I see that you are taking a turn on the songs you put on this section, sir. These five songs probably represent the ‘hit’ songs of my generation, the millenials. I’ve never actually been a big fan of one direction or even Bieber, but I do listen to songs of Taylor Swift, and I also idolize Miley Cyrus in her Hannah Montana—a tv show she stars in—days. Then my attention draws to the one hit wonder artist, Rebecca Black. Her single ‘Friday’ was an internet sensation. Everyone was criticizing how bad her voice was, and how lame the song is about. She was only 13 at the time, and receiving that many hates was I guess, overwhelming. Since then, she ‘vacuumed’ from the music industry and didn’t came back until recently. She auditioned for an American talent show called ‘the four’. Her comeback was epic. She really improved her singing skills, and she looked so much prettier all grown up. This ‘glow up’ didn’t only happen to Rebecca Black, though. Almost all the artist above had pretty much grown up or even in one direction’s case, grown apart. But they’ve been a really big impact on my taste of music on my early pre-teen days. I can see years from now, they’re going to be the ones called ‘Legendary’.
These songs provide an extraordinary sensation of nostalgia. I remembered memories of childhood when I was in elementary and junior high school. Lots of past events symbolized by these songs. The first song, Miley Cyrus “Party In The USA” reminded me of my experience attending a friend's birthday party at junior high school. This song gave euphoria to all participants. Second, Taylor Swift" We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together "is a song that describes my mood when I was a junior high school after fighting with someone. One of my favourite bands until now, ”One Direction" is a band that I am still waiting for their reunion after their hiatus from 2015. The last one, "Justin Bieber" is a singer that I didn't use to like because of his style but now after collaborating with several music producers such as DJ Snake, Shawn Mendes, Major Lazer. Justin has given a new sensation to his genre.
I think one of the reasons why these five songs are the most hated videos on Youtube is because they are some of the most popular videos or songs on Youtube. From those five celebrities, I personally like Taylor Swift the most. I used to be a Swifty (as embarrassing as that is), which is Taylor Swift’s fan base. Taylor Swift has won 23 American Music Words, which is most wins by a female artist. I love her album “Speak Now” the most, and I’ve memorized every word to every lyrics from every song in that particular album. I think she’s incredibly talented, since she can play a lot of musical instruments, she could sing, and she writes her own songs. She inspires me by being extremely passionate in pursuing her dreams. I’ve always admired people who could pursue their dreams passionately and ends up achieving their dreams. I think a life lived following your dreams is a life extremely worth living.
Okay, another Four Songs article that I can comment. This time I see Justin Bieber. Justin is actually one of my favorite singers. Eventhough he got a lot of scandals and controversy, I have to say that he is actually a very down to earth person. In his earlier days of being a singer, he did a lot of good things and he used to always took care of his fans. One Direction used to be my favorite boyband back then. But back then, Justin's and One Direction's fans used to fight a lot because Justin and 1D always competed in music awards. As a fan of both, I was confused back then. In the end I didn't vote and just let the fans fought. Next, I don't know what is wrong but I just don't really like Taylor Swift. I like her songs, but I just don't like her as a human being. Don't ask me why, because I don't even know why. Anyway, all the songs you mentioned above is songs that I used to listen when I was still in junior high school. Ahh, such a good old days (lol eventhough it happened only like five years ago).
Another Four Songs article that involves songs that I actually know or listen to. The song Friday by Rebecca Black was a song that got a lot of attention back when it first came out. It got a lot of backlash and hate because of how cringe-worthy and horrible it was. Rebecca Black was and is still bullied until today because of that song and music video. I actually heard her real voice without auto tune, and it is surprisingly good. For the song Party In The U.S.A, it was actually one of my favourite song as a child. I was a huge fan of Miley Cyrus back when she was in Hannah Montana. I used to play that song religiously because I was that obsessed with that song and Miley Cyrus. The song We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together was also one of my favourite song as a teenager. I was once a fan of Taylor Swift, before she became annoying and overrated. For the song Baby and What Makes You Beautiful they were never really my favourite but I do remember those two being a complete hit when the video first dropped. I just realized that all of the songs in the Four Songs article are songs I listen to growing up. I have to say I have a love and hate relationship with these songs since they are all overplayed.
Here we go, songs that were booming in our generation’s times of puberty. I remember ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber came out in 2010 where I and my friends were still having the best times of our lives, clueless about life ahead of us. Justin Bieber must thank the internet for making his song one of the best hits of all time. At that time, I thought the music got nice beats. It’s catchy, easy-listening, lyrics are somehow relatable, and also the rap by Ludacris is easy to follow. The music video on Youtube has got 2 billion views and it’s still increasing until this second. The funny thing is it has an almost one to one comparison between the likes and dislikes, ten million likes and 9.5 million dislikes. Probably the reason why people pressed the dislike button was because his pre-puberty voice that somehow annoys someone. Just an assumption though, but hey, look at him now, probably one of the most successful singers of all time.
Those 5 songs were pop songs that were very popular a few years ago. Although the songs have a very large number of dislikes, there are also many people who like those songs, including me. My most favorite song among those 5 songs is a song called 'what makes you beautiful' sung by one direction. The band, which has rarely appeared together again, was once very popular and popular with young people, In fact, until now I still hear that song often. Besides that, the song 'baby' by Justin Bieber which had become a trend in the past, the song managed to bring Justin Bieber to become a famous singer like today. Justin himself is one of my favorite singers, he has a cool style and also a good voice, besides that the songs he brought were very good to hear. The songs have different stories , and is very suitable for teenagers' lives. No wonder most fans of the song are teenagers.
I am not a fan of any of the songs posted, but it does not mean that I hate popular things just for me to look edgy. For me, the most remarkable song out of the five is Rebecca Black’s Friday, a notoriously hideous piece of music, making itself a meme of its era. I can recall the times where I watched its equally horrible music video as well. The song has no meaning whatsoever, clearly made out of teen angst. Justin Bieber’s Baby and One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful raised both artists to their prominence, as both artists arguably have the biggest fanbases in the music industry up until now. As for the post-Hannah Montana Miley Cyrus, at the times where she was an idol for Generation Z’s females growing up, it is sad to see how her lifestyle hindered his potential as an artist if you compare her with the seemingly “matured “ Miley, especially because she is considerably multitalented.
All of the songs above were my favorite when they first released it. If i had to put it in order, the first would be Party in the USA. This song is the lead single from Miley Cyrus' first ever EP Time of our Lives. The song's producers are famous singer; Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson collaborators Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly. A reporter asked Miley Cyrus which Jay-Z hit inspired the lyric, to which Miley replied: "I don't know, I didn't write the song, so I have no idea. Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn't write it and I didn't expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best." The music video itself was a hit even though many people criticize or dislike her, overall she's a hit.
“Oh my God, finally”, that’s the only sentence that came out from my mouth after seeing this post. I don’t know why but I get so excited when I saw all these fetus songs. These five songs are used to be my most played songs in my playlist back in middle school. Anyway, I start to play all the video one by one and realized all the difference occurred in each one of them. All the differences are so obvious. First we can see from their faces, it’s definitely puberty. Second, the rhythm of their songs; if we compare between the songs they produce back then and now then it will definitely different since they keep evolving their music. Beside on their differences, I also found out the similarities between all of them; which no one will ever forget all these five fetus songs. They used to be so amazing and popular back then, so it won’t be easy for people to forget them. Like me for example, it used to be my favorite songs back in middle school; but now until college, I still enjoy and listen to all of them.
I love hearing to songs; all of this are in my childhood lists of songs that I have heard. Even those singers are still contributing in song writing until now, although I didn’t follow the trend of hit songs often, but what I know like; Justin Bieber, and Miley Cyrus, are still creating albums and even going to world tours. But sometimes, high expectations can come great regrets. Like in the boy band called One Direction, they got known of getting separated when Zayn left the group. Most of their fans felt unease of the band getting separated. And from what I know, these great singers can entertain us for a long period of time, but of course they can’t or even won’t stay for long, it really depends on their feelings creating these songs. Even Justin Bieber once got rumors of discontinuing his career when he got puberty, media told that it’ll affect his high pitch voice when singing. Just from that, bad rumors got spread. But do I still hope for future songs to be released from the remaining singers and groups.
Justin bieber baby song was an international hit when it was released and to top it all, it charted at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaked at number three on the Canadian Hot 100and reached the top ten in several international markets(source: Wikipedia), but this song has the most dislike video in Youtube. His voice is enough to make this song an abomination. It sounds like a dying, choking there are so many more reasons why people don’t like this song, because this song have terrible lyrics, tormenting tone/beats and disgusting rap. Everything in this song is outright disgraceful, and for that it's the single worst song in human history. And that is why it's terribly disliked video on YouTube. The same goes to Friday - Rebecca black song, I do not hate the song, nor find it so annoying as some, but of course as a song it is incredibly bad.
This list is quite interesting to me as it features a combination of the hits and misses of music releases during the years 2009 until 2012, and quite frankly some of it could be the most terrible pieces of music to surface up to the mainstream level. The song in question is "Friday" and it was known to be unbelievably terrible, I'd say that even its music video could be no further than the song itself. Meanwhile, the song "Baby" some what had people split on opinions. It became a part of discussions rather frequently that it might have actually been the start of Justin Bieber's fan base. One thing I am sure about is this is definitely going to be a part of some nostalgia playlist that someones going to cook up 20-30 years down the line. I think its hard, if not impossible, to find someone my age who hasn't heard of all or at least one of these songs.
Seeing this blog post brings back so many memories. The songs mentioned above used to be my clique’s jam back in junior high school. These songs were so popular during those days because so many people love them and hate them at the same time. Let’s take the song Baby by Justin Bieber for example. One of the most disliked videos on YouTube yet if that song were played many people would enjoy it and sing along to the song. Another example is Friday by Rebecca Black. I remember this song was the internet sensation back in 2011 because everyone was making a meme out of this song. The lyric of the song and the music video itself is really bad and this is what makes the song and the music video so famous. Nevertheless, just like how our parents have their legendary songs, I believe these songs will be the legendary ones for my generation.
I think these five songs consisting of Rebecca Black’s “Friday”, Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The U.S.A”, Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful”, and Justin Bieber’s “Baby” are a huge influence in Millennials’ life. Most of us must’ve known any of these songs. Truthfully, I don’t really know the song “Friday”, but the rest are songs that I used to listen when I was younger. These songs are mostly the one that made the singer famous. Justin Bieber got lots of attention after the music video of “Baby” blew up. One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” is their debut song after being formed as a group from the show “X-factor”. “Party In The U.S.A” is also a huge bop sang by Miley Cyrus. Even though she was already famous because of her role as Hannah Montana, she is also known as a singer through this song.

When I clicked on this article and saw What Makes You Beautiful, I immediately thought about the days when I was such a huge fan of One Direction. I started listening to their songs around late 2011, after What Makes You Beautiful was released on Youtube. And I immediately ‘fell in love’, pretty much. I was a fan until around 2017, after that I just sort of grew up from that phase. I used to listen to each and every one of their songs, had all their albums, own posters and cardboard cutouts, went to their concert, and followed a lot of their update accounts on social medias. I was a really, really big fan. But then Zayn left the group, the night of the concert in Jakarta. He also didn’t come to that concert due to some factors. When it was officially announced days before the concert, I refused to believe it. I know it’s stupid but unconsciously I was sure that he’s gonna show up to that concert, I even laughed to myself when people said “Do you know Zayn’s not going to come?”. Maybe it’s because I really wanted him to be there, he was my favourite member. But then he didn’t show up, obviously, and instead of being happy after watching a concert I was crying. And then the management announced his departure and I cried some more. That’s kind of how I started to stop being a fan. And a year later One Direction announced that they’re taking a break. Now, I don’t really listen to the other member’s individual songs except for Zayn. He’s still my favourite singer. Even though I’m not a big fan anymore, I will never forget any of their songs, especially What Makes You Beautiful. And I know that they will be one of the most legendary boy band in the future.
Besides the fact that all of those singers listed above are “white” as I’ve mentioned before back in the class last Friday, the fact that all of those songs are the most disliked videos of all available videos in YouTube. To be honest, I’m not a type of person that listens to that type of music. But then, I would like to put my focus in this piece of writing on Rebecca Black’s “Friday”. The auto-tune which’s far from the word “perfect”, even Soundcloud’s proud rappers do better than hers. I’ve never listened to it beforehand up until it’s brought by Mr Adrian to his class back on Friday, both the MV and the song are miraculously bad I should say. I know that I might considered as overexaggerating it, but ever-since I was introduced into the rap culture by my friend, I’ve never found any rappers with that quality of auto-tune. I personally don’t like the beat either tho. As soon as I listened to it, no wonder why it got so many dislikes in YouTube and has become a meme back then.
From the list of songs number ten above, I would like to give a comment on song number one which is “Friday”. The song was sang by Rebecca Black, who was actually made famous by the song, a teenager of Anaheim, California, United States. She released the single on 2011 and attracted the world’s attention by it. The song was published to the video sharing platform, Youtube, in September 16th, 2011. Now, the video has been seen 126.708.390 times with 892.000 thumbs up and 3.300.000 thumbs down. The song was said to be the most disliked video on Youtube. At first, I did not really have any problem hearing the music as it is actually pretty catchy. After that, I began to wonder why most people who watched the music video hated it. It was because the song’s lyrics. I think the song does not have the most meaningful lyrics whatsoever.
These are the songs that I listened to thorough out my teenage years. Except for the first song, “Friday” by Rebecca Black. I never listened to her songs and never have any interest in her. But I know that a lot of people used to listen to her songs. The other 4 songs are the one that I always listened to a million times and I never actually felt bored hearing it. I think the main reason why people liked those songs is because it’s catchy and gave you that good feeling about yourself. However, I read somewhere that even though those songs are very popular back then, it is also the most disliked music video on YouTube. Well, actually, in my opinion, something that is very famous and popular will also have a lot of haters and dislikes. I don’t exactly get why people disliked those songs, but I get that people have different taste in music. But overall, those are my favorite songs and still is until now, except for “Friday”.
Those five songs were my favorite songs back in high school. I remember the song ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber was one of the song I would repeat for thousand times without getting bored of it. It was the time where me and friends were crazy about everything related to Justin Bieber. I bought a lot of Justin’s face stickers and put them on my books and stick some big posters of him in my room, I also bought his books. I have 2. But the truth is, I wasn’t into Justin Bieber that much, I guess I was affected by some of my friends that were so obsessed with Justin Bieber. Well, that was my alay era. It was pretty awesome, having friends that had such a same idol, we were just like talked about JB nonstop and getting excited every time we hear his songs played on TV. I feel like I need to say that I prefer listen to JB’s old songs where he had this pre-puberty voice.
“Friday” by Rebecca Black, I know that song. It was the most hated music video in Youtube and I do not know why. It was Rebecca Black’s debut single. If I am not mistaken, Rebecca Black has become a youtuber now. Based on Wikipedia, this song has received almost universally negative reviews from music critics, for its songwriting, instrumentation, Black's singing voice, and the video choreography. Lyndsey Parker of Yahoo! Music asked if it could be "the worst song ever”. The concept for the music video is based on the lyrics and presented as a typical Friday for Black. She wakes up and goes to school, meeting her friends on the way. In the evening, after debating whether to sit in the front or back of a convertible, Black and her friends ride the car to a party. To be honest, I do not get why it got so many views and hate, but I don’t care anyway.
I like this song, “Party In The U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus, I think this song is quite famous because many Hollywood movies use this song in it. Based on my research from Wikipedia, in the United States, the song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was the seventh best-selling digital single of 2009 in the United States. It was certified seven times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and quadruple platinum by Music Canada. As of July 2017, the song has sold 6 million copies in the United States. That explains why I always hear this song almost everywhere. I also just found out that Jessie J was the one who wrote this song. In an interview with Glamour UK, Jessie J revealed that the royalties she received for writing Miley Cyrus enormous hit "Party In The U.S.A." paid her rent for three years. Jessie co-wrote the track -- with the veterans Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly
I like this song so much, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift. I often hear this song when I was in Junior High School I guess. Taylor Swift was really famous back then. Well, actually she is still famous right now. Based on Wikipedia, this song was an instant commercial success, becoming Swift's first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. A CD single was released in September 2012 by Swift's official store, Amazon.com and US Walmart stores. The single has been certified Quintuple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), while also being certified platinum or more in Australia, the United Kingdom, Sweden, New Zealand, Japan and Denmark. The song is one of the best-selling singles worldwide, with worldwide sales reaching 7 million copies to date (according to the IFPI). In Youtube, it has received over 540 million views.
Finally, some songs I actually know. Oh right, this article may already be posted a long time ago but the interest that got me to comment on music topics only came just now. These songs really hit me with their waves of nostalgia. I remember hearing Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together every morning in the radio on my way to middle school. It was played on loop, and as it was played very repetitively, I came to hate this song. But when 1989 album came out, I listened to the album a lot. It is a very good album. My favorite ones are Out of the Woods, Style, and Wildest Dreams. They were “bop” songs until the music videos came out and people around me sang that song every day. I also liked One Direction just because I wanted to know more about Western boy bands, but apparently I was (and am) not into their songs.
It has been eight years since Justin uploading Baby’s music video on Youtube. I cannot believe how fast the time flies. When I was ten years old, I remember seeing his music video on Television and the advertisement on TV always told the viewers to put this song as a ringtone by sending SMS with format: Type “Justin” and “BABY” and send it to four digits numbers. Sadly, I wasn’t brave enough to do that because it costs Rp2000 of my mother’s phone pulse. I was afraid my mother would be angry with me if she found out I actually send a text to that four digit numbers and run out the pulse of my mother’s phone. The other songs of Justin Bieber I liked are One Time, Never Say Never, and One Less Lonely Girl. But I did not (and do not) really listen to his songs. My friends liked him a lot and said he was handsome, but I didn’t think the same way as them.
It's pretty funny to found out that one of the most famous songs in 20th centuries is definitely sing by teenagers. All of those 4 songs are songs that are giving a millennial vibes. I believe that a lot of millennial know the songs or even like the songs. From the 4 songs above, I know three of them but I don't quite familiar with "Friday" by Rebecca Black. I love "Party In The U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus because it giving a very teenager vibes. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift is having a nice beat. "What Makes You Beautiful" is the song that makes One Direction becoming very famous and a well-known boy bands among teenagers. In my opinion, the last song which is "Baby" that sung by Justin Bieber is the most popular songs among four of them. This song is very famous since the one who sing it is Justin Bieber. At that time, beside that he is good looking, Justin Bieber is also well known because he is the first singer that becoming famous because of YouTube.
Back in the days, these songs posted by Mr, Adrian were viral. They are all viral because of their own uniqueness. For example Rebecca Black’s “Friday” song. During the time where the song was first launched, the song straightly went viral because of many critics from people. Social media users considered this song as “The worst song ever created”. It received much hatred because of two main points; firstly is because the singer can't sing properly and people responded by saying she is not worthy to be called as a singer, secondly is because the lyrics don't even make sense. Another example can be taken from One Direction "What makes you beautiful". During that time, One Direction was a boy band made up of X-factor UK's finalist. They were formed at the beginning of the show. They auditioned by themselves, however, when they pass the audition stage, Simon Cowell and his colleagues decided to form a boy band for them. In the end, the formation of One Direction during X factor is a milestone for Liam, Niall, Zayn, Harry, Louis career as singers. Their boy band became famous because of their story and their appearances.
I see that you chose some of the most disliked music video in YouTube history. According to Wikipedia, Friday by Rebecca Black is the 6th most disliked video, yielding 3.34 million dislikes and a 78.92% dislike percentage. Baby by Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris is the 1st most disliked video with 9.59 million dislikes and 48.7% dislike percentage. What Makes You Beautiful, Party in the USA, and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together didn’t make the list, but they also count as some of the most hated music in pop culture. My hypothesis of them being some of the most hated music is because of overplaying the song and it becomes annoying. For example, Baby by Justin Bieber is so overplayed and everywhere we go that song is playing, even millions of people used that song as a ringtone. Also, most of Justin Bieber’s fans are annoying too and maybe that gave a contribution to people hating Justin Bieber.
I knew the information of the most disliked videos since years ago. The 5 songs above was actually pretty famous in their times. Sadly, it was not a ‘positive’ popularity, but instead a ‘negative’ popularity. From the 5 singers above consisting Rebecca Black, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, One Direction and Justin Bieber, I feel that the only video I really do dislike is Friday by Rebecca Black. To be honest, it was awful. I believe It gained popularity just because it has catchy beats. I used to like Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus & We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift. I was actually surprised when both songs were on the list of the most disliked videos. Until now, I believe that it was not disliked because of the quality but because of both singers have many haters. Baby by Justin Bieber and What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction were songs I avoid a lot during my Junior High School times. I used to think that they were weird and looked so ‘gay’. But then time goes by, I pretty much enjoyed their music.
After looking at these videos posted by Mr. Adrian, all of them brings me back to the old days. These videos were popular during their time. If we look at Justin Bieber's "Baby" video on youtube, it got around 9.5 million dislikes. There is no solid reason on why he got that many dislikes, knowing that during my elementary years, Justin Bieber was like a "god" to girls. Other than bringing back memories about the songs itself, this blog post made me reminisce my good old days. The songs above were a popular topic to be discussed back then. I would go to the cafeteria, join my friends, then we would talk about how bad is "Friday", or if my friend has just broken up with his girl, we would recommend "We are never ever getting back together". Out of the 5 songs posted above, I prefer One Direction's "What makes you beautiful" because I am a fan of One Direction since the beginning of their singing career.
The song "Baby" by Justin Bieber has been the subject of controversy by millions of people around the world. It was the song that really established Justin Bieber as a successful singer, yet it spurred up a lot of hate. I remember the first time I heard the song. To be frank, I was very fond of Bieber's music when I was in grade school. His voice was admittedly good and the songs were actually decent. Looking back, I don't regret being a fan, although just for a little while. "Baby"'s music video gained enormous amounts of recognition and was once the most known song in the world. In my opinion, the song gained its reputation not by the sheer amount of fans it amassed, yet it is also the fact that the music video displayed a cringey array of scenes that made the world hate it. In my opinion, at this day and age, the song itself is objectively bad; maybe the change in my music taste is the reason I hate it so much, but I can't really say. Nevertheless, the song is etched in eternity as a song that places itself both in the hall of fame and infamy; and the present day Justin Bieber couldn't care less.
Not gonna lie, I was once a hardcore directioner fan. I was never a big fan of boybands but there's just something about One Direction that attracts me. At first I can't even tell the difference between Liam and Louis but now I can tell which one's which by just looking at their legs. As for Bieber and Taylor Swift, I enjoy both of their musics since their music genre fits in very well with the millenials' taste in music but I've never become a belieber or a swifties at all. With Miley Cyrus, I love her back in the Hannah Montana days up until she got engaged with Liam Hemsworth, but of course with her breakdown with the Wrecking Ball song I kinda stop listening to her despite being on the top of the chart's music list. But now that she's back with Liam I do get to enjoy most of her songs especially the one that's called Malibu. Now I don't really have that much to say about Rebecca Black since I never do really enjoy her music but I do wish her the best of luck.
This song is one of the hallmarks of modern day pop culture. It rediscovered and established a new era of boybands that was once loved and forgotten. It made millions of girls worldwide go crazy and put a new meaning into the word 'fanatic'. It is, of course, the song "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction. Unlike the other songs, this song specifically made girls worldwide fall in love with the boyband. One Direction was founded by Simon Cowell and his selection of five pretty boys that rocked the stage. The song is admittedly good for its time, and the boys were and still are fairly good looking. That was enough to launch the idea of boybands into the brains of society again. To talk more about the song, I think it reaches so much people because it talks about girls that think they are not that good looking and the journey of making those girls love themselves for who they really are. It might sound like a shallow pop song, yet it touched the hearts of many girls that just wanted a 'Prince Charming'. The boyband affected them so much that it made headlines when Zayn left the group and girls started to commit suicide. This song and boyband created a whole new dynamic to the music scene; a new dynamic that will change the course of music history forever.
Glad to see another list of songs that I know. I used to listen to these songs on the radio everyday whenever my parents take me to school. These songs bring back lots of memories. Back then, when I was still in primary school, I used to think that the singer of “Baby” was a girl before I know who Justin Bieber was. It surprises me a bit when my sister told me that it was a boy named Justin Bieber. The song is very catchy and stuck easily in my head. When I see these songs, I couldn’t believe that it was so many years ago and now I am in university. “what makes you beautiful” by one direction was also a song that was very famous and almost every people that I see sings it. It was a good song as it has a very nice rhythm for me to listen.
5 Songs: Friday, Party in the USA, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, What Makes You Beautiful and Baby are all very famous songs among the people of my generation. I genuinely laughed a bit when I saw this post as I reminiscence that a 12 year old me would actually sing along to these songs. Among the 5 songs, my least favorite would be “Friday” by Rebecca Black. I remember that when the song became internet phenomenon, so much hatred are pointed to Rebecca Black. I have to admit that the song was really irrelevant and her vocals cannot seem to make the song any better. Party in the USA, sung by post Hannah-Montana Miley Cyrus is actually not that bad. The song reminded me of when I used to watch Hannah Montana. All five songs made the artist really popular. Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and One Direction became more relevant after the release of the songs mentioned above. They managed to have worldwide fanbase and received a lot of awards.
One of the reason on why these videos are the most hated videos on YouTube is because these videos are also the most watched videos on YouTube. If I have to list these videos based on my personal preference ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ by One Direction has to be my number one. Even though the group is having a hiatus or a ‘break’, I was a big fan of the boys like any other 12 years old back then. I listened to all of their songs, know every lyrics to every songs, and of course I was listening to One Direction songs as I’m writing this comment. Second on my list has got to be Taylor Swift’s ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together’. Just like every other teenager I also listen to those ‘mainstream’ pop songs especially Taylor Swift’s songs. Meanwhile, ‘Part in the USA’ by Miley Cyrus has got to be an all-time favourite. I can definitely listen to her songs anytime without getting bored and the song itself has a pretty catchy feel to it. ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber and ‘Friday’ by Rebecca Black might be my least favourite songs on the list. ‘Baby” was actually a massive hit back in 2011 and it was JB’s first debut that make him who he is today. And as for Rebecca Black, she actually started out as a youtuber so I don’t think this song has that ‘vibe’ that could attract the listeners’ attention.
Before this article is posted on this blog, I have seen this list of songs before: on a youtube video. I would say that of all the five most hated songs, Friday by Rebecca Black is the worst. Other songs of the list is still tolerable to my ear, and I would say that it is rather pleasant to my ear. A theory that comes to my mind on how these five songs can be nominated as the most hated song is they are some of the most catchy songs. They simple and easy to remember melody cause them to be extremely popular. Yet, if you loop these ingenious melody on the media on daily bases; people will get annoyed, creating mass irritation. And when plenty of people become victims of these earworm, mass hatred spread through out the globe. In conclusion, these most hatred hits are some of the most catchy songs, yet as they say too much of good things is bad things.
One direction was famous british-boyband known by teenage girls. I used to put a poster of them on my bedroom's wall before i had it repaint. The group consisted of Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik. To be honest my favorite was used to be either Niall horan or Harry styles. One Direction's debut single, 'What Makes You Beautiful', reached number one on the UK Singles Chart, after becoming the most pre-ordered Sony Music Entertainment single in history and became a huge success that makes everyone recognize them on media. This song is about a boy trying to boost his partners' self-esteem by proclaiming his love to them. My favorite line from the song is: 'If only you saw what I can see, You'll understand why I want you so desperately, Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe, You don't know, you don't know you're beautiful, That's what makes you beautiful'
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is a song recorded by the famous Taylor Swift for her fourth studio album called Red. The song was an instant success, becoming Taylor Swift's first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. Its achievement includes Grammy Award nomination for Record of the Year also People's Choice Awards nomination for Favorite Song of the Year. The song was written by Swift, along with Max Martin and Shellback. Taylor Swift has played fun games with her fans in leaving clues and hints, both ambiguous and blunt, about the men she broke up with. I believe that the song was inspired by her failed relationship with Gyllenhaal who was clearly the source of an intense heartbreak. My favorite line of the song is: "Baby, I miss you and I swear I'm gonna change, trust me, Remember how that lasted for a day? I say, I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you"
After the long wait, finally all the songs uploaded by Adrian in this one unique post are all from the year 2000 and after. Rebecca Black, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, Taylor Swift, and Justin Bieber are all well-known musician and almost impossible to find someone who doesn’t know them. But, as Adrian said, the reason why these particular songs have been uploaded is because they have one similarity and that is the number of dislikes of the youtube video exceeded the number of likes. I remember when I was in junior high school, the song ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber was always been mocked up as one cringe song. Honestly, I am not an expert in music so I can’t actually give comments about the songs from the musical aspects or perspectives. Nevertheless, I think these songs have ‘expired’ and the artists who made these songs have released their new creation.
Skimming through the article, there’s only one reaction on my face: cringe. Apart from Miley Cyrus’s song “Party in USA”, everything sounds cringe, perhaps it may be because I overplayed those songs back when I was in elementary school. Don’t get me wrong, I loved these songs back then, but looking back at it, I question myself why I used to listen to these. To be honest, I don’t mind listening to them when I’m with my group of friends, reminiscing, and if we’re looking for some jokes and laughs. Perhaps the reason why we cringe at them is probably because for instance, Justin Bieber’s songs are squeaky, most likely due to the fact that he hit puberty at an extremely late age. One Direction is cringe because, well, it’s hard to say this without using any offensive language but let’s just say they’re a group of unmanly people – just because a bunch of dudes are talking about lovey-dovey stuff. As for Rebecca Black, this doesn’t even need any explanation, her voice is just plain awful and hideous, no autotune in this world could make her sound melodious.
Out of the four songs in this article, there is one song that is probably everyone knows. It is ‘What Makes You Beautiful’. The song was made popular by one English-Irish boy band, One Direction, back in 2011. I don’t actually listen to their songs, but this song keeps playing inside my head over and over again since everyone is singing it all day long back then. Speaking of One Direction, this song was released when their most good looking member, Zayn Malik, was still a part of the group along with the other members, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Niall Horan. I think this song is actually good. It basically tells all the girls that there is no point of being insecure about their looks. Everyone is unique and has their own speciality and uniqueness, so basically it all depends on yourself, on how you express the beauty inside of you.
These songs brings me back so many memories, they’re pop classics that I think every millennial knows and remembers every lyric of them all. It doesn’t matter whether you hate them or love them, you will always find yourself singing along to the lyrics. That’s how viral and how much it was played everywhere. Then again, it might also be due to how easy the lyrics are to remember. Another thing these songs have in common is just how excessively the singers repeat certain phrases throughout the whole song. They all have that similar catchy tune that sticks in your head immediately after you listen, but it’s the lyrics that makes the song so addicting. Sure it’s general characteristic of pop songs to repeat their lyrics over and over, but these songs take them to another level. In Justin’s debut song, he says the word ‘baby’ over fifty-six times, which is no wonder why some people found it so annoying. I think that’s one of the reason why these list of songs are so hated; because of how annoyingly catchy and repetitive they are.
The first song, “Friday” by Rebecca Black was most hated video on Youtube back then. I’m really interested and curious because of that fact. That is why I do more research about this song. Based on BBC, “Friday” was dubbed "the world's worst song" by critics, and quickly became one of the site's most disliked videos, attracting thousands of comments from internet trolls. The singer, Rebecca Black said it hasn't been easy to shake off the abuse. Rebecca's video racked up millions of views but the reception was mainly negative with hundreds of thousands of abusive comments - including a death threat which police investigated. Rebecca said it was only after processing the abuse that she felt able to resume her career. Based on Wikipedia, the original video was removed from YouTube on June 16, 2011, due to legal disputes between ARK Music and Black herself. By then, it had already amassed more than 166 million views. The video was uploaded to YouTube again on September 16, 2011. Since the growth in popularity of the song and video, there have been numerous parody videos and remixes. Forbes stated that the notoriety of the song is another sign of the power of social media—specifically Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr, in this instance—in the ability to create "overnight sensations."
“What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction and “Baby” by Justin Bieber was both marked as the start of their popularity. I remember when the Internet was shocked by the release of both of these songs. Everyone started to sing along to it, TV channels and radio station also started to play the songs as well. Almost immediately both of these songs became everyone’s favorites. Now, “Baby” by Justin Bieber has two billions views in YouTube, and One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” has one billion views. In addition, the awards received by these two songs was massive, Justin Bieber’s “Baby” was awarded for Top Streaming Song (Video) by Billboard Music Award, and “What Makes You Beautiful” received Brit Award for British Single. One Direction and Justin Bieber both received MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and both singles was also awarded as Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Song.
To me the same similarities that these five songs have is that they all are guilty pleasures. Sure, they can be downright utterly cringe-causing at time, (especially Rebecca Black’s Friday) because their simple pop tunes may feel a little “dumb-downed” for some music taste, but they all have catchy hooks and attractive singers; don’t forget the fun video clips. All those things that I stated made it really hard no to sing along when these songs come out on the radio.
And don’t take my word for it, except for Miley Cyrus who already had a comedy show, these songs are the breakout hits for their respective artist, their videos garnered millions and millions of views from all over the world, even Justin Bieber’s baby reached 2 Billion views. These millions of fans cause their careers into household name, still holding a lot of relevancy to this day. I was also a hater once, but once I see their hard work and success, I started to appreciate these artists very much
This has been the first article about song that talks about the song of my generation. The songs that are shown above are the songs that made the biggest hits. This songs were published around 5-6 years ago where i was still in Junior High School. These songs can be categorized as easy listening music where the lyrics are easy to memorize and it is very catchy. This made it more easier for listeners which are targeted especially to the youth to accept the songs. The four songs that are shown above are also one of the first songs that are release from the artist and they have successfully get loads of listeners and eventually become as followers by choosing the genre of easy listening. Eventhough from the songs that are shown above there is a certain song that has a negative reaction from the listeners. It is said to be annoying and not nice to hear.
The song that i said to be having a negative reaction from the listeners is the Rebecca Black-Friday. This songs has many deficiency that made the market show a negative reaction and resulting the song fail in many certain ways. The song Friday has many deficiency from many different aspects. The first problem that is actually the biggest problem is the lack quality of singing from the artist which is Rebecca Black. The market said that the voice of the artist shows an annoying voice and resulting to an earache. This is a major stepback to the career of Rebecca Black as a singer, but through the fame that she has gotten from this problem she is now a quite famous youtuber. The second problem of the song that the quality of the lyrics is very low. It has no actual meaning that is even useful for anything. The songs just talks about the expression of having fun in Friday and also the same lyrics are being repeated for lots of time.
The song Baby-Justin Bieber was a major hit in the past day. It was i think the first song that was published by Justin and it receive a positive feedback from the market. The song Baby is the first step of Justin Bieber's career to a bigger career in ahead. This song was actually the first song that introduce me to American pop songs because back in the days the only songs that i knew was Indonesian pop songs and this song made me to listen more to American Pop songs. I have never liked Justin Bieber as the fans way, i just like his songs and even memorize most of his songs because its easy to listen and catchy. The fans of Justin Bieber are called "Belieber" and most of the member are girls. They are very fanatic when it comes to the life of Justin Bieber. In the present days, Justin Bieber is not a major hit again but he still produce songs but not in a constant time. In the present days the American song culture has turn to Hip Hop.
From the songs above, I know 3 out of 4 songs. The songs that I didn’t realise is “ Friday” by Rebecca Black. I assume those songs are the hits song that everybody knows and these songs are about love stuff that was related to the audience. Baby by Justin Bieber, Released in 2010 and became the first video on youtube that reached 1 billion views. Everybody sang that song back in 2010 because the lyric is related for teenagers at that time. “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction, the song that made this British boy band famous. People love “what makes you beautiful” because it was their first song and that song was sung by handsome members of the boyband. “we are never ever getting back together” by Taylor Swift, this is my favourite song from the list. I love this song because back then it was related to my feelings when I broke up. I can tell these four songs are totally a hit because it is easy to remember.
ReplyDeleteThese songs provide an extraordinary sensation of nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteI think one of the reasons why these five songs are the most hated videos on Youtube is because they are some of the most popular videos or songs on Youtube.
ReplyDeleteOkay, another Four Songs article that I can comment.
ReplyDeleteAnother Four Songs article that involves songs that I actually know or listen to.
ReplyDeleteHere we go, songs that were booming in our generation’s times of puberty.
ReplyDeleteThose 5 songs were pop songs that were very popular a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of any of the songs posted, but it does not mean that I hate popular things just for me to look edgy.
ReplyDeleteAll of the songs above were my favorite when they first released it.
ReplyDelete“Oh my God, finally”, that’s the only sentence that came out from my mouth after seeing this post.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing to songs; all of this are in my childhood lists of songs that I have heard.
ReplyDeleteJustin bieber baby song was an international hit when it was released and to top it all, it charted at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaked at number three on the Canadian Hot 100and reached the top ten in several international markets(source: Wikipedia), but this song has the most dislike video in Youtube.
ReplyDeleteThis list is quite interesting to me as it features a combination of the hits and misses of music releases during the years 2009 until 2012, and quite frankly some of it could be the most terrible pieces of music to surface up to the mainstream level.
ReplyDeleteSeeing this blog post brings back so many memories.
ReplyDeleteI think these five songs consisting of Rebecca Black’s “Friday”, Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The U.S.A”, Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful”, and Justin Bieber’s “Baby” are a huge influence in Millennials’ life.

ReplyDeleteWhen I clicked on this article and saw What Makes You Beautiful, I immediately thought about the days when I was such a huge fan of One Direction.
ReplyDeleteBut then Zayn left the group, the night of the concert in Jakarta.
ReplyDeleteFrom the list of songs number ten above, I would like to give a comment on song number one which is “Friday”.
ReplyDeleteThese are the songs that I listened to thorough out my teenage years.
ReplyDeleteThose five songs were my favorite songs back in high school.
ReplyDelete“Friday” by Rebecca Black, I know that song.
ReplyDeleteI like this song, “Party In The U.S.A.” by Miley Cyrus, I think this song is quite famous because many Hollywood movies use this song in it.
ReplyDeleteI like this song so much, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift.
ReplyDeleteFinally, some songs I actually know.
ReplyDeleteIt has been eight years since Justin uploading Baby’s music video on Youtube.

ReplyDeleteIt's pretty funny to found out that one of the most famous songs in 20th centuries is definitely sing by teenagers.
ReplyDeleteI see that you chose some of the most disliked music video in YouTube history.
ReplyDeleteI knew the information of the most disliked videos since years ago.
ReplyDeleteAfter looking at these videos posted by Mr.
ReplyDeleteThe song "Baby" by Justin Bieber has been the subject of controversy by millions of people around the world.
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, I was once a hardcore directioner fan.
ReplyDeleteThis song is one of the hallmarks of modern day pop culture.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see another list of songs that I know.
ReplyDelete5 Songs: Friday, Party in the USA, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, What Makes You Beautiful and Baby are all very famous songs among the people of my generation.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reason on why these videos are the most hated videos on YouTube is because these videos are also the most watched videos on YouTube.
ReplyDeleteBefore this article is posted on this blog, I have seen this list of songs before: on a youtube video.

ReplyDeleteOne direction was famous british-boyband known by teenage girls.
I say, I hate you, we break up, you call me, I love you"
ReplyDeleteAfter the long wait, finally all the songs uploaded by Adrian in this one unique post are all from the year 2000 and after.
ReplyDeleteSkimming through the article, there’s only one reaction on my face: cringe.
ReplyDeleteOut of the four songs in this article, there is one song that is probably everyone knows.
ReplyDeleteThese songs brings me back so many memories, they’re pop classics that I think every millennial knows and remembers every lyric of them all.
ReplyDeleteThe first song, “Friday” by Rebecca Black was most hated video on Youtube back then.
ReplyDelete“What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction and “Baby” by Justin Bieber was both marked as the start of their popularity.
ReplyDeleteTo me the same similarities that these five songs have is that they all are guilty pleasures.
ReplyDeleteAnd don’t take my word for it, except for Miley Cyrus who already had a comedy show, these songs are the breakout hits for their respective artist, their videos garnered millions and millions of views from all over the world, even Justin Bieber’s baby reached 2 Billion views.
ReplyDeleteThe song that i said to be having a negative reaction from the listeners is the Rebecca Black-Friday.
DeleteThe song Baby-Justin Bieber was a major hit in the past day.
DeleteFrom the songs above, I know 3 out of 4 songs.
