and her son that have been held captive in a small house for seven years and they were trying to escape from it. The movie shows their daily activities with limited resources and space. Every day, they were trying to came out with an idea on how to escape from that tragic condition. The story is really simple and short but as I watch the movie, it shows how a mother really love her son and wants to give the best for him. In addition, the movie also taught me to be grateful with my life and all the love that are given to me.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite movie is Psychoses by Alfred Hitchcock, even though it is a relativity old movie from the 60’s, I’ve watch it when I was like 12 years old and the plot somehow intrigue me a lot and I loved the way they shoot the movies, without modern special effect they still manage to create a singular gloomy atmosphere with lot of suspense.
ReplyDeleteThe story took place in the 60’s of course, in the United states somewhere in California if I remember correctly, a Secretary call Marion working into an office is tired of her life and how broke she is, she dreams of a better life and to be rich, one day her manager who have a lot of trust in her, mission her to deposit 40 000 USD in cash to the banks; she nervously decide to run away in secret with the money with her car, tired she decided to take a rest at the Bates Motel. The only motel in the empty area, managed by Norman Bates a troubled man who seem to be under the domination of her mother.
Marion seems to regret her decision but she have no choice but spend a night at the Bates Motel.
I personally love to watch movies that are based on slice of life and romance genres. One movie that I liked a lot is called “Kimi No Nawa” or Your Name. It’s an animated film that the Japanese made from a person’s story and folklore which made the story very easy to understand. This story is a combined between both slice of life and romance genres that took place in Japan not so long ago. The story’s plot is also a combine between the present and the past which they told it in both point of views of the main characters. This movie is very popular all over the world, even in Japan itself being Japan that will always see anime of their own country’s creation. And not just the plot of the story that was attracting, but also the way that they put musical songs in some occasions in different scenes, which made it more attracting and colorful of a movie.
ReplyDeleteI do not think I watch a lot of movies as I rarely come to cinema or watch movies at home. The moment I read the title of this article, I immediately recall a certain name of a movie which gave me a roller coaster of emotion. I was not the type to watch romantic movies, but somehow this movie changed me. The movie title is Your Name, a 2016 Japanese animated romantic fantasy drama film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai and produced by CoMix Wave Films. Your Name tells the story of a high school girl in rural Japan and a high school boy in Tokyo who swap bodies. I think the movie is beautifully written and the plot is surprising as well. Since its director is Makoto Shinkai, a renowned Japanese animator, director, writer, producer, editor, cinematographer, voice actor, manga artist and former graphic designer, then the animation of this movie is absolutely top-notch. What I like the most about this movie is that the transition between one song to another really match the displayed story. In addition, its original soundtracks are very enjoyable and nice to hear. Combinations of great story line, beautiful animation, and amazing soundtracks of a movie? Count me in.
ReplyDeleteWatching film is actually one of my hobby. I have watched many different kind of movies with different range of genres and produced by different countries. I used to go to the cinema regularly, sadly I have less time to spend on going to the cinema in Jogja. Nevertheless, I still have one of my favourite movie in my mind: Inglourious Basterds. This film was directed and written by a well-known director named Quentin Tarantino. It is a fiction film but influenced by the history of Nazi and Jewish. A group of Jewish-American troops lead by an eccentric commander planned to assassinate the leader of Nazi, Adolf Hitler. I think the plot was well prepared and I felt like I could understand each and every single scene. The genre of the film is adventure and drama, but how the eccentric commander plans and acts was hilarious. Some funny parts were tucked in the movie. I was not expecting the end of the film would finish that way. It is worth to watch.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite genre has got to be romantic-comedy movies. I always keep up with the latest rom-com movies. The latest one was Sierra burgess is a loser played by Shannon Purser and Noah Centineo. But my favourite movie was actually recommended by my Mandarin teacher. It is a Taiwanese movie called ‘Our Times’. The movie is about a girl called Lin Truly (Vivian Sung) who was listening to a cassette which reminds her of her high school days where she was an ordinary high school girl. Back then, she had a crush on Ouyang Fey Fan (Dino Lee) who was a straight A student and also the captain of the basketball team. One day, Hsu Tai Yu (Dylan Wang), the most notorious gangster boss receives a love letter from Lin Truly. While Tai Yu was reading the letter, he got injured in a car accident. The angry Tai Yu made Lin Truly his ‘friend’ her to run errands for him in exchange for leaving Fey Fan alone, thus making her his errand-girl. And like other rom-com movies, Tai Yu ended up falling for Lin Truly. Finally, Lin Truly has to choose between Fey Fan and Tai Yu. this movie was quite fascinating because of the story line and the actors as well. Many people think that Asian movies are not as entertaining as western movies but ‘Our Times’ is definitely worth the time.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movies of all time would be the whole series of Harry Potter. I am a huge fan of the movie although I never read the book itself. For me, Harry Potter movies do show the imagination of many children about the mythical and magical world we admire. If I was asked to choose one movie between the whole series, I would prefer Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire. I like this because it shows Harry's teenage year struggles such as his friendship was tested, finding his first love, cheating in school, unstable emotions, and of course puberty. Other than the storyline, I also like how in this movie, the characters already knew several different types of spells that are interesting to see. During this movie, the director also introduced to the audience several new mythical creatures that are interesting to see. In conclusion, Harry Potter movies are interesting to see.
ReplyDeleteWhiplash is happened to be one of my most favorite movies in all my life. A movie about music is my kind of ideal thing in life since I love music and movies. What a perfect combination. This movie was written and directed by Damien Chazelle, also known for directing the movie La La Land. Miles Teller is the main character of this movie, playing as Andrew Neiman, an ambitious young jazz drummer, who’s pursuing his goals to be a successful drummer. What I love from the movie is how the relationship between him and his abusive teacher, Terence Fletcher casted by J.K. Simmons, acted very naturally until I can’t recognize whether it’s an act or real. Actually, one of my favorite actors is Miles Teller. So, it was really astonishing for me to see him playing a movie that turned out to be my favorite. There are many contradictive opinion about this movie’s storyline. But for me, the storyline is an A+ that is beautifully translated into a movie.
ReplyDeleteBiopic (Biographical Pictures) always did hit me hard to the chest. The fact that biopics are based on actual events are quite important for the modern society, because most of the projects are based on past individuals resolving past issues, the films triggers empathy in the heart of it's viewers, and modern citizens should reflect and solve current issues, as past ones were showed to do it. One of my favorite movies of all time is "Remember The Titans", a movie about an African-American football head coach, who is trying to resolve the racial segregation in his football team. Not only does he is trying to change his football team, but also the citizens of Alexandria, Virginia. The supporting cast of the movie is also funny, exhilarating, empathic, and ironic. Easy to say, this is a movie I recommend for you guys.
ReplyDeleteWatching a movie is one way for me to entertain myself. When I am bored at home, I always try to find a movie that I can watch. Even though I am a very scared person and is very afraid of little things, I really love watching horror movies. The reason why I love to watch horror movies is because it can be watched anytime. The interesting part about the movie is not the storyline but the tense moment. One of my favorite movies is called “The Conjuring “. It Is a movie directed by James Wan and was written by Chad and Carey. This movie was released in 2013. This story is about a spirit that lives in a haunted house and Is haunting the family that currently live in the house. The family asked a couple that is working as an exorcist to remove the spirit from haunting the family. That is general story about the movie. I always watch scary movie with at least one friend because I am not brave enough to watch it alone
ReplyDeleteThe question of this article proved to be a very hard question for me to answer since it’s a very broad question. To choose just a single movie as my favorite is hard since I have a collection of movies that I like and each favorite varies from different genres of movies. Nonetheless, the instruction only stated one movie, so that movie has to be Forrest Gump. I found Forrest Gump a very interesting movie because of many aspects. I like the plot because I think the storyline of the movie meet my standard on what I considered a great movie. I like the humor of the story on how the story makes the main character, Forrest Gump to be the center of why some of the historical incidents happen. I also like the combination of the theme (love, dreams, warfare, and friendship) and how each theme flows very smoothly in the story. Last but not least, in the cinematography view, I like how some part of the scene is directed, like how some scenes, in the beginning, is repeated at the end of the movie with a little uniqueness to it. I think overall, Forrest Gump is a great movie because I think the plot is just amazing and carefully build.
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite movie is Mission Impossible 5, "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" is one of the best action films I have ever seen. The story is good and action packed. The photography is amazing and the music is fantastic. Much has been made of the stunt work, especially that done by Tom Cruise himself. It did not disappoint. And the action and chase sequences are as exciting as any I have seen. Also, the female lead, Rebecca Ferguson, deserves special mention. Her portrayal of Ilsa Faust is a wonderful blend of intelligence, beauty and strength and definitely one of the best in any action film. I can only hope she shows up in the next installment. some of the credit goes to the writers who created the character. In all, this film offers everything you want in an action film and deserves a "10" for its place in the genre.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite movie so far is Blade Runner 2049. Yes, it is the sequel of the iconic 1982 film “Blade Runner”. It is a neo-noir film sets in futuristic Los Angeles and I love this movie so much because the mix of neo-noir and sci-fi. Neo-noir and sci-fi are my favourite genre, so it feels great to watch movie that have them both. This film was directed by Denis Villeneuve. Ryan Gosling playing as K, the main character of the film. Harrison Ford playing as a recurring protagonist character from previous film, Rick Deckard. Jared Leto playing as Niander Wallace, the CEO of Wallace Corporation.
ReplyDeleteThe story is about a blade runner named K who investigating a strange phenomenon of reproducing replicant which is impossible for a replicant to reproduce. Blade runner is people tasked to kill disobedient replicant. K himself is a replicant. Replicant is human like android created as slave for the human by the Wallace Corporation.
This movie is full of plot twist and it is cool to see futuristic Los Angeles and its holographic advertisement billboard. This movie won Best Cinematography and Best Special Visual Effects in the 90th Academy Award.
My favorite movie was release ending of last year and is called The Greatest Showman. The movie is a original Musical starring Hugh Jackman, also known for his role as “Wolverine” in the Marvel Comics movies, Zack Efron and Zendaya. The Greatest Showman bring you back to the year 1871 and tells the story of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. This movie is inspired by the story of P.t Barnum who created the Barnum & Bailey Circus, which attracted the attention of the people by showing human curiosities. I love this movie because of the positive message of accepting and loving who you are and the incredible songs that fill your eyes with tears. Indeed, one of the songs called “This is Me”, won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and was nominated for in the same category at the 90th Academy Awards.

ReplyDeleteI have a lot of genre of films that I enjoy and one of them, which is my favourite is sci-fi. One of my favourite movie is the Star Wars movies. But, if I told you about the Star Wars movies it would be too cliché and since a lot of people know the basic of Star Wars it would make this less interesting so I am going to tell you about a favourite movie of mine that is called “Spirited Away”. Spirited Away is a Japanese animated fantasy film. The story is about a girl named Chihiro who stumbles an abandoned amusement park which turns out to be a resort for supernatural beings. I can’t really explain too much since I don’t want to spoil anything so I recommend all of you to watch this movie if you haven’t. I just remember watching it over and over again because I was very stunned and mesmerized by this movie. This movies has a creepy yet intriguing vibes to it. It is truly an interesting film.
My number one entertainer is watching movie. So, whenever I feel sad, disappointed, mad, or in a bad mood the only thing that can make me happy is by watching any kind of movie. I don’t have any special genre of movies that I like because I have watched almost every genre of movies. But personally, I do not really enjoy watch Sci-fi movie because it doesn’t seem like it makes sense for me. But I have my most favorite movie at all time and I believe everyone has watched this movie. The movie is called “La La Land”. I never really enjoy drama musical, but that movie has changed my mind. In my perspective, the movie is not cheesy at all, another thing is, the movie itself is so realistic which can make me realize that not everything will have to be a happy ending and not everyone who we wanted to be with will be with us. And also, the movie isn’t just telling a love story but also some other things which make the movie even better. The most unforgettable scene from the movie is the ending. The ending of the movie is so freaking sad that it makes myself can still feel how sad it is until now. Overall, the movie does impress me so much.
ReplyDeleteTalking about movies, basically I am a huge fan of a Disney movies. I know it sounds very childish, but believe me, that Disney movies does give a huge moral value that can be applied into our life. One of my favorite Disney movie is Inside Out. Why? Because the moral value given by the story is really touched me inside. The movie taught me that having a sadness is not a bad thing at all. Sometimes, whenever we feel sad, we see that there is no good side of it; like why even suppose to feel sad? Is just hurt us and leave us empty. But then the Inside Out movie shows me that sadness is the only way we can appreciate things more. Being always happy sometimes lead us to become a selfish and did not paying attention to details. But when we feel sad, we can start to realize what are the small things happen inside us, then we can become more aware of things in our surroundings which then makes us to become more respect, grateful, and appreciate small little things.
ReplyDeleteThroughout my life, I’ve watched lots of movies from various genres, action, comedy, romance, and others. But, my favourite movie is Wolf of Wall Street. Even though this movie contained lots of adult scene in it, I find the plot of this movie very interesting. Aside from watching movie, we are given image on how business are run in the wall street in US. Not only that, it teaches us to be brave to take steps even when you are in your comfort zone. This movie is starred by Leonardo Dicaprio and was directed by Martin Scorsese. Wolf of wall street is the type of movie that you can watch every time and does not makes you bored. Aside from it being a comedy movie, it teaches us lots of lessons on how to deal with market.. This film received a high rating of 8.2/10 from IMDb and succeed to bring back around $392 million.
ReplyDeleteMovie is a healer of my boredom and also acts as a huge entertainer to me. I am a movieholic and have watched movies from various genres. From all the genres I have watched, only 3 came down as my favorite. They are: 1. Sci-Fi, 2. Movies that sets their time background before the 20th century & 3.Horror. However, until this far I consider the best movie for me is The Revenant (2015). A movie about massive survival, family bond and a bit of betrayal. Interesting isn’t it? Well, I could not totally state that The Revenant as the very ‘best’ movie in the world but of course my favorite. Why? Firstly because how the movie sets the time background in 1800s (which is 1823). Secondly, how amazing the cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki (He also took a role in Birdman & Gravity). Third is because the acting by Leonardo DiCaprio which is out of the world. The acting of DiCaprio was also contributed by the help of an amazing & popular director which is Alejandro González Iñárritu. DiCaprio’s acting gained him his first Best Actor in a Leading Role Award in the 2016 Oscar. Not only DiCaprio, but there are also Tom Hardy & Will Poulter in the movie and acts brilliantly. If any of you guys haven’t watched the movie, you all should!
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as a favourite movie for me because it’s a bit tough to decide on which one that I like the most. Well, statistically speaking and comparing the relative frequency of watching one movie to each other, The Lord of The Rings trilogy has remained as the most watched movie among the collections of movies that I keep in my laptop. It tells the struggle between good and evil in a fictional continent of Middle-Earth.
ReplyDeleteSauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor, a region lying east of the Kingdom of Gondor, has gathered hordes of orcs and evil humans to take over the Western Middle Earth and is in his quest to reclaim the Ring of Power that he lost to Prince Isildur of Gondor during his defeat in Mordor. It is no hero, nor a king of great splendor who bears the destiny to destroy the Ring of Power, but rather a Hobbit of the Shire (a humanoid, but shorter in posture) who carried out the task. While the wizard, Gandalf and his league of elves, dwarves and men fought against Sauron’s minions, Frodo Baggins of the Shire successfully destroyed the Ring of Power, annihilating Sauron and blew him out of existence.
P.S. Read the books as well, notice the inconsistence between them and the movie adaptation. But still, good daydreaming material.
As we all do, I have tons of movies during my eighteen years of living on earth. Name a movie genre then I would say that I have watch a movie from the one you mentioned. Action and science fiction would be on top of my list; yet, strangely my favorite movie which I have watch is a fantasy-drama film. The title of the movie is ‘about time’. the story tell us the life of Tim Lake who has the power of time traveling. This movie does not tell the typical time traveling movie such as ‘Doctor Who’. The movie present the story of Tim Lake from a daily point of view, and his pursuit of happiness. His marriage and family affair is the highlight of the story. What I find the most intriguing about this movie is that it is not a popular movie; yet, it is jam packed with values that are related an average person view the world now. I know that it is not the most exciting movie I have ever watch, but it is one of the most meaningful.
ReplyDeleteI am going to talk about one of my favorite movies. One of my favorite movies of all time is called ‘The Dictator’. A word of caution, it displays explicit language and scenes; it would be best to keep children away from this movie. Although it might not be for everyone, it is extremely hilarious and I could not stop laughing when I watched it for the first time. The movie is about a dictator of a fictional country coming to America to attend a UN meeting. When in America, many people attempt to assassinate him in order to the end the reign of terror on the country that the oblivious dictator does not notice. However, his stupidity and blunt luck got him through various assassination attempts. If you don’t mind explicit language and want to laugh your butt off, I think ‘The Dictator’ is a movie you should definitely watch.
ReplyDeleteI have never considered what my favourite films is as I adore many although some movies stood out for me. For example, to name a few; “Loving Vincent”, “Spirited Away”, “Gone Girl”, “Kimi no Na wa: Your Name”, “Fight Club” and Star Wars series (including the canon stories). However, if I have to choose one particular film, it is “Gone Girl”. First of all, to attract my liking for a film; the film must be unpredictable, uneasy to understand, preferably not a romance film, and a “heavy” film, although an outstanding storyline might do the justice and covers other requirements (for instance, “Spirited Away” and “Kimi no Na wa: Your Name” has an otherworldly storyline).
ReplyDelete“Gone Girl” might contain romance, but the unpredictability of its story and its mystery and exciting atmosphere has extravagantly done the job. It is the story of a couple; filled with problems of trust, misconceptions, human psychological conditions, and con behaviours with the cover of murder towards pregnant women.
Watching movies is one of my favorite thing to do to in my quality time but I don't have a particular favourite movie genre though. On this comment I want to explain about one of my favourite movies of all time-the one that I won't get tired of watching. The tittle is Clueless. The movie was a romantic-comedy and released in 1995. It is loosely based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel Emma, updating the setting to modern-day Beverly Hills. The story revolves around teenage high-schoolers' life of Beverly Hills. The main character was played by Alicia Silverstone, as Cher Horowitz. Cher has a best friend named Dionne. They are popular, rich, pretty, and charming. One day, they spot a new girl at school, Tai, and decides to do a makeover on her. They are very successful, but Cher realizes that she needed a makeover herself in a spiritual way. With this makeover, she learns about caring for others, going through pain, and love.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite movies are superhero movies from the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Out of all MCU movies, Captain America: Civil War is the best one in my opinion. The story is continued from the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron where the devastation of a fictional country, Sokovia, is blamed on the Avengers. To prevent future destructions caused by super-powered or highly advanced human beings, the Sokovia Accords, a regulation approved by many countries around the world, needs to be referenced by the Avengers. This means that the Avengers will be operated under the supervision of the United Nations, and those who do not approve of this will be recognised as outlaws. Unfortunately, not all of the Avengers agreed on this, which formed two opposing sides of the team. Iron Man led the team who agrees upon signing the Sokovia Accords, while Captain America’s team believed that the Avengers shouldn’t move under regulations.
ReplyDeleteThis is probably my favourite article to comment from the whole blog. I am super excited to describe my favourite movie as well as to be able to read other people’s description of their favourite movies. I have to admit, even the word ‘movie’ is potentially to be my favourite word. Although i can’t really mention my favourite movie since i adore them all and i would say i have one for each genre, but if i really have to answer, my favourite movie is Flipped. It is a romance comedy movie, however, it is not your typical romance comedy movie for its setting. Set in the 50s, the movie tells about two teenagers during their junior high school times. What interesting from this movie is that it views both of the leading roles’ point of view alternately throughout the storyline. It is very entertaining for it depicts the love story of a very young girl and boy. It also gives you that small giggles whenever a cute scene comes up. The setting in the 50s makes it a lot cuter for things were very old school back then, especially for love things. Therefore, i would recommend this movie to everyone. For anyone reading my comment, you really have to watch it as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan of movies. But I have my favorite movie that I could watch it all over again. My favorite movie is Harry Potter. I watched the movie just a couple of years ago after visiting Harry Potter land in Japan. When entering that world i was deeply fascinated with all the things in the movies like the wand and the butter beer. After that trip, i binge watched the whole series in just a week. The whole magical and whimsical world of Harry Potter made me do more research about the behind the scenes of making every movie. The dynamic of the three main characters reminds me a lot about me and my friends. They have a special bond that I think is unique among all other friendship in other movies. And to know that they are actually friends in real life is very much intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI would call myself as a movie lover. I’m always up to date on new movies in all genres. So far, my favorite movie is Collateral Beauty. It is released in 2016 but I still love that movie even until now. A lot of people said that the movie is boring and doesn’t have any plot twist. But honestly, what I like about this movie is there is a lot of hidden messages. Basically, Collateral Beauty is about a father who lost his daughter and hate the world ever since. So, he wrote a letter to love, death and time. The reason why I like this movie so much is that it teaches me that I should value my life more. My favorite quote from the movie is “Be sure to notice the collateral beauty. It’s the profound connection to everything.”. Collateral beauty means that there is the hidden meaning behind every event, even the bad ones, and there could be a beautiful hidden thing behind that.

ReplyDeleteAmong the movies that I have ever watched, I can’t decide which one is my favorite, as I am a fond of lots of movies in different genres. But there’s one movie that might be one of my favorite movies that come to my mind when the topic “favorite movie” is asked. Green Hornet (2011), I’ve actually watched this movie a couple of times already but I still enjoyed it every time I rewatch the movie. The Green Hornet itself is a fictional crime fighter created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker in 1936. The Movie green Hornet (2011) was a remake of the 1936 Green Hornet. This movie tells about the story of Britt Reid; a slacker that likes to party a lot who is the son of a millionaire, and Kato; Britt’s father mechanics and a master in martial arts. After the mysterious death of Britt’s father, he and Kato decided to work together in cleansing the city from crime while investigating the death of his father. They called themselves “The Green Hornet” and they pursue criminals with their high tech gear created by Kato. I personally think this movie is really fun to watch as it is not only filled with action-packed scenes but also it is complemented by a twist of comedy within the movie.
About my favourite movie. First of all, my most favourite genre is science-fictions and fantasy. Because of that fact, my most favourite movie is Mirror Mask. Actually, for many people, that movie is really peculiar, but still, I really love it! I also like every Alice in Wonderland movie, especially the 1951 one. I also really love this movie called The Theory of Everything. But, my favourite one since I was in elementary school is Mirror Mask. Why? Because it developed my imagination, the movie also has so many unique and peculiar creatures, I love it. So, this movie is about Helena, a circus performer, who is sick of her family's career as circus performers. Later on, she has an argument with her mother and after that her mother hospitalised after that argument and Helena strangely finds herself trapped in a fantasy world shortly after. In that world, Helena starts her peculiar journey to go back to her real world.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie is “Schindler’s List” directed by Steven Spielberg. Released in 1993, the movie is based on the real life story of a German businessman Oskar Schindler during World War 2. The character Schindler was a portrayal of one candle light in a dark enormous room. The reason why Schindler’s List becomes my favorite movie is because it depicts a sense of humanity within an individual in the midst of hubris, pride and ego of World War 2. Schindler’s sense of humanity was shown even though he was a high-ranker in the Nazi Business (it was a norm among the Nazi to hate the Jews). Even so, Schindler was brave enough to do something that would place him in grave danger if caught as he believed that it needed to be done. He was an individual brave enough not to conform to the society by going against everything he was taught to do, including hating the jews. The movie delineated Schindler’s struggle and dilemma between his fear as well as his determination to follow his conscience.
ReplyDeleteI don’t watch movies quite often. I’m not that type of person that watch a new movie as soon as it comes out to the scene. However, I have one movie that I think is one of the best movies ever made in the industry of filmography. That movie is called Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a movie with a lot of sequels. This film, which is based on fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling, talks about the lives and journey of a young wizard named Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger, who is a muggle born wizard, and Ron Weasley. Born as a kid that could survive against the magic spell called avada kedavra, a trade mark killing curse of Voldemort, and defeated Voldemort made him so special and famous in the wizardry world. But as Voldemort revive and prepare a revenge, Harry needs to prepare himself and learn about wizardry at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as he’s the only one who’s able to defeat him.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite movie is actually the one that i watched 3 days ago, it is "Venom". The one thing i like the most is the relationship between Eddie Brock and his “partner”, i am not talking about the women, but someone who is going to be his very close bestfriend, in fact, they are always together. The first thirty minutes of the film, it is not so much action and adrenaline pumping moment, but it is consisted from building up for the next part of the movie. The building up process was so good, the comedy is top notch, the fictive part is not real but yet so realistic in many ways. I am so amazed. The first part of the movie is showing some astronauts go back from the expedition and bringing some organic specimen from the space that might be useful in a way for people in the planet earth. But the accident was occured and one of the specimen is escaped from the container. I think it is enough for me to tell you, but believe me, what i told you in this writing has nothing to make you not being amazed with the later plot of the story, happy watching!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite film of all time would be Wreck it Ralph because it has a plot and movie theme that I have never seen before when it was released back when I was still in middle school. I don’t particularly care if people say that I’m childish or weird for liking a kid’s movie, but Disney movies have inspired me to value things that I have never valued before much in my life such as friendship and simply not giving up for something that I want to achieve. This movie is also just aesthetically pleasing to the eyes because the terrains and characters are just colorful with unique designs and animations. Since the sequel will be released either this November or December, I am really excited and really cant wait to watch it with my friends because thankfully my friends also like that movie and are not too arrogant in judging the movie genres that I like.
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen a lot of great films, but this is something else entirely. This is my number one pick of favorite film. Bird Man or (Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), 2014 black comedy film by Alejandro G Inaritu, Mexican director who directs an Oscar winning film as well; The Revenant. The movie received critically acclaimed at that time, and won the Oscar’s best picture, with numerous another awards. The cast is a class! It has Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Emma Stone and even Naomi Watts!
ReplyDeleteThe main character named Regan Thompson whom biggest role was 20 something years ago as a comic book superhero and he's played by Michael Keaton, who’s a movie star that also having a big role about 20 years ago as well in Batman sequels; Batman-Bird Man—you can see the similarities. The film digs into the interesting topic of our current obsession with superhero movies too, because it talks about Robert Downey Junior and another great actor that walk away from serious acting career, but instead taking the easy way (super hero movies). So yeah, it’s a little bit of art imitating life in art. The plot was kind of satire to the current film industry where actors/actresses have become a celebrity in a new age.
The central character, Regan Thompson is not on board with that, because he doesn't want to play the game that has to be played right now. He wants to resurrect acting in a form of the pure acting; a play in a Broadway to prove that he’s a real actor. However, he also wants to have success, he needs money because he hasn't worked in awhile—So, there’s the internal struggle which is so real for the main characters. The plot centers around the set of play that he’s preparing, and Regan Thompson is facing a midlife crisis, that’s he’s struggle upon his own obsession of being a purist in a entirely new film industry. He’s a divorced man, having a drug troubled daughter, and also has to interact with seemingly crazy Broadway people at the same time.
The film is delivered weirdly in the best possible way. It's very well acted, the casts do a great job. For me that I took away, the most interesting about this movie is that it was so well put together. It's really honestly been since Momento (film) where I've seen a movie where the style of it, the structure of it really accentuated the narrative of the movie. Another interesting thing for the movie is the long-panned style of the cinematography where the way that the scene is taken is looked as if it is taken in a one single shot; making the entire film, the whole thing feels like a place that pieces are getting real in and out. For me, it’s a must see if you haven’t seen it, and you should!
ReplyDeleteMy Favourite movie is Jagten. Jagten (English: The Hunt) is a Danish movie starring the famous Hollywood actor Mads Mikkelsen. The movie is about a kindergarten teacher in a small village somewhere on the countryside of Denmark. His life is not going too well, but at the start of the movie everything starts to get better. At least, until one of the children, that actually has an innocent crush on the teacher, tells a lie. She tells school head that the teacher showed her his genitals. From the movie it is clear that this a lie, but this lie has a big effect on the teacher’s life. The whole community believes the girl and they will make the teacher’s life impossible. He is fired from his job, he is not allowed in any local store and they even killed his dog. To make everything even worse: the girl is the daughter of his very best friend. A must watch if you like drama arthouse movies.
As much as I want to stop and restrain myself from watching movies, I can’t. I’m a huge fan of movies. I’ve watched plenty of them. But there’s this one movie that really captured everything in all the right places. The title of the movie is “Midnight Sun”, it tells the story of a teenager named Katie Price who’s always in her house during the day due to a rare disease that makes her unable to be exposed to sunlight. But everything is changing since she met Charlie. Bella Thorne took the role as Katie, and Patrick Schwarzenegger on the other hand took the role as Charlie. I was very impressed with the director, because it turned out that this was not the first time he had succeeded in creating a film. Apparently he was also the person behind the movie “Step Up”. It’s amazing what this two-hour movie could do to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love the most about this movie is that it made me realize not to take the trivial things in life for granted. This is in fact a disease that does exist in real life. It is called Xeroderma pigmentosum. The fact that this disease does exist really surprised me. I can’t imagine how it feels like to not be able to go outside on a daily basis. So close yet so far away. You can see it, but you can’t feel it. Not having to know how it feels like to be a child, this disease basically took all the good childhood memories away. Being the trivia geek that I am, the idea of not being able to experience the trivial things in life really scared me. This is why I love this movie so much, it gives me more reason as to why I have to value the trivial things in life. It’s not a sappy movie filled with romantic clichés. It has such a profound message behind it, and I really recommend you to watch this movie.
DeleteMy favorite movie of all time is called The Sound of Music. I loved it so much that I actually took the movie tour in Salzburg, Austria just to take a look at the movie set. Regardless of whether you have watched the movie or not, I do think that Salzburg is one of the most charming city I have ever visited in my life. It is a small, romantic city where Mozart was born which has a very beautiful view of mountains and lakes.
ReplyDeleteThe movie has a rating of 8.0/10.0 from IMDB and it was published in 1965. It is about a woman who left an Austrian convent to become a governess of seven children in which their mother has passed away, and their father is a Naval officer. At first, the children were very disobedient and pulled jokes on her such as putting a frog on her skirt. Once she gets to know each of them better, they grew closer and she starts to fill the emptiness in the house.
The scene took place during the World War where Austria is invaded by the Nazi Germany. So, will they survive?
Talking about favorite film, one of my favorite films is "The Greatest Showman". This film is having an amazing positive vibes. "The Greatest Showman" is a musical drama film that tells us about the journey of someone named P. T. Barnum, a visionary who having a big dream to build his own circus. This film is having a good meaning value. This film tells us to not giving up on our dream, always stay positive, dare to take the risk, and always seeking for a new opportunity. What I like the most from this film is the music. All of the sound track in this film encourages us to always believing in our self and dream high. The beats of the sound track make us feel happy. By watching this film, we could feel the mesmerizing show stopping performances. Don't forget that the cast is also playing a good role. If you want to watch a motivating but also entertaining film, i would recommend you to watch this film.
ReplyDeleteIn my life, i’ve seen and watched a whole bunch of movies. Whether it was a horror movie, action movie, romantic movie, or comedy movie. Personally, i love comedy and action movies, especially war movies, and i absolutely hate horror movies, especially Indonesian horror movies. I love the movie titled “American Sniper”, it tells us about the story of a US Navy SEALs sniper, Chris Kyle. The movie was brought up from the book Kyle wrote, after he served his tour of duty in Iraq. Chris Kyle is considered as one of the American heroes, as he was one of a loyal and decorated soldier. Kyle was actually a rodeo rider, and after the 9/11 incident, he was eager to join the fight against the terrorist. After serving in the battlefield, he felt like he was responsible to protect his team in the battlefield. He was so obsessed with his job in the SEALs. He reportedly have 150 killcounts throughout his military career, and it is the highest killcount among snipers in the history of American military.
ReplyDeleteI might not be updated about the movies screened in the cinemas today but I’m an avid fan of romantic-comedy movies from the 90’s and early 00’s. However, my choice of favourite movie this time is a little different ; it is slightly depressing and dark but also shows humane affection for the lonely and vulnerable which makes the movie ingenious and sophisticated. From the recollections of memories of the movies I’ve watched, none others are able to convey a triumph of emotions and imagination as vivid as this one. ‘Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind’ is a science-fiction drama with a mind-blowing twist of romance and comedy, far from your conventional sci-fi flick. The movie tells the story of a couple whose relationship had turned sour from the frequent tumultuous quarrels. Joel Barish, (played by Jim Carrey) was heartbroken when he knew his girlfriend, Clementine (played by Kate Winslet) underwent a procedure to erase him from her memory, and decided to do the same. However, as he watches his memories of her fade away, he realizes that he still loves her, and might be too late to correct his mistake. ‘Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind’ is susceptibly the best movie I’ve ever watched as it is a a brain-twisting baroque you’ll only stumble over once in a lifetime. This movie perfectly depicts the human behaviour towards love, where we just can’t get enough of it, always trying to search and attain the non-existent state of perfection and ended up being bent and broken, scarred and devastated ; and it’s so much harder to salvage something when so many pieces have been broken. ‘Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind’ teaches us that trying to evade hurtful memories or moments of regret only leaves us back where we started.
ReplyDelete“How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd”
Blessed are the forgetful, for they get the better even of their blunders.
i basically enjoy all kinds of films. Different genres do not really matter to me as long as the story is wicked, the twists are awesome, and the actings are pleasant to watch. But talking about favorites, my favorite kind of film is documentary. To be honest i enjoy so much in seeing things that happened in the past, especially below the 1990s, before the internet and all these advanced gadgets completely rule and consume many hours in each days of our lives. "Hacksaw Ridge" is my favorite of all. It is a mixed of old school style of shots and scenes blended together with the advanced green screen and CGI which makes the movie feels so deep in the eyes. The story started from two brothers that have a father of retired soldier. Their father has a deep trauma because of the first world war. Ever since he came home, he became a severe alcoholic. One time the two young brothers (Desmond and Harold) played around with punches and fists, Desmond got carried away and hit his brother till he fainted. His father punished Desmond for the deed he had done. And one night, Desmond was grown and mature enough, he heard his parents fighting in the living room. His dad pulled a gun to his mother's face and Desmond jumped in to steal the pistol. He succeed and his father offered the chance to pull the trigger in front of his father's face. He couldn't do it. These things later on developed the sense of anti-violence in Desmond's ideology. He then fell in love with medical studies and went to war as a medic. The rest is history.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that jumped to my mind regarding favorite film is “Your Name” directed by Makoto Shinkai. Yes, it may be an animated film, and yes, it is Japanese animated film making it an anime, but I believed that this movie had a chance of being one of the greatest movies or at least one of the best animated film out there. In my opinion the core of making a good movie are good plot, good character development, good music or soundtracks and in case of animation, good art style. But, after watching this film found a new requirement i never thought before which is the way the movie reaches my heart. The story is about a 17 year old girl named Mitsuha is living in the rural village of Itomori and a 17 year old boy named Taki living in Tokyo. After the appearance of a passing comet in the sky, they mysteriously begin swapping bodies, a day at a time and unexpectedly. They fumble through each other’s lives, and with each other’s bodies, with a mixture of horror and fascination. But then the swaps stop occurring, Taki travels to the mountains in search of Mitsuha’s home to find the truth of what happened. Even though this movie is considered as a romance movie, yet the strongest point of the movie itself is not the relationship between the two main characters but instead it is actually the depiction of nostalgic carefree live style that we once used to have.
ReplyDeleteBeing a sucker for sad love stories I would say if given the chance to choose 1 movie to be awarded favourite romance movie it would have to be A Walk to Remember. Out of all the Nicholas Spark's adapted movie from his romance novel series A Walk to Remember is my favorite. It's a movie about a bad boy and a good girl. The boy has a group of friends that would always make troubles in and out of school. The girl is a preacher's daughter so she is very obedient and submissive to her religion like how her father taught. All this time the boy never really noticed the girl and at one point he needed her help and being the nice girl that she is she helped him. Having to spent a lot of tine together made him realize that there's more to her than what she really shows to everyone and he slowly starts to like him but of course no love story comes with an easy journey. He has to go through her strict father and the comments that were made by his friends about him spending more time with her and not with them anymore. But there's this one thing that they have to go to that is absolutely beyond their control and they will have to face it together.
ReplyDelete“I will search through a thousand worlds, through ten thousand lifetimes until I find you.”
ReplyDeleteCall me dramatic, but I swear, for me that sentence has the deepest meaning among every sentence in every movie I have ever watched. It was from 47 Ronin, a movie that was directed by Carl Rinsch, and the super goodlooking Keanu Reeves as Kai, the main character. It was a big movie back in 2013. The movie opens with a narrator setting the scene, telling us how feudal Japan is structured and telling us that witchcraft and demons exist there. I don’t usually watch Japanese movies, but this one is one of a kind. It has a great Japanese fantasy tale, filled with epic samurai upholding social order ahead of their own lives. The film does a great job of showing that duty and honor to ones lord is far more important than adventure. This movie is very deep if you are willing to look for it.
Three years ago, I saw a post on 9 gag about a new amazon series called “The Man in The High Castle”, based on the Phillip K. Dock book with the same title. The post is a movie poster with a man wearing old nazi high ranking uniform, overlooking a giant American flag with the stars replaced by a nazi logo. “WHAT IF WE LOST?” was written below that poster in huge fonts. I was in awe and I quickly rushed to the comment section and found out that The Man in The High Castle is an American TV Series depicting a dystopian alternate history where the United States of America lost the war and the axis powers divided the United States into the Greater Nazi Reich (East) and the Japanese Pacific States (West). I watched the series after that and I was blown away by the difference and realism depicted in the film. I really recommend you guys to watch this series.
ReplyDeleteI really love watching movies whenever I am in the mood or just because I am bored. There are so many movies I love from different genres. But, there is only one movie that I always watch and never get bored with the movie; Confessions of A Shopaholic. This movie is my all-time favorite. I would say that this is the best chick flick I have ever watched. I love how the plot goes and how every star really suits the character they play. I really love seeing Isla Fisher as Rebecca Bloomwood and Hugh Dancy as Luke Brandon in the movie. The movie is about a woman named Rebecca Bloomwood who is a really obsessed shopaholic. She shops a lot and eventually sunk in her own debt. She works in a magazine company where she met her future lover, Luke Brandon. The story tells about how she overcomes her difficulties of paying debt and how she went from zero to a hundred in her career. The movie also tells about her love conflict with Luke Brandon in the best way possible.
ReplyDeleteIm a movie lover. So if i had to choose 1 film out of hundreds of films i’ve watched, it would be The Hangover. I was hesitant for quite a few reasons. One being that I was a little unimpressed with the trailer, but trust me, after you see this movie you will realize that most of the movie couldn't have possibly made it into the trailer. Another reason was the writers, their previous works being The Ghosts of Girlfriend's Pasts and Four Christmases and Rebound. I don't know what they did between those and this but damn did they step their game up. Now, the movie is very funny. I have become so used to the thought of the Judd Apatow gang being the only ones to make truly funny films, but I realized very quickly into this movie that I was dead wrong. I think this movie was by far ten times funnier than superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Step Brothers, etc. And I find each of those flicks hilariously.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy watching different movie genres, depending on my mood and what I prefer at the time. But my favourite genre that I will never get tired of watching is romance. I’m a big fan of sad, romantic, love stories. One of my favourite romance movie would have to be The Vow, which is based on the story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter’s actual relationship. They wrote a book on their marriage, titled The Vow which then became a movie. The Vow is the eight highest-grossing romantic drama film since 1980, according to wikipedia. This movie tells the story of a young married couple, Paige (Rachel McAdams) and Leo (Channing Tatum), who got in a car crash. Paige woke up with a severe memory loss, and lost all memories of the past few years including meeting Leo and their marriage. Leo works to help Paige regain her memory, as he is still very much in love with Paige, even though she sees him as a complete stranger. This movie never fails to make me cry no matter how many times I watch it, and I definitely recommend this for everyone who loves romantic drama films.
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorite movie is a movie called about time, starring Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson. This movie story line actually is all about Domhnall Gleeson (Tim) which is a guy that just know the fact that every men in his family can travel through time. The movie’s plot is actually a bit complicated because in this movie they messing around with the aspects of time. Tim usually used his ability to go back in time just to make things go as he planned, when the event already happened yet he is not happy with the result, as he always tried to impress Rachel McAdams (Mary) when they first met, then he always go back in time just to impress her better until he reached his goal to have a good first impression in front of her, then they became a lover. But throughout the time he realised that if he go back to the past and try to change things that already happened, he will sacrifice other things. And he realised that to live his best life, he has to make everyday of his life counts without changing anything. What I got from this movie is that, to experience the best out of our life is to face every uncertainties in this life, because the most certain things in this world is the uncertainty itself.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy action movies or thrilling movies, cause it makes me feel excited and thrilled while watching. But what really interest me are movies that touches the heart, or in other words very emotional. It’s sometimes nice to just let your emotion out while watching a movie, especially when your with significant other or loved ones. I’ve already watched hundreds of movies and a lot of them were able to satisfy me and made me have a good impression upon it. But one movie that I would like to mention, that would cover the criteria that I mention before, is “Train to Busan”. “Train to Busan” is a South Korean zombie apocalypse action thriller movie. The movie has an amazing story and is very intense. The suspense is so good, it’s sometimes annoying. But the movie is still enjoyable because of it. And it is very emotional in the end of the movie. I would recommend anyone to watch this movie.
ReplyDeleteMy taste in a movie can be very erratic, I like when the plot was set to be very peculiar at the very first place and as the story goes, it added up with many conflicts that keeping us guessing how will the plot goes. Therefore, my criteria in a movie are very specific, starting from how would they show their character’s background through the cinematic look until how would the plot will be revealed for each character. From all the movies that I have watched so far, Shawshank Redemption is the one that never fails to impress me. Although I have watched this movie for a couple of times, there are still many things that I’m missing on. The story started with a character named Andy Dufresne was sentenced to jail for committing the crime of murdering his own wife, even though he already objected to the charges that were given to him, his voices were never heard by the judges.
ReplyDeleteAs the story continues, Andy is trapped inside the gigantic walls and tower that were guarded by the security and their guns watching over him. He was all alone, stuck in a dangerous and cruel environment, surrounded by people who already taking live off another. Surviving out of this prison is almost impossible, everyone will always have a bad intention towards other. However, as the plot goes forward, Andy met several people who will eventually become his true friends that he could trust like Ellis Redding or short for “Red” who was played by Morgan Freeman. On the other hand, he will also face a problem where he needs to find shelter from the assault of another inmate within the prison. The plot is very tortuous as it filled with surprises in the ups and downs of the story, and this is why the movie always amaze me.
Deletei have become a huge movie lover since i was a little. I watched tons amount of movie throughout my whole life. Based on my personal preference, i have to say that thriller and adventure would probably be the best and my absolute favourite movie genre of all time. If i have to choose one movie out of these two genre, i think i’m gonna go with “Coco”. The story focused on the adventure and journey of a young boy name Miguel. He likes music very much, however the music it self were restricted and banned within his family. The dilemma between fulfilling his dream to be a great musician or to follow his family rule brought him into a long journey filled with sadness, hatred, twists, and many more. To be honest, i’m not a huge fans of cartoon or animated types movie. However, Coco has successfully change this perception of mine and it turned out to be one of the best if not the only animated movie i like throughout my whole life.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite movie has got to be Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn is a movie series consisting of about seven episodes. Not only does the movie series has very great soundtracks and animations, the movie series also spells a conclusion to the One Year War that took place in the outer space, between two opposing parties; The Federation and the Principality of Zeon. Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn tells its story in a way that the audiences get to progress together with the main character, knowing that the main character started out pretty naïve just as the audiences who first entered a cinema waiting to be impressed by the movie they bought a ticket for. The movie series digs deep into the agendas of both parties on why one of them started the war, while the other wanted to maintain the war; how the war affects the Earth’s population as well as the population of the space colonies left to orbit the Earth to compensate for the Earth’s population growth. Not only that, the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn has proven itself again and again in successfully creating the perfect atmosphere for the audiences to indulge in and making them tear up not because of sadness, but due to powerful and emotional scenes accompanied with the perfect use of soundtracks from its disposal of one of the best soundtrack albums in history.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie of all time is The Dark Knight. Actually, I am a fan of all the Batman series but I strongly believe that this particular movie is the best one out of all of them. The reason why The Dark Knight is the best movie because of the mind games that The Joker played in the movie, there is also the other villain, Harvey Dent or Two Face, which became the sympathetic villain, the Bat Pod which is the Batman’s motorcycle and it is something that I have never seen before in The Batman Series, the fatherly bond between Lucius Fox and Batman, and also the relationship between Batman and Joker. This is the biggest and most intriguing rivalry in all of comics because they dance around each other with such passion. What's even more interesting is how Batman manages to never kill him. Joker didn't even need to get personal with Bruce because he just knew that torturing Gotham was all he needed to do to weed Batman out. His actions showed that he had no fear of the hero, and from the trailer scene to the end where Joker kicked him up while using dogs, it was all about chaos. The interrogation scene summed things up where Joker admitted he didn't want to kill Batman anymore as he was now a factor in the villain's life, saying "you complete me" in a strange twist on a romantic cinematic line. In the finale, he also joked they were destined to do this forever, as an immovable object and an unstoppable force, even when the narcissistic villain was captured. Their dynamic was poetic yet violent.
ReplyDeleteAs a movie lover, I have watched a lot of movies, whether its action, drama, comedy, or horror. Each genre has its own uniqueness that sometimes gives important messages to its viewer. Well if I have to pick one favorite movie, it will definitely be Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. So the movie is basically a reboot of Superman story directed by Snyder himself and written by david S goyer. The movie stars Henry Cavill as lead. For me what makes this superman story is so different and unique from the previous incarnations is how Snyder managed to approach the story from a realistic way that gives us a different perspective on how superman could fit in the world of mankind. Even though the movie got a lot of critics for being too “dark” and “serious’, but for me I prefer this darker take on superhero stories as it elevates the stakes and consequences of the story itself.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I haven’t comment on this blog yet, is that I don’t know what to say in it. I spent my entire life watching movies, and I’ve become quite the critic on them. It would be impossible for me to mention just one movie which stands out from the rest. Over the wide genre of action, sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, drama, thriller, and horror, I’ve always leaned in to the occasional action flick. Most of the movies I watch are superhero movies from DC or the MCU; I always mark my calendar for when they will be released, for I am a big nerd for the comic book franchise. Nowadays I attempt to try out other genres as well. I don’t tend to watch horror movies often because of how easily I get traumatized, especially after something like “Insidious” or “The Conjuring”, therefore I don’t watch them often. There are several movies that stood out for me, movies like “Star Wars” strike out due to its unique mix of sci-fi, fantasy, and action; not to mention its iconic soundtrack composed by none other than John Williams. The soundtrack of movies play a major role in its success. John Williams captures the essence of the movies in his soundtracks for them, the most notable being “Star Wars”, “Jurassic Park”, “E.T”, “Jaws”, “Indiana Jones”, “Superman”, “Harry Potter”, and “Home Alone”. The credit and responsibility of a movie’s success or failure lies in its director and its studio; they have the power to revive a franchise into popularity, like what James Gunn did with “Guardians of the Galaxy”, or to ruin it entirely like what Michael Bay did to the Transformers franchise or what Warner Brothers are currently doing to DC. The comic book movies that really caught my attention are “Avengers”, “Spiderman”, “The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Logan”, and “Black Panther”. “The Avengers” was the movie that propelled the MCU into popularity, while its third instalment was the accumulation of ten years of hard work “Spiderman” was the first superhero movie to appeal to the mainstream audience, and changed the superhero genre forever. Before “Spiderman”, superhero movies have a bad reputation and not fully appreciated. People saw nothing more than geeks putting on costumes to fight a conventional villain with questionable motives. Directors like Sam Raimi and Christopher Nolan changed the way we see superheroes, and comic books in general; with “The Dark Knight” being the first superhero movie to get an Oscar. “Black Panther” is a cultural milestone for it brought minority groups into mainstream media. It’s the perfect superhero standalone movie that doesn’t rely on other movies to explain important elements in the plot. It showed character development and isn’t afraid to go against common story tropes; it also perfectly captures the tragedy of the villain, which is one of the aspects that made this movie stand out. “Logan” showed an aged hero living with depression and regret for his past actions; it is the best swan song to a character who’s interpretation was imprinted on us for over a decade. Comic book movies aside, there are other movies that caught my attention. “Apocalypto” is a movie directed by Mel Gibson; it stood out to me because it showed a perfectly good story, with character development, tragedy, and human phycology, with little to no spoken dialogue. The language featured in the movie is the Yucatec Maya language, which cemented its atmosphere of authenticity. I don’t normally watch drama or romance because I find myself unable to stay awake for the duration of the movie; but the ones I watch, I give credit to. I enjoyed “Begin Again”, not just because of the cast and memorable soundtrack, but also for the story and character development. “Collateral Beauty” is another one that captured my attention; I wanted to watch it in theaters when it came out, but I missed my chance. That movie is so moving and powerful that it left me emotional. All in all, I think important elements that come together to make a really good movie are: story, character development, fluidity, and memorable soundtrack
ReplyDeleteTalking about movies, I have a lot of movies that I like. I'm not comparing some movies by its genre, but I prefer to compare the movies by its value. So, it is no matter whatever kind of movies. If the movies have a good value and have their own interest, see from its trailer, of course, I will watch it. But, if I should choose one movie, I will choose The Eight Belows movies. It was my childhood movies. When I was in elementary school, I had watched this movie repeatedly. Until now, the whole line, how the movie was. First thing what made me fascinated with this movie, was not from the trailer of its movie, but the cover of it. Guess what? It is a dog. I really adore dog before, so whatever dog movies, I had watched it, such as hotel for dogs movie, air buddies series, I had watched it all before.
ReplyDeleteIf I got asked about my favourite movie, I couldn’t really say which movie it is because I watched a lot of amazing and interesting movies and I couldn’t just pick one. But in this comment section, I’m going to talk about a rom-com movie that I watched a lot when I was younger. The title of the movie is “50 First Dates”. No, the main character isn’t a slut who went around dating many people, no. The story tells about a man who fell in love with a girl he met in a restaurant. He didn’t know that the girl suffers from Goldfield’s syndrome, which is similar to a short-term memory loss. So, the next day after he introduced himself to her and fell in love with her, he went to the same restaurant to see her again. But because of her syndrome, she didn’t recognize him and look at him just like another stranger. So every day he went there to try to make her fall in love with him.
