My all time favourite foreign television series is The Game of Thrones which of course is pretty much main stream. The unexpected plot twists and the world lore is the things that intrigues me the most. It is kind of gruesome for some people; and I must say that it is certainly not for everyone, yet there is a mysterious force which attracts me into this really grim story line of it. The plot twist is crazy though the leading character which every one thought to be the hero died at the end of season one. The incesstrous scandal that occurs around the characters is really bring a controversial attraction to the serious. George RR Martin the writer of the series of novel which essentially sets game of thrones on its track is also massively involved in the development of the series. At the end of the day beneath its controversies and mature contents Game of Thrones has a very interesting story line.
One of my favorite foreign television series is The Stranger Things. I think if I’m not mistaken this T.V series genre is a mixed between science fiction, supernatural and a little bit of horror. I like this T.V show because it has that old school theme (like the setting took place in the 1980s, If I’m not wrong) and how it’s a science fiction, which I think is a great combination because it matches with what people in the U.S were concern back then (the issue with aliens and other superstitious matters). I also like the plot of this T.V shows where it tells the story of these 4 kids, specifically nerds, who lives in a town named Hawkins. In the town, there is this laboratory called Hawkins National Laboratory in which the boys thought that they were experimenting on something strange or supernatural since ever since it was established strange things began to appear and happen, like how one of four boys were missing. The rest of story I let you figured that out by yourself since I don’t want to spoil the plot. I would recommend this T.V show "The Stranger Things" because I think it has a great plot and it has many suspense as well as "cliffhangers".
I think that the best foreign television series of all time is American Horror Story. Personally, my favorite season of the whole American Horror Story seasons is the American Horror Story: Asylum, which is the second season. The reason why I think American Horror Story is the best television series is mainly because of the unpredictable plot and ending. The other reason why I think American Horror Story is the best television series is because of the fact that in every episode there are always a strong women but they are not perfect. For example, Sister Jude in American Horror Story: Asylum was a mean, vengeful, and a manipulative alcoholic. In American Horror Story: Asylum, she fought men who tried to get rid of her just because she was a woman. The other example is in the newest season, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, there are witches who are bomb ass women that all have some type of flaw but they still protect themselves and others around them from evil. The thing I love most about American Horror Story is that it will never bore me because every season is a different theme. I definitely would recommend this television series to anyone who likes a psychological scary movie that is also thrilling and filled with drama.
Like everything we have in life, I don’t have one favorite above others; especially when it comes to TV shows. I mainly watch Legends of Tomorrow because I’m a big superhero nerd, but there are other things I consider favorites; one is The Big Bang Theory. I like it because it makes continues jokes about sci-fi, and has a lot of pop culture references. It’s quite successful, having stared numerous iconic celebrities in some of its episodes. Guest appearances include, but are not limited to: Will Wheaton, LeVar Burton, Stan Lee, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, Bob Newhart, Stephen Hawking, James Earl Jones, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamil, Elon Musk, and Adam West. It’s a shame that it’s approaching its final season. When I was younger, I used to watch Mythbusters. It’s a reality show that aired in Discovery until its final season in March 2016. I liked it because it breaks down common misconceptions and myths with its own experiments.
I have watched so many TV series, and I have tons of favourites. One of my favourites would be Gossip Girl. It’s a teen drama TV series with 6 seasons, starting from 2007 to 2012. I have watched this series twice. It is based on a book written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Gossip Girl is basically about the lives of Manhattan’s hyper-privileged, upper-class, private-school kids, with their drama which they always seem to get away with. Until an anonymous blogger, ‘Gossip Girl’ shows up and secrets starts to unravel. The main characters in this show are Serena Van der Woodsen: the ‘It Girl”; Blair Waldorf: the ‘Queen Bee’; Chuck Bass: the bad boy; Nate Archibald: the golden boy; and Dan Humphrey: the lonely boy. With other characters such as their families, friends, and enemies, this series revolves around the Upper East Side’s main people and how trouble always seems to follow with ‘Gossip Girl’ around.
My other favourite, more on the comedy side, would be Friends. I just finished this sitcom a few days ago, and I pretty much feel like I got nothing else to watch and it’s sad. With 10 seasons starting from 1994 to 2004, Friends has a very entertaining storyline and jokes. It has become one of the most popular TV shows of all time. I honestly have not find an old sitcom that is as funny and addicting as Friends. The story revolves around six friends in their 20s and 30s living in Manhattan (funny how two of my favourite shows has the story located in Manhattan), with their comedic love stories and career issues, as well as friendship. The group goes through an amount of family troubles, past friends and romances, the future, and so many other surprises while learning what it’s like to have real friends. And everything is wrapped in funny and laughable episodes.
I also really loved watching The Vampire Diaries, which is a fantasy drama series. It’s also based on a book with the same title, just like Gossip Girl. The story is about vampires, just like the title states. It’s set in a fictional town called Mystic Falls, and follows the life of a teenage girl Elena Gilbert. She’s played by Nina Dobrev. Then, she met a 162 year old vampire, Stefan Salvatore; played by Paul Wesley. The plot thickens when Stefan’s older brother showed up, Damon Salvatore played by Ian Somerhalder. He was originally the villain of the story, but throughout the seasons he made peace with Stefan and fell in love with Elena. This story is filled with supernatural characters other than vampires, such as werewolves, witches, hybrids (werewolf and vampire), ghosts, doppelgängers, etc. Though the romance in this story is sometimes very cliche, I really like the plot and this series never failed to keep my eyes glued on the TV.
Watching foreign TV series is not a thing that i do in the present days. Watching foreign TV series is a thing i do when i was small and it was a thing that i do almost of the time. I use to watch the series in Disney Channel and Cartoon Network. The series that I'm talking about are not the cartoon series but the real life series but are more focused to a younger age market. The series that I'm talking are the Suit Life of Zack and Cody, The Wizards of Waverly Place, and ICarly. Those series are the things that made me watch tv more but it doesn't always give negative impact but it turns out to be the other way around. It is funny actually because there was a period of time where the subtitle of my tv was broken and it force me to automatically understand the series without using subtitle but to manage to understand it by myself. It really enhance the level of my English in the level of vocabulary.
In the present days i do not watch any more TV series because my interest towards the TV series in Disney Channel has decrease. It just doesn't fit my brain again watching the things that i use to watch when i was small. It doesn't only fit my brain but most of the series that i use to watch are already gone and it is replace by a more boring series. In these days i more likely to watch movies rather than series because of the quality of movies are better than series. I used to download lots of movies illegally and combine it in on hard disk and eventually watch the whole movies in my leisure time when i was highschool. This situation changed me when the series "13 reasons why" emerge to the people. It was a major hit back in the year of 2016 approximately when i was in the 11th grade. I was curious about the series and i finally watch it and having the mindset that i will just watch one episode and finally get bored of the series and will not continue the series again. It turns out to be the other way around because it was very good and i actually finished the whole season and persuade my friends to watch the series. This made me to look for other netflix series and turning me to a series lover.
I got so many favorite tv show. The last ship tv series is one of my favorite show, the show tell us about the journey of a US warship, destroyer class. This one isn't the best series for anyone else but if you're looking for a movie with a bit of walking dead, a little of JAG and something related with the navy, you have The Last Ship. It also tell us how important the teamwork is and how to deal with multiple life changing choice in such a short time. This show also has impressive scene that makes us thing more which is entertain me better. Actually i picked up this show is because I'm just to tired of those cheesy-love drama things, this one burn all patriotism spirit inside me, if you're looking for some lighter drama and had enough with the stereotypes then this one is definitely worth it
If I got to choose my favourite foreign TV series, I got to choose Game of Thrones. I know that a lot of people like this series and is a pretty mainstream series. But I got to admit it that I always got blown up everytime I watch this series. It is full of plot twists, breath taking scenes, and just full of misteries that always makes me curious. I also love the characters there in Game of Thrones, because every character is very various and unique. Every episodes in Game of Thrones is very special, because they put so much effort and money to it. From what I heard, every episode of Game of Thrones is worth one full film. Can you imagine how much money and effort that put into it then? Yes I can imagine it though. That explains why every episodes looks so magical and just breath taking. Everytime I finished watching one episode, I always want to see more and more.
The other TV series that I like is Riverdale. I watched Riverdale recently because of my sister. At first, I watched this series because I am running out of something to watch. But after I started to watch this series I kinda like it. Because basically, I love series that provides mistery and surprises. Misteries and surprises always excites me because that makes me want to watch more and more. This Riverdale series provide that mistery and surprises. I have not finish watching it, I only have finished season 1 and currently watching season 2. But I gotta admit that season 1 is a good season. Because it tells about high school moments yet the mistery of a murder. I love the high school moments because it reminds me about my high school moments too, and the misterious story adds the series to a new level. One thing that I dont really like about Riverdale is that as the season goes further, it become a little weird and non-sense. But I still like it and watch it, so if you need any series recommendation, in my opinion, Riverdale is a worth one.
always liked detective stories. Maybe my liking of such genres originated from my father who had numerous collection of detective novels and often watches crime-related series on the TVs. As for myself, I don’t actually have any most favorites TV series but I got some which I really enjoyed watching casually; Hawaii Five-O, Bones, The Blacklist, and many more. I liked this kind of genres because it stimulates my mind to think outside the box and always keeps me guessing. It doesn’t matter whether I guess it right or wrong I got the joy from any outcomes anyway. I used to watch all these series back at my hometown Jakarta but now I almost never watch any of these shows at all since I am not really a fan of streaming via smartphone or laptop as I find it more amusing to wait for another day or even another week to watch another episode of a series.
There are actually too many TV shows with different genres that I have watched and I would say I am a big fan of solving crimes kinda shows so I would say my favourite show is Hawaii Five-O. It is actually an old TV series which ran from 1968 to 1980 on CBS, but in 2010, CBS released the remake of Hawaii Five-O. I, personally, have watched both versions, seeing where two versions have some differences, but how in many ways they are consistent with each other. For example, the remake version title sequence includes the re-recorded version of the original 1968 theme music. Most people prefer the original version of Hawaii Five-O but I think the old one is a little bit boring, like the plot and the cast. The cast of the new Hawaii Five-O are much younger than the cast of the original series. For example, the role of Detective Steve McGarrett in the original series was played by Jack Lord, meanwhile now an Australian actor, Alex O’Loughlin, plays the role of Steve McGarrett in the new series.
Not only solving crimes kinda shows, I would say I am a drama freak. I have watched probably every drama series like Riverdale, Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, 13 Reasons Why, and many other drama series. But I would say my favourite one is Devious Maids. It is about five of the sexiest housekeepers’ life stories that is part comedy, part drama, part mistery, which is too exciting to be missed. The story is based on the man behind the success of Desperate Housewives, Marc Cherry. I am completely hooked on both series, Devious Maids and Desperate Housewives. Devious Maids’ concept is actually very similar to Desperate Housewives but it is from the point of view of the maids instead. I think it is well worth a watch if you like drama, because the drama gets more intense and much more interesting episode by episode, and it is completely over the top, dramatic, and unrealistic.
Breaking Bad is the best TV series that I have ever watched. I managed to binge-watch with my dad the entire five seasons of it in just a week; it is just that good. The attention to detail and the realism being brought by the characters were really immense. I am in my late teens and all my life, I have never had a close relationship with my father. He has always been there, he has provided for me but we have always been so distant. We would argue over the smallest things that would damage the rest of the family. I always felt like casual conversations with him were forced but one evening we were both talking about how much positive reviews Breaking Bad has got and we decided to buy the pirated set and give it a try. I can say for a fact that I have never been so close with my father in my life.
We have binged watch the show, start-to-finish and I would wait impatiently as he came home from work to watch the next episode with him. The past month has been amazing and I have gotten to know how much a brilliant person my father really is. This show has gotten me closer to my father than I have ever been before and I just felt I have to share my experience. I now look up to my father and look at him as a role model and it is all thanks to Breaking Bad. Ever since then, we would spend time bonding with each other through watching more and more TV series such as Hawaii-Five-O, Miami Vice, CSI, and Doctor House. I would never think that a TV series would bring such impact to my life.
Thank you, Vince Gilligan. It is the most outstanding piece of television I have ever watched.
It is hard for me to pick my favourite TV series so I'm just gonna talk about TWO shows that have made the best impression on me. The first show I'm gonna talk about is "Narcos" by Netflix, a docudrama about Pablo Escobar and his Colombian drug traffickers in their rise and fall in the 1980s. The show is mainly told through two perspectives; that of Escobar himself, and the perspective of an American DEA agent. What I like the most out of the show is that it succeeds in capturing the atmosphere and vibes of the era as scenes of drug traffickers and Escobar are all told in Spanish, and the show creators were uncompromising in their gritty and real approach towards all the violence, sex, and crime. Right from the first episode of the series, views are immediately sucked into the tension of the show, through the uncensored violence and the iconic "Plata o Plomo" ("Silver or Lead?") speech Escobar delivered in one of the scenes.
Another show I'm gonna talk about will be "The Expanse", a sci-fi series originally shown in SyFy that is known for its excellent writing and "hard" sci-fi elements. The show tells about the universe wherein humans succeeded in developing efficient space travel and colonising most of the solar system, from the barren deserts of Mars all the way to the Jovian moons and the asteroid belt. However, despite the immense scientific advances and discoveries, age-old human habits of politics an conflict are carried over due to rivalry and scarcity, resulting in a cold war between superpowers of the Earth-based United Nations (now taking the form of a sovereign state of unified earthen nations) and the Mars-based Martian Congressional Republic that consists of colonists who broke free from UN hegemony and had succeeded in forming a flourishing and powerful state. What I like the most from the series is how the creators did their best in creating a sci-fi universe that is realistic and makes sense (hence the term "hard" sci-fi). For example, there is no magical artificial gravity constantly tethering the characters' feet to the spaceship's floor, but instead, spaceship floors are arranged laterally to the superstructure (resembling large towers) so that the G-force generated by orbital burns can "pull" people into the floor of the spaceship. Moreover, humans who were born and raised in planets or asteroids with low gravity physically adapt to it, resulting in thinner bones and deformed humans with thin and tall bodies. These two examples are only a snippet of what the show is all about, so many noteworthy things like the gripping politics are too much to be explained here. I really recommend any sci-fi fans to watch The Expanse, or what most fans describe as "Game of Thrones in space".
I have known and seen many different TV series. And I can say that I like the foreign shows better than the local shows. I have many personal favorite TV series in various categories. On the comedy side, I like watching Friends. It is a TV series that airs from 1994 – 2004. It is a story about a group of six people with the age range of 20 to 30 that lives in Manhattan, where each of them has unique backgrounds. This series is filled with many romantic and comedy scenes with many unexpected events. What I like with this series is the story is different in almost all episodes. It makes me just want to continue to the next episode to see new stories. There are 10 seasons in total, where the average episode in one season is 24 episodes with the average of 22 minutes in one episode. This series is starred by Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and many more.
On the other hand, I also like crime-solving and mystery series. I have watched several series in this category, such as Criminal Minds, Major Crimes, Law and Order, and many more. My favorites are NCIS and Law and Order. NCIS is abbreviation of Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which deals with homicide and internal issues inside the U.S Navy. It is currently in the 16th season and still going. This series is starred by Mark Harmon. The other series which is Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU). SVU is a department in NYPD which deals with sexual crimes in the city of New York. This series is currently in the 20th season and still going, starred by Mariska Hargitay. What I like about these series is they have interesting stories where you would want to see until the crime is solved. Also, many smart agents come up with unexpected plans to solve their crime. Those are my favorite crime-solving TV series.
Hello Pascal, apparantly, we share the same interest of foreign tv series. My favourite foreign tv series are mostly about crime-solving and mystery series too. I think it's because of when each episode ends with an unexplained conclusion, you get more eager for the next episode. Therefore, you stick and have your own commitment to keep on watching this particular series. As for an example that proves my same interest with Pascal, i have also watched the series called criminal minds and NCIS. Both are my favourite crime solving series along with Castle which were all played in FOX channel. However, Law and Order has never caught my eyes. From my three favourite series, criminal mind is probably the one that really put forward the mystery matter for it deals with crimes that were done by psychopaths. NCIS, as has been described by Pascal, is in fact a bit mediocre compare to the other two. As for Castle, it became my favourite one for it has a little touch ofdrama and romance in it.
So far I’ve watched many foreign TV series, and I would like to discuss two of the best TV series that always kept to impress me. The first one is called Black mirror, thanks to Raul Adam, without him I wouldn’t be watching black mirror series over and over again. Black Mirror never fails to impress me, they always have this way of introducing the plot in a very strange way as it always reveals a very peculiar plot twist by the end of each episode, and what makes me more amazing about this series is that the producer has always found a way to attach a deep meaning behind the plot twist. Moreover, each episode tells a different story with a different character inside the story, containing a hard sci-fi content, in which it means that it has an emphasis on scientific accuracy. Therefore, the story can be very enjoyable and yet still kept my brain analyzing what has happened within the movie.
The second TV series is a bit hard to pick, there are so many good TV series these days especially with the help of existence from Netflix, Netflix gave so many good recommendations, but out of all the series, I would like to pick a series called Band of Brother, this is an old series back from 2001. This TV series tells about the whole story of world war two for easy company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division to be specific. What even makes me more impress about this series is that the series has succeeded to make the audience feel they are present in the middle of the war zone, from feeling all the guilt in killing another human, until feeling all the sense of losing someone we dearly love. The series also shows that war is very chaotic, it doesn’t bring any benefit to any side neither also peace.
I do not really follow a lot of foreign tv series but i do follow a few foreign tv series. I do not know if anime counts but i think it is foreign as it comes from japan . Aside from that they also have lots of episodes, some even have several seasons so i guess it counts. I like watching anime when i wass in middle school but i stoppped watching it since grade 11. I like anime but i am not what you call a Wibu as i dn’t buy anime merchandise such as figures and all the other stuff. Specifically i like action animes which is realistic such as mafia related and war related animes. I do not like the magical and nonsense side from the anime. One anime i recommend is Baccano. This anime tells the tale of the powerful mafia families in Italy with a splice of magic.
The graphics are a little bit sadist but i guess it is somehow tolerable. The story is very interesting and you will not know what happens next as the story is unpredictable. The downside of this anime is that it keeps shifting it’s timeline so you have to really pay attenton and there are lots of charachters coming from the various mafia groups. Aside fro that it only has 1 season consisting less than 20 episodes if i recall corectly. In fact i think that these animes which have few episodes tend to have a good storylines as they are not forced. Aside fro animes i wath the band of brothers. It is about world war 2. It is an Hbo tv series and it only has 1 season. I really like this series as it tells me about the life the life of a soldier named Kompi E who started his life from an 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. It is avery good war tv series and i recommend it.
I have to say that I am not really into TV series, because sometimes watching TV series could be tiring for me. But I got to say that my favorite TV series is Fresh Off the Boat. I know I said earlier that watching TV series is tiring, but Fresh Off the Boat is always fun to watch. It is about a family that immigrated from China to United States and they has just moved from Chinatown in Washington D.C. to Orlando. The way they act will definitely makes you laugh. From what I heard in one of the casts interview, Fresh Off the Boat was inspired by a book with the same title. This sitcom series are still strong in Chinese cultures though in the story they already moved to America. I started watching this series four months ago (yes, I was a little late) because Constance Wu, the main character, was in a movie called Crazy Rich Asians. This is a must watch for everyone who loves sitcom series.
I actually have quite a few favourite foreign tv series. I have to say that I do enjoy a lot of tv series from Netflix, but I am not here to tell you tv series that a lot of people already aware of such as Riverdale or Stranger Things. I am going to inform you about 3 of my favourite foreign tv series that not a lot of people are aware of. The first one is called “Atypical”. Atypical is a series about the life of a boy who has autism. This comedy series is very light and heart-warming. The stories that this series is trying to tell you is very informative and overall just really enjoyable. The second one I’m going to tell you is called “Anne With An E”. Anne With An E is a story about the life of an orphan girl who got adopted by two siblings. What made me really fell in love with this series was the cinematography and the guy who played Gilbert Blythe is really attractive. For those two series I just mentioned, I do think it is not everyone’s cup of tea. Some will enjoy it and some will find it boring. The last series I am going to tell you is called “Black Mirror”. Black Mirror is a series that is very dark and mind blowing. Some episodes are very disturbing and mind boggling. But I do think it is very fun to watch although it is definitely not family friendly.
When it comes to foreign TV series, my favourite would be Stranger Things. It tells a story about a group of boys who discovered an alternate world named the Upside Down. The series are set in the year of 80s with lots of references to 80s environment. The genre of the series would be supernatural, mystery, and a little bit of horror. I personally think that all of the cast did a pretty good job portraying the characters in the series. The vibe in the series also made me think that I’m literally in the 80s when watching it. It also received good reviews from various critics, making it one of the best TV series in current date. Up until now, this series already have two seasons with the third being in production. I’m really looking forward on watching the third season because of my curiosity on seeing the continuity of the series.
Talking about favourite foreign television series I think my most favourite television series is Top Gear UK because actually there are a lot of Top Gear series but the one I like the most is the one from UK, before I was going to type this I was actually unsure whether Top Gear can categorized as a TV series but after I search and it said it is a TV series at least that’s what google said. To describe it, Top Gear is a television series where there are three hosts that lead the show mainly about reviewing cars these hosts are Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James may, although now they are already replaced because of some issues that hit Jeremy Clarkson and since then they moved to Amazon hosting still a car review show called The Grand Tour, but still I like Top Gear the most at least until they moved and I never watch it again because the reason why I watch it before was because of the three previous hosts that according to me were very funny when hosting.
Breaking Bad for the win! I love the series so much; it is the only series with tens of episodes that I have finished in less than a week, although I was sick after dusting off watching Breaking Bad, it was worthy!. The series is an American neo-western crime drama and widely regarded as one of the most excellent television series of all time, hence its widespread critical acclaim and has been praised by many critics. The story follows Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher in which he struggled and depressed. His former student, Jesse Pinkman, joins White to produce and sell crystallised methamphetamine, turning their life into a life of a crime. White did it to secure his family's financial future before his sudden lung cancer kills him. "breaking bad" is a Southern colloquial, meaning "raise hell" or turn to a life of a crime. It will always be a recommendation to those who seek thrill and real-life-exposement in watching series.
There are a number of foreign tv series that I watched through the years. To be honest, I haven’t watched any Indonesian tv series. (I watched Malam Minggu Miko, which is a youtube series by Raditya Dika but I don’t think it counts a a tv series). When I was in elementary school, my father used to watch 24 (The American tv series created by joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, starring Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer) after he got home from work. I also remember watching MacGyver when I was small as my dad recommended it to me. MacGyver was very fascinating to me because he is some sort of guy with a very extraordinarily unorthodox approach to problem solving. He also had extensive knowledge and overall it is just surreal how he could turn something that we use in our daily lives to a lethal weapon or a tool to save a life.
In my early teenagers, I watched a British TV series about automobiles called Top Gear. I really enjoy watching it very much; my eyes are stuck on the TV every time Top Gear is on. For those of you who don’t know what Top Gear is, I believe Dimas Beringas has successfully explained it briefly. The show is mostly about cars but surprisingly my mom (who wasn’t much of a car person) enjoyed watching that show with us. The creators and presenters of that show was so innovative that I find it fascinating how a show about cars can be enjoyed by someone who doesn’t even like cars. Sadly, Top Gear UK has ended, and I really miss that show so much. I hope that someday Top Gear UK would make new episodes again even if they are exclusively uploaded on a certain streaming platform.
Another TV Series I watched in my early teens is Perception. I noticed that nobody commented about this series after a quick Ctrl + F for “perception” on this blog. Because of this, I will try to explain the series to you guys. Perception is an American TV Series with a crime drama genre. The main character of this series is Dr Daniel Pierce, a neuropsychiatrist with schizophrenia who was recruited by Kate Moretti, a former student of his, from the Federal Bureau of Investigation to provide assistance on some of its most complex cases. Dr Pierce’s complication, paranoid schizophrenia, gave him hallucinations that enable him to pick out subtle clues in helping the FBI to solve crimes. I really like to watch this series because not only that this series was mind-blowing, Dr Pierce also gave me a valuable lesson which is to always use my weakness as my strength.
‘The Mentalist’ has always been one of my favourite foreign tv series. This mystery, police crime drama was created by Bruno Heller and starred by numerous actors such as Simon Baker, Robin Tunney, Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman, and many more. The series is about a former “psychic” named Patrick Jane (starred by Simon Baker) who is working as a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation. Instead of using a normal standard procedure on solving the cases, he uses his observational skills. I love the fact that each of the episodes always start with a mysterious prolog and ended with a mysterious epilog too. This is the reason why I keep watching it again and again. From 2008, the year where it was aired for the first time, until 2015, there are 7 seasons with a total of 151 episodes. If there’ll be the 8th season, for sure I’ll be one of the first people to watch it.
For me, watching TV series is still one of my favorite activities to do. I really love watching Criminal Minds on FOX channel. Criminal Minds is a series about FBI detectives solving crimes around the United States of America. The cases in the series are very unique and heart-twitching. I also love every single character in it especially Spencer Reid. Spencer Reid is a detective who is played by Matthew Gray Gubbler. He is a very smart detective whose knowledge is broad and knows so many theories regarding criminal behavior. There was an episode about him in which he was in love with Maeve, a girl whose character is played by Beth Riesgraf. The episode ends with Maeve being killed by a criminal who wants to hunt down every single member of the detective team. The episode is called “Zugzwang” and it is so thrilling to watch. I recommend the episode for everyone.
I have watched a lot of foreign tv series, mostly with my mom. She installed cable tv connections like Indovision because she was fed up with Indonesian shows. The first shows that I watched and would still hold to high standard to this day is NCIS. I think if you ask most of us generation Z, we would somehow know this show one way or another. The show itself is themed around a group of crime fighters working together to solves crimes, from local crimes in their hometown to international scandal involving terrorist groups. The show has a really good story and some of the best characters in TV series history in my opinion. My two most favourite character out of all of them are Gibbs and Ziva. I mean come on, you cannot help but respect Gibbs after seeing how he acts and knowing his military background. Unfortunately, I can’t say no more because it’ll be spoiler. As for Ziva, she is plain attractive. That’s it.
After I am bored with Perception, I asked my friends who were sitting at the same junior high school with me at that time. I was told by my friend that How I Met Your Mother is a good series. After searching the web for it, I found out that How I Met Your Mother is an exceptionally good series, and maybe one of the best American situation comedy that has ever aired all time. Situation comedy, or sitcom for short is a sub genre of comedy centred on a fixed set of characters who carry over from episode to episode. The first episode of How I Met Your Mother starts with two kids (which is Ted Mosby’s kids) and Ted wants to tell them the story of how he met their mother. The series was very good that I binge watched it until it was finished. I would watch them right after I get home from school and sometimes I even watch them in my car on my way to or from school.
The characters of the series How I Met Your Mother is very realistic, and their actions doesn’t seem like it is from a situation comedy series. I was really dumbfounded when I found out that Neil Patrick Harris, the actor that played Barnabas “Barney” Stinson in that series is gay. In the series, Barney is pictured as a womanizer who uses many ‘plays’ in his ‘playbook’ to help him have sex with a lot of women. Other than that, the other thing that I like from Barney’s character is that he is always suited up and dressed well no matter what occasion but the manner that he dresses is still appropriate and not over-dressing. Barney also often uses his traits of a womanizer to help Ted Mosby find a companion by being his wingman. Barney also said many quotes that is both funny and cool at the same time. His other trait is that he is very confident and he sometimes say stuff like “When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead!” Neil’s acting was so good that I always see him as Barney Stinson.
Binge watching a series took a huge toll on me. I am less focused in school and when I am home, I go straight to watching without bothering to spend time with my family. I stopped watching series because I came to realize that the cost of binge watching a series is well over the benefit of it. If I start watching another series, I would get so into it that I start binge watching them. After stopping for a long time, I got bored because I got too much free time on twelfth grade. I started seeking for other series I could fill my time with then I stumbled upon an American drama series titled Breaking Bad after seeing it numerous times on the 9gag website. At first, I think that the drama is just a typical drama without a serious conflict but after watching it I got too engaged with the gripping storyline and I started watching that serial back to back until finally I finished it.
If somebody what is my favorite foreign TV series they will think me as a child. The reason is simple, because really love to watch either an anime or a cartoon rather than live action one. I just love every action scene can be so epic or the art styles so unique that it become a trademark. If I have to choose one than I will choose Rick and Morty. For those who know the show, you know how weird, twisted, gross, interesting this series is. For those who don’t know just a little warning because if you want to watch this show you are in on a hell of a ride. Expect this show full of gore that will shaken your humanity, sex jokes so in your face that you promise will never show it to your parents, bombardment of swear word that you will hear constantly in every single episode, dark humor so dark you will know how crazy human can be, and all other crazy thing you will never find in Indonesian TV channel. If you can some how get pass through all shenanigan, you will discover a show that so interesting and smart with full of easter eggs and meme. If you want some thing worse than this show with more dark humor try South Park.
Hmmm, Dhanes I supposed that you’re in to South Park as well huh? I do watch it as well as my friend back in middle school was introduced me to it, also when it’s first instalment of the game was released which’s titled as “The Stick of Truth” which available on PC, Xbox and PS3, I do own the game to be honest which had me attached to my sofa back at home during Ramadhan back when I was in middle school, it was fun and thanks to it, my knowledge regarding the world of “Black Comedy” increased significantly and my memeing skills do improved actually LOL. Also, speaking of south park, it’s actually a series when a group of primary school students living their live in South Park with all of its problems and all the dramas such as Cartman’s drama with his Girlfriend which actually so cringy it hits my nerves when I watched it. Believe it or not, one of Indonesia’s tv cable provider do have Comedy Central Channel available which as my memory serves, southpark was aired once when I was at home, it was such an unbelievable thing remembering that the fact that Indonesia is strict when It comes to the airing of programs especially which contains dark humour. Don’t judge me wrong but when it comes to comedy, I prefer dark comedy instead of something else since It exercises your mind and your ability to not to feel offended towards something which actually its serves as a joke. That’s why I do love dark comedy. It’s one of my favourite section in 9GAG. And lemme ask you this, do you like dark comedy?
Like many other teens, I watch a few TV series and I have got a number of good ones that I would recommend to people; but my top pick has to be ‘How to Get Away with Murder’. The series goes into the drama, mystery, and thriller genre. At the beginning of each season, we are introduced to the death of someone and the series revolves around finding out who the murderer is and the story behind the death of the person. I really enjoy this series because it is full of mysteries and unexpected plot things. The series also make you wonder and use the clue to guess who the murderer is and once you are sure about who it is, there would be a plot twist and the murderer is not who you thought it was. But then, after you think about it, you will see how the dots connect and how obvious it should have been. That is why I think the show is amazing.
I have actually watched so many foreign TV series, usually from Netflix, Korean drama, or even anime. It’s really hard to choose which one is my favorite since I like so many of them. However, there is one show that was actually very interesting yet painful to watch. It was a show titled 13 Reasons Why. It is an American teen drama developed for Netflix by Brian Yorkey that is based on 2007 novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. The plot is about a seventeen years old student name Clay Jensen who has a friend name Hannah Baker who committed suicide after facing gossip and sexual assault at her high school. Hannah left thirteen suicide note on a tape about why she committed suicide, and distribute the tape to all people who are the reason behind why she killed herself. The show visualize how cruel and torturing a society filled with hatred can be. Although is far from what I experience at high school, I am pretty sure stuff like in the show do happen in real life. From the show, we can learn to spread peace rather than hatred. Gossiping will not give us any benefit at all. We should be careful when we are joking since it could offense someone. We should not take anxiety lightly because it could take someone’s life. If you are interested in watching the show, viewer discretion advised.
One of my favorite foreign TV series is Riverdale. Riverdale is an American teen drama television series based on the characters of Archie Comics. I’ve read some of the comic series before, and I was thrilled when I found out they would make it as a TV series. It is within the teen drama and mystery genre. The main character is Archie Andrews played by KJ Apa, whom along with his friends, uncovers Riverdale’s secrets and mysteries. It is, of course, purely fictional, but I still like how there are several plot twists in the series. It also displays a lot of daily teen dilemmas and problems, and therefore quite relatable. I also like the setting of this series, and how they pay attention to details in every scene. Not only that, I love how Veronica Lodge played by Camila Mendes and Cheryl Blossom played by Madelaine Petsch are portrayed in this series.
When it comes to TV series, I always prefer series that will addict me and pull my will to watch the next episode. But at the same time, it would impound my time for studying and socializing. These are the reason why I do not follow too much TV series even though I favor them the most. If you ask me what are my top favorites TV Series, I will say Narcos, Peaky Blinders and Stranger Things. First of all, I am going to talk about Narcos. I could say that ‘Narcos’ is really famous among guys my age. Narcos is basically an American crime drama web TV series which were created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro. The series are really famous for the story about the drug king Pablo Escobar. Pablo Escobar was a drug dealer who became a billionaire and even richer than his country, Colombia. The series actually give big views on Escobar’s connection with other drug lords, DEA and various opposition entities. Well maybe that is all for the description, I promise you there are lots of thing going on in this movie and could excite you for hours. Recommended!
The other TV series I want to talk about is the Peaky Blinders. As what I have commented before in the article about ‘What is your favorite movie’, I say that I love films that set their time backgrounds in or before the 19th century. Peaky Blinders is an English television crime dram. Based on wikipedia, it is primarily set in Birmingham, England in the aftermath of World War I. The series, which was created by Steven Knight and produced by Caryn Mandabach Productions, Screen Yorkshire and Tiger Aspect Productions, follows the exploits of the Shelby crime family. Screen Yorkshire provided funding for the production through the Yorkshire Content Fund. I really love Peaky Blinders and I think it is too underrated. The characters in the film are all well built. Well built here means that you cannot simply describe the. Its grey, there is no personality that completely good or bad. To people who loves crime movies, here's a recommendation! Also their soundtracks are brilliant though.
Stranger Things is an American science fiction-horror web television series created, written, and directed by the Duffer Brothersand released on Netflix. The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen serve as executive producers. It is set in the town of Hawkins, Indiana (fiction) in the 1980s and it is all started about a disappearance of a young boy after a supernatural events occurring around the town. Best part about this show is the setting. The first few episodes are carried by the setting alone. The part of Stranger Things that is worth to be praised is the cast and their top class acting, all the actors have done well, that’s why the show is interesting enough to watch without break. Every bit of the show is perfectly planned and executed, the cinematography, music, fabulous editing and not forgetting those mind blowing special effects. I have not done watching it though, but I am expecting to catch up in the holidays. TV series’ a recommendation also!
I am always interested in tv series that are involving law and politics. Why? because watching it does not only entertain us, but it will also give us lessons of life. Maybe that is just my perspective because of what I want to become in the future; a good and clean politician. My favorite tv series would be Suits, Designated Survivor, House of Cards, and Narcos. In the series Suits, I like how they portray the life of a corporate lawyer; starting from how they can have extended work hours, how their college degree affects their capability, and also how corporate lawyers maintain their work life and social life. Well from the series Designated Survivor and House of Cards, I can learn about political maneuvers, and of course how to gain power. Lastly, talking about Narcos, I really like how they are smart enough to smuggle drugs and why the police are stupid enough to be bribed.
I usually have a hard time watching an entire tv series simply because I get bored of it mid way and then I drop it altogether. And so its very rare that I have a TV series that I binge watch or try to follow. However, I did find a TV series that intrigued me was a show called "Mr. Robot". It was a TV series that started in 2015 that starred the likes of Rami Malek and Christian Slater. It currently has 3 seasons up with a final season 4 in the works, which is rather unfortunate for me. The character depicted is an anti-social I.T security specialist turned hacker who tries to brings wrong doers to justice, but then he sort of evolves from there by doing larger scale hacks for a group of people. Although in some seasons the story progresses a little slow, how the show moves and unravels certain information is the factor that kept me hooked, and if I talked about it a bit more I am afraid to reveal plot details that makes the TV series so unique and attractive. I would recommend this TV series to anyone who watches Sherlock or Black Mirror.
There is a lot of foreign TV series that I like. One of my favourite foreign TV series would be Friends. It is an American sitcom which talks about six people, three women, and three men, having a different standout personality with each other, living in New York with fascinating stories. I’ve always loved sitcoms, and I usually watch them when I had free time for entertainment. Friends consist of 10 seasons with 20-ish episodes each, full of hilarious events about their job and relationships. At this moment, I’m on the last season, which is quite saddening for me. And therefore, I have been watching it slowly, or not as frequent as before since I don’t want it to end. I really love friends since it actually entertains me and cheers me up everytime I had a bad mood, even my phone case is related to Friends: the quote of what Ross Geller, one of the characters in Friends, said. lol.
Another comedy (and can be included as sitcom as well) series that I like is called The Good Place. It was originally released on September 19, 2016. This series talks about the afterlife of the main character named Eleanor Shellstrop, casting Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, Jameela Jamil, D’Arcy Carden, William Jackson Harper, and lastly Manny Jacinto. It currently has an ongoing season 3, which I haven’t watched yet, while I like season 1 the most. I like this movie because it entertains me a lot with its amusing stories. Aside from sitcom movies, I also like drama tv series such as Dynasty. It is a soap opera tv series talking about the conflict of two of America’s wealthiest families, which is the Carringtons and he Colbys, casting Elizabeth Gillies as its main character named Fallon Carrington. It was firstly released on October 11, 2017, and still running until now, currently on season 2.
I don’t watch a lot of foreign TV series; Some of the series that I watch are Grey’s Anatomy, Castle, Riverdale, Glee and the first few episodes of How to Get Away with Murder. Among all the TV series I’ve watched, my favorite has to be Grey’s Anatomy. It is basically a drama that revolves around the medical world. Grey’s Anatomy has 15 seasons and it is still going, so if you’re interested in watching it you have a lot to catch up. It features Ellen Pompeo as the main character named Meredith Grey; thus, the name Grey’s Anatomy. People may say that Grey’s Anatomy is too rated, and have a lot of explicit scenes. However, I see that we can learn a lot of things from the drama and the conflict it provides. Meredith Grey went through a very tough life. From season 1 where Grey and five other characters were introduced as interns and they progress to become an attending surgeon as they go along the series. Grey lost her mother, sister, best friends, and her own husband all throughout the series. Grey’s Anatomy will be a roller coaster ride for its audiences; you could feel joy and brokenhearted all at once.
I am not sure which foreign TV series that I like the most. But, if Sherlock counted as one of the TV series, Sherlock is my favourite one. I am not a big fan of fictional movies or stories, I personally think that they are boring and too imaginary for me. But, Sherlock and some of Marvels films are the exception. I sound so millennial, but that’s the truth! I truly adore how Benedict Cumberbatch beautifully play the role of being Sherlock which is known as a sociopath person, yet Sherlock is also a person full of surprises. I watched every season of Sherlock series over and over again and I still not get enough. I’ve been waiting for the next season but it’s not coming yet. There is a rumour saying that the last sesion which is the fourth session is the last of the whole series. But, I do still hope that there will be a new series coming up!
I have to admit that I’m just started to watch TV series that my friend, Sabrina Kiasati from Friday have suggested. So my judgement is a bit premature because I don’t have a good knowledge about TV series. Fresh Off The Boat, for me is really good TV series. I don’t know but somehow I can relate to Eddie’s suffering as a kid. That TV shows kind off remind me of my family in Bandung. It’s hilarious yet so touching. It gave you an ide of how to run a family in the future. But after two seasons and I’m started to feel like I’m addicted, I stop watching that series and take a break for a while. I’m planning to continue my journey with Huang’s family after the final exam. I want to spent the rest of my vacation inside my rooms in a blanket wit a pillow to cuddle, watching series to another series until I feel satisfied and good about my self. Thank you so much sir for making this blog. It helps me so much.
The kind of TV series that I watch are animations from Japan, known as anime. I have watched a lot of anime, and it would be difficult to choose one anime to be my favorite. But if I need to mention one anime as my favorite, I would say it’s “the seven deadly sins”. The first season was released on october 2012. But I just recently watched it a few weeks ago. I really like this tv series because it has many funny scenes. It has a lot of jokes and wont hold back with their dirty jokes too. But they also have some serious moments and emotional moments, and they were able to mix all of them together smoothly. Their story line is also always on track, it doesn’t change the topic or goes to a different story randomly. So I would say this is probably my favorite tv series so far.
In this day and age, there’s an abundance amount of good quality TV shows from a variety of genres. It’s hard to choose the best where TV series are arguably more well developed and acted than most of mainstream movies. My top three TV shows are Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, and Breaking Bad for different reasons respectively. But if I have to choose which one made the biggest impact in my life, I have to say Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad was a masterpiece in all aspects of film-making, character development, acting, and everything in between. The characters you follow from season one will not be the same ones in the end of season six. As wild as it is to think a chemistry teacher would be a drug lord controlling most of the southern border, it is scarily depicted in a believable way, every choices leads to satisfying consequences, and every end of the episode leads to me yearning for more.
I really like to watch TV series and I usually binge watch an entire season for a day. I usually watch them on Netflix but apparently, there are some wifi in Jogja that can’t access Netflix, so I didn’t watch TV series that often anymore. There are lots of TV series that I watch and really love. The Flash, Arrow, Suits, Gossip Girl, Stranger Things, Riverdale, Grey’s Anatomy, Black Mirror and many more. I didn’t have that a specific genre of TV series that I like, I just basically watch what I think is interesting and isn’t boring. I didn’t have that one specific favorite TV series, because I like to watch them all. Usually, if I get bored on one TV series, I’ll watch the other one. At the moment, I am finishing the last season of The Vampire Diaries. However, when I get bored, I usually watch The Flash. Because, The Vampire Diaries is mostly about love, I like to switch things up and watch The Flash instead because it has a really interesting storyline. As a conclusion, I can’t decide which one is my favorite TV series because I just love watching all of them.
I would say there’s too much of TV shows that I’ve watched in the past that made it into my favorite list. I love shows from more than just genre. I like series involving murders or mystery, like the short series Sherlock (adapted from the original Sir Arthur Canon Doyle characters with a modern twist on it) or the series Black Mirror, who showcases the negative effects on technology in a dystopic world. I also grow fond on drama series called This Is Us, a tearjerker TV show that mostly revolves on family. But my most favorite one would be a sitcom called Brooklyn Nine Nine, it’s a story about a group of policemen in a precinct, and how they solve cases in a hilarious way. The other TV show that I’d like to highlight is Suits. A series about lawyers that’s gotten me more knowledge on the world of law where every episode i watched made me feel very insightful.
I have to say, I am into Spanish series right now. You may think, Spanish series are not foreign tv show for me, because my mother tongue is spanish. However, I am from Latin America and the spanish we speak is different with the one in Spain. Anyways, my favorite tv-show is call Money Heist, “La casa de papel” in spanish. This tv-show is also available in Netflix and I truly recommend it. The show consist in two seasons with 22 Episodes in total. This serie tell the story of a mastermind professor who plans the biggest heist in history, to print billion of Euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. Crime, Drama, and Love are some words that describe this show but the best part was to see every detail behind the planification of the heist. This is the kind of series where you like the bad guys and hate the good ones. The tv show is also available in other languages so I really recommend it.
The TV series I like the most is "we bare bears" because he has a unique character and very funny behavior. I also like watching because there are characters that I like the most, namely ice bear. Ice bears have different characteristics than their siblings and that makes me even more interested in watching the series. Plus the way he talks always mentions himself "ice bear" and that makes me feel more like this series. The favorite part of the series about ice bears is "Yuri and the bear". It tells about the childhood of ice bears which where the ice bears were chased by hunters. Ice bears throng behind someone's tent for his safety. Ice bear hiding until he was found with the owner of his tent, and the owner had expelled the ice bear because the ice bear had opened the secret item of the tent owner, indeed his actions were not good but the ice bear had the nature to know more and it made me sad because the ice bear was so small and he I don't know where it's going, until the owner allows ice bear to live with him as long as it doesn't open the tent owner's belongings. Ice bear was taught by Yuri, the owner of the camp, from how to study, cook, how to cut wood and others. Ice bears who were often trained finally managed to learn Yuri's blessings. One day Ice Bear cleaned Yuri's tent, and he was so curious about the items that Yuri was not allowed to open. He opened slowly until he finally found a photo of Yuri with his family, and he saw Yuri's child holding a wooden horse. Because the ice bear wants to surprise Yuri, the ice bear decides to make the item exactly in the photo of the Yuri child. Yuri went home and the ice bear immediately showed Yuri the items, Yuri became angry and annoyed at the Ice bear and he drove the ice bear from his tent. Until finally the ice bear is pursued by hunters. Ice bear got lost and he was cornered, but Yuri came to save him even though they never met again. And as long as I watch the ice bear section being kicked out, I have cried because I can't bear to see that funny face. But I enjoyed this series, because that's where I like stories about we bare bears.
I don't watch tv series as much as i used to when i was a kid. Or even watching the television, it does not entertain me to the extend of growing up with only television as our entertainment. We have gadgets that are so advanced they can almost do everything. But i still watch the tv for news. Anyway, my favorite television series is absolutely either Game of Thrones or The Vikings. Do not get me wrong, i don't get hyped and just jump into a trend. I have followed GOT and The Vikings since their first episode. Yeah because basically i like anything that sounds about living in the past and war. Both the Game of Thrones and The Vikings contain harsh content and sexual entertainment. Great ideology of ruling a kingdom or just lead your pack. The cinematography and the actings are awesome. They fulfill your eyes' needs of blood. And they entertain you with high quality of ancient dramas. If you like documentation kind of films, even though some parts of these movies are fiction to make it more entertaining, these two are 10/10 .
I am not an avid enthusiast for television series as I rarely watch any of them, aside from Japanese anime series, Takeshi Castle, and a few shows that I remember watching in the past. But there is one series in particular that really caught my attention to the point I watched the whole series to completion. It was more of a television show than a series I think, the program was called “Fight Quest”. It showcased the endeavour of the two hosts-- Doug Anderson and Jimmy Smith, both are martial arts enthusiasts and practitioners from the United States--across several countries to experience various styles of combatives. They would spend 5 days to train in one particular style in each of the countries they were scheduled to visit and rising up to the final challenge in the last day of their stay, which is a contest of might against the top-tier fighters of the style. What I like the most from this series is that it had the potential to create the awareness and knowledge about what it is like to practice and involve ourselves in real martial arts; respect even for the opponent, compassion, always try to have fun, and lots of good old toughness. Unfortunately, the production team has no plan to continue the show in another season.
I also like the episode titled "Coffe cave". It was told that the characters of grizz, panda, and also ice bear had grown up. The story is originally panda and grizz is relaxing sitting outside, then the ice bear comes with 2 cups of coffee for his brother. Panda and grizz praise the coffee ice bear because the coffee foam forms panda and grizz and tastes good. Suddenly there came a woman who happened to run in front of their house. He asks if there is a cafe around here, because the woman smells the aroma of coffee. Panda replied that it was made by ice bear, but Grizz invited the woman to drink coffee made by Ice Bear and all to gather together. Ice bear made coffee for the woman and the woman photographed her friend, then she asked why not build a cafe? And his brother agreed because their goal was to find friends.
The first day they opened a cafe, very crowded with visitors and more and more happy with their brothers thanks to the ice bear who has the skill to make coffee. Shortly thereafter, Ice Bear is tired and wants to rest because he doesn't have time to rest. But his brother asked the ice bear to make coffee again to please the visitors. Ice bear was asked by his brother to drink coffee and finally the ice bear turned fresh and was ready to work again. The next day panda and grizz are surprised to see that ice bear is not sleeping at all and he still enjoys drinking coffee. They opened the cafe until the ice bear returned to acting. Ice turned fierce because he did not want to share the coffee with visitors. Panda and grizz panic because of the action of ice bear that turns strange. Until finally panda and grizz try to throw the coffee as far as possible from the ice bear. Ice bear caught the panda, and the only grizz was still holding the coffee and trying to throw it away. Shortly thereafter, Ice Bear fell asleep while trying to catch up with Grizz. And panda tells us that ice bear treats pandas like a baby boy who sings songs to sleep. This series story is so stressful for me because this is a fuss between you but a very unique way of noisy where the ice bear sings a song for his brother so that his brother sleeps. Though ice bear that should have time to sleep. Finally, grizz and panda decided not to build a cafe anymore for the sake of the ice bear's safety. Because ice bears apparently can not drink coffee and it can make its nature become strange.
It is been a long time for me to not watching TV series. But, there was a TV series that I liked the most. The show is called “Archer” and it was aired in FX. It is an animated comedy spy TV series. It mainly tells the story of Sterling Archer, the main protagonist, and his mission in secret agency called ISIS (not that Islamic State) during the Cold War-esque time period. He is not like the typical secret agent in the James Bond movies. He is an alcoholic, womanizer, sarcastic and sexist. Basically, he is a jerk. What makes this series great is the variety of cast of supporting characters. There is an African-American woman that serves as protagonist’s love interest, a gay bomb specialist, crazy scientist raised by Nazi father and head of KGB secret police. The storyline is stupid and does not lead to anything important but still funny and original. It is definitely 18+ and consist of racist and sexist content, not recommended for people who easily triggered.
I love watching movies and TV series so much that I can't remember the exact number of them I have watched. I have several TV series that considered as my favorites, but for this comment I will tell you about American Horror Story, the first TV series I watch, love, and follow from the beginning. Each season always airs annually in October since 2010 and each season brings up different theme and storyline which are connected and happened in the same universe. Up until now, there has been eight seasons, and the producer already told us, the fans, that American Horror Story will be produced until season 10. My favorite season is the first season that titled Murder House. Just like its subtitle, the first season tells about a problematic family that moved into a house which full of the souls of dead people. It contains a lot of disturbing scenes yet the whole season is just so entertaining for me.
Another TV series that also my favorite is Black Mirror. It was produced by an independent movie production before it was taken over by Netflix to be produced and aired annually. I pretty much believe everybody here that have watch the series will tell you that Black Mirror is so disturbing yet also mindblowing. Our daily nightmares and worry about the future technologies are all presented nicely in each episode. It's so relatable if we look at our community these days. Some of it are unrealistic but still possible to happen. What I really like about this series is that they are not afraid to mock and show the very bad side of our world. My favorite episode is titled Be Right Back. The episode tells about Martha (Hayley Atwell) that mourns the death of her boyfriend, Ash Starmer (Domhnall Gleeson) until she discovers that there is a technology that allows her to communicate with an artificial intelligence imitating Ash. It made my heart broken when I watched it and still do whenever I tried to watch it again.
I have so many favorite TV series. Even though I am not a big fan of watching movies or TV series, but my most favorite TV series is Teen Wolf. I love everything about Teen Wolf, what I like the most from Teen Wolf are the cast and the story line. Not only the casts are very good and talented but also the story line is very simple yet unique, makes it very interesting to watch. I could watch one and a half season of Teen Wolf only in one day while enjoying my day off. Other than Teen Wolf, my most favorite TV series when I was a kid are the classic Disney TV series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck. It is a comedy TV series and It was my favorite one that I could not missed even only one episode.
Game of thrones is definetly my favorite tv series. The genre of this series is action, adventure, and drama and it has TV-MA ratings which means this series is specifically designed to be viewed by adults, and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17. Even though it has TV-MA ratings, I still watched it when I was 15 years old, and I have no regret watching it because it turns out to be my favorite tv show. The synopsis of game of thrones is “Nine noble families fight for control over the mythical lands of Westeros, while an ancient enemy returns after being dormant for thousands of years.” What makes me started to watch this series is because I really like middle ages or medieval theme, and Game of Thrones got this theme. There are knights, kings, queens, castles, horses, armor, swordfights, kingdom, war, and even dragons. When I started watching Game of Thrones this, it already had 4 seasons, and every season has at least 9 episodes, the duration per episode is 57 minutes, therefore I’m doing a GoT marathon and it really didn’t bored me at all. As I keep watching, the series becoming more exciting and complex. How the story goes and the characters develop makes me watched GoT until the finale seasons which is season 8 that will be aired on april 2019. It’s not only me who really likes Game of Thrones because there are also so much people out there who likes and talks about it, even in the IMDb (an online database of information related to films, television programs, home videos and video games, and internet streams, including cast, production crew and personnel biographies, plot summaries, trivia, and fan reviews and ratings) Game of Thrones with it’s 9,4 IMDb rating is ranked 3 for top rated tv shows.
the TV series that I like the most is the flash. The flash is the American superhero television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, aired on The CW. The Flash story based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen, a superhero who has the power to run faster than light. The flash originated from a tragedy where the main character, Barry Allen, was hit by a lightning strike while working as a forensic expert at the Central City Police Department. After being hit by lightning Barry Allen began to feel that he found a super power. After realizing all of that, Barry joined several scientists at STARS Lab to form a team and fight a number of threats that endanger Central City. In this TV series Barry Allen will also collaborate with several other superheroes such as Green Arrow, Supergirl, White Canary and others. In addition, this film also tells the story of Barry Allen in living his life as a human being.
I have not been watching television lately but before I went to college, I used to watch series that are related to crime such as CSI and Hawaii Five-0. I really like mysterious movies and I like how they try to solve the cases. Although after watching it many times, the story is a bit predictable and it was almost too easy for me to guess who the killer was. The reason why I do not watch it anymore is because I do not have the opportunity to watch it. I would really love to watch these two movies again sometimes. When comparing these two series, I prefer Hawaii five-0 because it is more modern. I did not finish watching Hawaii Five-0 until the last episode and I wish to complete it in the near future. As for CSI, the one that I watch the most is CSI:Mami because that one appear often on my television compared to the other CSI.
My favourite foreign TV series is The Walking Dead. I have been watching The Walking Dead from I was little, from the first season, until now the ninth season. I usually watch the series together with my dad. I think it is a great TV series because it has action, adventure, drama, sci-fi, horror, and also the suspense elements in the series. The Walking Dead is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where a bunch of survivors are trying to survive in a world that is overrun by zombies, or walkers, the term that the characters use to call the zombies.
My other favourite foreign TV series is Star Trek Discovery. The series are about to enter its second season. I like this series because I am a huge fan of the earlier Star Trek series. It is a perfect blend of science fiction with action and adventure. But if I had to choose between Star Trek or The Walking Dead, I think I would still prefer The Walking Dead.
Back in my childhood days, my dad and I used to watch tons of cartoons, mostly from Japan since my dad’s also loves the old Japanese culture such as the samurai, those ronins etc. back in my childhood, I used to watch Shin-Chan with my dad, I know it exactly that Shin-Chan is not something that’s appropriate to be watched by kids, but then my dad actually able to explain it clearly everything that I didn’t understand from the episodes without any some kind of “filter” I suppose which makes me understand as well as enjoy the show with zero sorts of confusion of any kind. Actually, he’s not a huge fan of TV show, I asked him once, he claimed that he prefer to have a movie instead of a tv series which also influences me badly since I didn’t find it that much interesting to watch series, since I do prefer to watch movies which In my opinion provides a better presentation compared with series in general. Don’t get me wrong, I do watch tv series as well, I used to watch Ballers which’s a HBO tv series starring the rock and several NFL stars do took part there as well, also, I do watch anime and mostly it’s regarding the slice of life and not the ones that’s too serious such as One Piece or Fairy Tail.
My favourite foreign TV series is Doctor House. It is a very unique TV series. The story is about a genius Doctor, in fact he is like detective that works as a doctor. He is very smart in making analysis both physcologically or physically of a patient. His name is George House. The mystery and the plot twist of every episode is very good, for a way it seems like repititive for each episode, but in the same time it feels somewhat very vary from one and others. I think it is because of the case of each episode is far differ for each other resulting in unboring or even very interesting series. Not just the mystery, the characters and their relationships between each other is so relateable making it feels like i am there with them and not watching from my sofa alone. The comedy is top notch too, every puns and the very sarcastic way George House diagnosing his patient is very amusing for me. Without a doubt, Doctor House is the one od the best foreign series i have ever watched.
I actually have two favourites foreign tv series, the first one is Daredevil, and the other one is vikings. I like daredevil because its different from other kind of superheroes series out there. Daredevil is very dark, its actually close to a thriller i must say. But thats the thing i like from the series. There are lot of twist, betrayal, and although the story is kinda slow in the beginning but trust me it’ll getting more and more intense through the middle till the end. Then for vikings, i think this is one of those series that is comparable to game of thrones. There are a lot of drama, war, betrayal, blood, and one think i like for sure is that the plot is very unpredictable and trust me you will never know whose the good guy nor the bad guy. The conflict it self is very complex, and one additional value that i like about this series is that it include many interesting history.
I didn’t know much about tv series, but there’s one tv series that I often watch, its Good Doctor. This series is an American medical drama television. Good Doctor tells the story of a Doctor called Shaun Murphy, a young savant surgical resident at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital who lives with the challenges of autism. He relocates to San Jose, California, to work at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital as a surgeon. Everyone doubts him as a surgeon because he has autism, and the storyline shows us how he proves everyone wrong. What I like about this series are it shows how Shawn Murphy with his hard work demonstrate that he is the best doctor in that hospital because he can see a perspective that no other doctors can see. This series doesn’t only show the story about Shawn Murphy, it shows the entire job desk as a doctor thus this series have an exciting plot twist and many exciting scenes.
My favorite foreign TV series would be How to Get Away with Murder. It’s an American TV series that tells a story of how a defense attorney teaches as a professor in a university and teaches her students how to be the perfect defense attorney that can get away with any accusations at their clients even if their clients are guilty in court. Later, she takes five to six of her students to be her helpers in investigating cases of guilty clients and tamper with evidences to make the clients look innocent. However, throughout the seasons, murders were committed by one of the main characters which involves everyone in it and they struggle to get away with murder for real themselves. The series has many law aspects such as the terminologies and how the American court works which I love so much and teaches me more about law in general as it is a subject I’m very interested in other than management.
For me, my favorite TV show is NCIS, both the regular NCIS and the NCIS : New Orleans. Since i was a little kid, i always love action movies and also crime-solving tv series, like CSI, Criminal Minds, etc. But still, my personal favorite is NCIS. I watched NCIS on the Fox Channel back then, but now, i rarely watch them as i already moved to Jogja and here i don’t subscribe to cable tv. NCIS is actually a US Navy’s law enforcement agency, specialized to investigate crimes involving the US Navy or US Marine Corps. NCIS stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Services. NCIS in the tv series settled down in Washington DC, as the Major Criminal Response Team, or MCRT. The main character of this tv series is the agents of the MCRT. Led by Agent Leroy Gibbs, 3 NCIS agents assigned to the team must solve every crime that happened which involved a US Navy or US Marine Corps member. I’ve been watching this movie since season 7, and i reccomend you to watch this as the plot is amazing and there is a lot of surprise with the storyline itself.
My favourite TV series would be Star Wars: the Clone Wars. Although many people would see the TV series to be childish, the series did develop to become something dark. Not only that, the visuals as well as the animations of the series did become better from season to season, which basically indicated the hard work that the animators of the show had exerted into the series. About the story, the TV series focuses on the many events that took place between Star Wars Episode 2 and 3, where Anakin, one of the main characters in the whole Star Wars franchise, had been trusted with a female apprentice named Ahsoka Tano. For those of you who never watched this TV series, I’m sure that you have no idea on who is this apprentice which I just mentioned. But that’s the thing, every character that you never witnessed to have debuted in the main Star Wars movies subtly infers the fates of the main and supporting characters that are present in the Star Wars: the Clone Wars TV series. For example, if a character were to be present in the TV series but somehow missing in the main movies, then that character could either have died in the TV series, gone, or just retired. This uncertainty which leaves many of the audiences wondering is one of the many aspects that made the series exciting in my opinion. In terms of the story arcs, the TV series dug deep into the histories of the many Star Wars characters whose personal or aggregate stories (as in the whole history of the clone army and the battles the army had gone through together as brothers) may not have been fully explained or elaborated in the main Star Wars movies. Furthermore, the TV series immerses the audiences by taking them to various locations in the Star Wars universe which had never been explored in the main movies, making the lore of the franchise seems vast and rich in terms of its cultures, races, locations, and many more. Overall, I think Star Wars: the Clone Wars is an enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone who’s interested in the Star Wars franchise in general.
My favorite foreign TV series is SIX, this TV series genre is drama and action. The first time I watch this TV series I thought it was going to be a boring TV series with a predictable endings, but I was totally wrong when I watch episode 2, when I keep following the series, it involves more action and unpredictable endings. SIX TV series is a TV show that delivered a Navy Seals point of view, The series chronicles the operations and daily lives of operators who are part of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), more commonly known as SEAL Team Six, which is one of the U.S. Armed Forces' primary counter-terrorism units. SIX TV series for me is so thrilling because it involves lot of action in killing terrorist with a strategy in order to keep the United States of America safe from any terrorist threat.
Any fan of TV series wouldn’t be a stranger to Game of Thrones. It is honestly one of the best series out there where it takes place in a fictional world with dragons and undead with different factions or clans fighting for the throne. It has plenty of drama and action where people will go to any length to sit on the iron throne. From poisoning the king, going to all out war or even blowing up the entire capital city with fire. It was also the very first tv series I have watched with nudity and sex scenes, however if you are disturbed by it you could always watch a censored version. The final season is coming very soon and I just can’t wait, I binged watched the whole 7 season in less than 2 months during high school and I guess it is safe to say that I’m addicted to Game of Thrones
My favorite foreign TV series is La Casa de Papel (Money Heist in English). It is a Spanish TV series in which a very smart professor recruits a group of criminals to organize the biggest heist of History: they will take the control of the place where the money is printed in Madrid and print their own money before escaping. The two first seasons of the series are available on Netflix and a third season will be released soon. I really recommend you to watch this series even if you don’t speak Spanish as it as been translated into many languages. I think that what makes this series special is the fact that we are always transported between the past and the present to follow at the same time the heist and its preparation. Moreover, in this series we can follow different points of view so at the same time we support the criminals, but we also can’t really be against the main police inspector.
My favourite TV series is Sherlock Holmes. It is made by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Of course it is based on the novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is a fabulous detective and solves case after case. However there are some differences between this version of Sherlock Holmes and the others. This versions takes part in the modern time, if Sherlock doesn’t know something he just googles it. Also is Sherlock (SPOILER ALERT) gay in this version. In my opinion these are both good changes and they make Sherlock Holmes more accessible for the younger audience. Sherlock is played by one of my favourite actors, Benedict Cumberbatch, famous for his roles in e.a. 12 Years a slave, The Imitation Game and Dr Strange. The other main character, Dr Watson, is played by Martin Freeman, who is famous for his roles in The Hobbit and the other BBC hit, The Office.
This is going to be my last comment in the 2018 english writing skill blog. I have wrote a comment in this post but I’d like to post another one, if I may. First of all, I’d like to say thank you to Mr. Adrian for he has become such a great lecturer. I never found his class to be boring for there are always fun games and quizzes that still revolves around the class’ mandatory discussion. Okay, this may be not related to the post written above, but I feel like it is necessary to give an appreciation to the most innovative lecturer in the faculty of economics and business of Gadjah Mada university. Now, to discuss about the post, I used to watch a lot of tv series in the tv before there was Netflix. Fox channel and star world channel were my two favourite channels to watch worth-watching tv series. However, the more activities I have the less I have the chance to watch tv. Therefore, I kinda left my habit of watching tv series.
I think I have posted on this article, but because I love this article a bit too much I would like to post another comment because I have so many favourite foreign TV shows. As I have mentioned before I love the TV show Game of Thrones, I think it is one of if not the best TV show out there. But there is a competitor, the TV show stranger things. Stranger things was first introduced to me by one of my friends, at first I was not really sure about how good it was and if I was going to be interested in the show but I gave it a watch, I did not quite like it at first but because I was so curious as to what is going to happen next so I kept watching and watching and I was intrigued. Stranger things have such a great cliffhangers at the end of each episode which makes me want to tune in for the next episode and it is such a well made tv show, the actors and actress did an amazing job portraying their characters.
Another TV series that I like is actually still considered as an on-going series. The series is called Titans. It is based on the character from the comic book series called the Teen Titans that is created by DC comics. At first I was a bit sceptical about how it will look because a comic book based TV series or movie could messed up easily sometimes if not being accurate from the comics, but after I watched the first episode all of that feelings before watching the series are gone instantly. The costumes of the characters are so accurate when compared to the comic book counterparts. It tells a story of a former Batman sidekick named Dick Grayson who is no longer wanted to be with Batman and chose to form his own team because of his current situation. I couldn’t say much other than that as it will spoil the story of the series but what I can say is that the series is worth the watch (at least until the episode that aired this week).
I’m not like your typical TV series binger who finished up one whole season in a day, in fact, I don’t really watch a lot of TV series, I prefer watching movies instead of watching continuous stories that could take a whole week of your time. But one of the TV series that I actually like is called Black Mirror. It’s a Netflix original series set in an alternative present or the near future that often has dark episodes. The show highlight topics related to humanity’s relationship to technology. Black Mirror has 4 seasons with different amounts of episodes in each season. Season 1 and 2 only have three episodes each while season 3 and 4 have six. The show also has one special episode which airs in between season 2 and 3. I have watched almost all of the episodes with the exception of S1E1. I read the synopsis for the episode and decided that I’m not going to watch it.
What I like about Black Mirror is the fact that it is an anthology TV series, which means that each episode has its own storyline that mostly doesn’t connect to another episode, so I can start watching from any episode and doesn’t waste my time wondering what would happen in the next episode. But in some episodes, there are some easter egg about the things or events happened in other episodes. My personal favourites are White Bear, Nosedive, Playtest, USS Callister, and Black Museum. Nosedive and USS Callister use a pretty light theme for the set of the story, White Bear and Black Museum tell a story with a very dark background, while Playtest is not for people with a weak heart. Even though each episode has a really different theme and storyline, each one ends with a really deep meaning that project to you what would happen if we choose a wrong choice in life.
This is one of those articles where I can talk about non-stop as I’ve always loved watching Western TV series. My all-time favourite Western TV series is ‘Game of Thrones’. Oddly, people either extremely enjoy Game of Thrones, or either dislike it completely, without having any in between. This may be because the series involves lots of sex scenes, vulgar language and even graphical images (violence and gore). However, if you tolerate these, I promise you that ‘Game of Thrones’ deserves the title of being the best TV series of all time. I personally enjoy Game of Thrones because firstly, it’s set in medieval times which is weird because I usually hate movies set in the past. However, I find the series setting nice because it gives me a great depiction of what it was like in the past; whether it be from the language, clothing or the buildings and landscapes. Secondly, the story itself is really interesting; there’s a lot of things going on in the series because it involves 7 clans/houses fighting for a throne and it shows each of their different perspectives. This series truly deserve its 9.5/10 rating on IMDB!
My second all-time favourite TV series goes to ‘Breaking Bad’. At first I was sceptic about this but as the episodes advanced, the story eventually gets better and better. Before I start talking, I just want to warn whoever’s reading this, there will be spoilers ahead. Firstly, the main reason why I love this series is because it tells a story about a Chemistry teacher who starts a drug business: methamphetamine to be exact. Coming from someone whose dad is a Chemist, this is very hooking and interesting for me as it shows their capabilities and how smart they are. Secondly, Breaking Bad shows us an accurate depiction of how a drug cartel works and how it’s operated. It tells us every aspect of a drug business from the finances, the violence, and the partnerships to the dramas like backstabbing etc. On top of all this, the foundation of the story tells us how this father (the Chemistry teacher) tries to support and raise his family by cooking drugs to make money. This creates an emotional empathy towards the audience which is why it got a 9.5/10 rating on IMDB just like Game of Thrones.
Breaking Bad’s theme was so awesome. One of its main themes that I like is Walter’s hunger for power. That particular theme is also found on another series I watched after watching breaking bad, which is Narcos (Cue Rodrigo Amarante – Tuyo). The series shows Pablo Escobar’s journey from a mediocre drug dealer to a cocaine kingpin. The storyline and the cast were so good that I feel like I know Pablo Escobar and his friends personally, not only just from the screen. In fact, before watching the narcos series, I despise Pablo Escobar so much but along the way I feel like I know why he did such things and it kind of explained his actions. The second season of the Narcos series is about hunting down Pablo, and I didn’t root for the police; I rooted for Pablo. When Pablo finally died in the second season of the series, I’m no longer interested to watch the Narcos series again so I just stopped.
I used to watch a lot of TV, but the TV in my house is getting more and more unused with the progress of other forms of entertainment. My whole family tends to watch YouTube videos way more than TV nowadays. However, I have two favorite TV shows that I really want to discuss and possibly promote. The first TV show that I would like to discuss is Brooklyn 99. Some of you might already know the show, but for those of you that don’t know; let me give you a brief review. Brooklyn 99 is a fictional, comedic show that tells about the stories of Detective Jake Peralta while he was working in the Brooklyn Police Department. It shows a set of characters with drastically different personalities and makes the show that much funnier. For example, Jake’s captain looks very strict at first glance, but he turns out to be a much quirkier guy than expected. This also tells about the not-so-platonic love story between Jake and his coworker, Amy Santiago. Overall, I would highly recommend the show if you just want to laugh and have a weird sense of humor like me.
Brooklyn 99 is great. I mean, it’s a solid TV show to watch, but it isn’t legendary. For those of you that understand that reference, you probably know what I am going to talk about. The TV show that I adore the most, the one that I watched all 9 seasons three times, the one that will always be a part of me; is ‘How I Met Your Mother’. This show is my all-time favorite show. It is a comedic romance show that tells about Ted Mosby’s love story. The show is basically Ted speaking to his children about how he met their mother. There are 5 main characters to the show, and one of the most famous ones is Barney Stinson, played by Neil Patrick Harris. This show has personally taught me a lot of things. One of the most important things it tells me is how no matter who you think you are and how unlucky you are, you are still writing your own story; and you should never let anyone take away your story. Now, Ted has been through a lot in his quest to find ‘The Mother’, but one thing is for sure; it was one hell of a journey.
Most of my favourite TV series are actually from when I was a little kid, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. I remember going home from school and wanting to change my clothes immediately so I could see Drake & Josh. Or having a marathon from watching 4-5 TV series in a row. Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, That's So Raven, iCarly, Victorious, and the list goes on as a few of my favourite TV series of all time. But now since a few of them reach it's final episode and some of them mysteriously discontinued for some reasons I have also found other series that I enjoyed. The 1995 series of Friends will be my number 1 favourite TV show as if for now, followed by How I Met Your Mother, Pretty Little Liars and now, Riverdale. For years I think I only enjoyed the comedy-genre shows but as time goes by I also found a more mysterious/drama genre made it to my list as one of my favourite shows.
I hve watched a lot of TV series and most of them are still ongoing, due to the fact that Movies and TV shows are my hobby and passion at the same time. The first series that I am going to talk about is Grey's Anatomy. Grey's Anatomy tells us the story of doctors in the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital at Seattle. I like the series for its editing, storyline that never bores me even after 15 seasons, and the songs that were used in the dramatic scenes, it delivered an emotional impact into the audience. The series have also won Emmy Awards from time to time, so the competency and ratingbof the series shouldn't be argued again. This series also inspired me at one time to become a doctor, even thoigh it didn't happen eventually.
The second series that I am going to talk about is Criminal Minds. I have watched this series before I watched Grey's Anatomy, and the first time I had watched it was at 7 years old. I have to say, Criminal Minds intrigued me, by offering contents and a reclusive theme that opens the mind of viewers and tags them along in thinking for the longing of the episode. Instead of offering solving criminal cases by scientific and buddy cop miscellaneous, such as CSI & Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds offers victimology, by giving insight access to the mind of the criminals and the victims. I have to say though that this series is quite disturbing for not just some people, but many people. It was even Recommended/Rated-R in some episodes.
I have watched a lot of series, making it difficult for me to publish this last post, due to choosing which series I want to discuss. The series that I am going to talk about here is Glee. To be honest. I've enjoyed Glee, since it's debut perhaps. It teaches teenagers to stand up for themselves and express their true characteristics shamelessly. It has a lot of hidden messages through the series (like Black Mirror, which is also one of my favourite series, but I am not going to talk about it here.). The songs singed throughout the series was also fantastic. But some of the typical high school drama could be toned down though.
Reading this post make me want to write about another series, which is Smallville. I am a comic book nerd since I was just a little boy. Smallville gives us the story about Superman during the time he was just Clark Kent. I adored drama in cinema so much, and Smallville gives me the traits about a TV series that I needed according to myself. All the aspects of the series are awesome, and don't forget his first love, Lana Lang, was really beautiful.
I personally don't like TV series at all. I would prefer watching movie instead of TV series. The reason is because I don't like the story that is too convoluted and I am too lazy to wait for the new episode. Whenever I watch something, I want it to be over at one time so that I will not end up being fulfilled by the curiosities and uncertainties. Besides, in my own opinion, TV series is way too dramatic and I can’t cope with that. Like for example, I tried to watch one TV series and the title was “pretty little liars” and I only watched one episode, and I was like “what the hell am I watching right now?!”. Really, it was super dramatic moreover after almost the end of the first episode before it was stated “to be continued” the scene was super dramatic. That is why I prefer watching movies because they are less dramatic.
My favorite foreign TV series is hands down How I met Your Mother because it taught me so many life lesson, and sometime the characters inside the series have something to say about it and might help me to cope up with the similar problems in my real life. Sometime the problems are related to friendship or even love. My favorite character in the series hands down is Ted Mosby played by Josh Radnor. The character’s significant other is Robin Scherbatsky played by Cobie Smulders where both of them usually have a conflict between one another and they once split up and Ted Mosby always think about how they could be a better couple. There is one quote from Ted Mosby where it hit me so hard right in my heart when I herd the idiotic, funny person like Ted Mosby said once. The quote is “If you’re looking for the word that means caring about someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you, it’s love. And when you love someone you just, you…you don’t stop, ever. Even when people roll their eyes, and call you crazy. Even then. Especially then. You just—you don’t give up. Because if I could just give up…if I could just, you know, take the whole world’s advice and—and move on and find someone else, that wouldn’t be love. That would be… that would be some other disposable thing that is not worth fighting for. But I—that’s not what this is.” it is the quote that made me know true love does exists.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite foreign television series is The Stranger Things.
ReplyDeleteI think that the best foreign television series of all time is American Horror Story.
ReplyDeleteLike everything we have in life, I don’t have one favorite above others; especially when it comes to TV shows.
ReplyDeleteI have watched so many TV series, and I have tons of favourites.
ReplyDeleteMy other favourite, more on the comedy side, would be Friends.
DeleteI also really loved watching The Vampire Diaries, which is a fantasy drama series.
DeleteWatching foreign TV series is not a thing that i do in the present days.
ReplyDeleteIn the present days i do not watch any more TV series because my interest towards the TV series in Disney Channel has decrease.
DeleteI got so many favorite tv show. Actually i picked up this show is because I'm just to tired of those cheesy-love drama things, this one burn all patriotism spirit inside me, if you're looking for some lighter drama and had enough with the stereotypes then this one is definitely worth it
ReplyDeleteIf I got to choose my favourite foreign TV series, I got to choose Game of Thrones.
ReplyDelete
DeleteThe other TV series that I like is Riverdale.
ReplyDeleteThere are actually too many TV shows with different genres that I have watched and I would say I am a big fan of solving crimes kinda shows so I would say my favourite show is Hawaii Five-O.
ReplyDeleteNot only solving crimes kinda shows, I would say I am a drama freak.
DeleteBreaking Bad is the best TV series that I have ever watched.
ReplyDeleteWe have binged watch the show, start-to-finish and I would wait impatiently as he came home from work to watch the next episode with him.
DeleteThank you, Vince Gilligan.
ReplyDeleteAnother show I'm gonna talk about will be "The Expanse", a sci-fi series originally shown in SyFy that is known for its excellent writing and "hard" sci-fi elements.
DeleteI have known and seen many different TV series.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I also like crime-solving and mystery series.
DeleteHello Pascal, apparantly, we share the same interest of foreign tv series.
ReplyDeleteSo far I’ve watched many foreign TV series, and I would like to discuss two of the best TV series that always kept to impress me.
ReplyDeleteThe second TV series is a bit hard to pick, there are so many good TV series these days especially with the help of existence from Netflix, Netflix gave so many good recommendations, but out of all the series, I would like to pick a series called Band of Brother, this is an old series back from 2001.
DeleteI do not really follow a lot of foreign tv series but i do follow a few foreign tv series.
ReplyDeleteThe graphics are a little bit sadist but i guess it is somehow tolerable.
DeleteI have to say that I am not really into TV series, because sometimes watching TV series could be tiring for me.
ReplyDeleteI actually have quite a few favourite foreign tv series.

ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to foreign TV series, my favourite would be Stranger Things.
DeleteTalking about favourite foreign television series I think my most favourite television series is Top Gear UK because actually there are a lot of Top Gear series but the one I like the most is the one from UK, before I was going to type this I was actually unsure whether Top Gear can categorized as a TV series but after I search and it said it is a TV series at least that’s what google said.
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad for the win!
ReplyDeleteThere are a number of foreign tv series that I watched through the years.
ReplyDeleteIn my early teenagers, I watched a British TV series about automobiles called Top Gear.
DeleteAnother TV Series I watched in my early teens is Perception.
Delete‘The Mentalist’ has always been one of my favourite foreign tv series.
ReplyDeleteFor me, watching TV series is still one of my favorite activities to do.
ReplyDeleteI have watched a lot of foreign tv series, mostly with my mom. That’s it.
ReplyDeleteAfter I am bored with Perception, I asked my friends who were sitting at the same junior high school with me at that time.
ReplyDeleteThe characters of the series How I Met Your Mother is very realistic, and their actions doesn’t seem like it is from a situation comedy series.
DeleteBinge watching a series took a huge toll on me.
DeleteIf somebody what is my favorite foreign TV series they will think me as a child.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, Dhanes I supposed that you’re in to South Park as well huh?
DeleteLike many other teens, I watch a few TV series and I have got a number of good ones that I would recommend to people; but my top pick has to be ‘How to Get Away with Murder’.

ReplyDeleteI have actually watched so many foreign TV series, usually from Netflix, Korean drama, or even anime.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to TV series, I always prefer series that will addict me and pull my will to watch the next episode.
ReplyDeleteThe other TV series I want to talk about is the Peaky Blinders.
DeleteStranger Things is an American science fiction-horror web television series created, written, and directed by the Duffer Brothersand released on Netflix.
DeleteI am always interested in tv series that are involving law and politics. Why? because watching it does not only entertain us, but it will also give us lessons of life.
ReplyDeleteI usually have a hard time watching an entire tv series simply because I get bored of it mid way and then I drop it altogether.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of foreign TV series that I like. I really love friends since it actually entertains me and cheers me up everytime I had a bad mood, even my phone case is related to Friends: the quote of what Ross Geller, one of the characters in Friends, said. lol.
ReplyDeleteAnother comedy (and can be included as sitcom as well) series that I like is called The Good Place.
DeleteI don’t watch a lot of foreign TV series; Some of the series that I watch are Grey’s Anatomy, Castle, Riverdale, Glee and the first few episodes of How to Get Away with Murder.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure which foreign TV series that I like the most.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I’m just started to watch TV series that my friend, Sabrina Kiasati from Friday have suggested.
ReplyDeleteBeing a general Seth Macfarlane fan, every tv show that he creates will become a favor to each and everyone of his fans. Personally, being a fan of subtle humor devours my neutral perspective on Seth Macfarlane’s tv shows. Family Guy being the best one in my opinion, is due to the fact of the humor and the low-key satire of the clichĂ© society that we live in now. For example, Family Guy would satirize the generalization of white people being “white people” in this movie. What differentiates Family Guy from other TV shows or per-se, cartoons, is the lack of knowledge that we gain from the humor itself. My personal opinion favors cartoons where gives us insight of some generalization or stereotypes that are available in this world although sometimes most of the time is only about stereotypes in America. And this is an advantage that not all cartoons have because sometimes cartoons are made for views and not for the satisfaction of the writer itself.
ReplyDeleteThe kind of TV series that I watch are animations from Japan, known as anime.
ReplyDeleteIn this day and age, there’s an abundance amount of good quality TV shows from a variety of genres.
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad was a masterpiece in all aspects of film-making, character development, acting, and everything in between.
ReplyDeleteI would say there’s too much of TV shows that I’ve watched in the past that made it into my favorite list.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I am into Spanish series right now.
ReplyDeleteThe TV series I like the most is "we bare bears" because he has a unique character and very funny behavior.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch tv series as much as i used to when i was a kid.
ReplyDeleteI am not an avid enthusiast for television series as I rarely watch any of them, aside from Japanese anime series, Takeshi Castle, and a few shows that I remember watching in the past.
ReplyDeleteI also like the episode titled "Coffe cave".
ReplyDeleteThe first day they opened a cafe, very crowded with visitors and more and more happy with their brothers thanks to the ice bear who has the skill to make coffee.
DeleteIt is been a long time for me to not watching TV series.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes this series great is the variety of cast of supporting characters.
ReplyDeleteAnother TV series that also my favorite is Black Mirror.
DeleteI have so many favorite TV series.
ReplyDeleteGame of thrones is definetly my favorite tv series.
ReplyDeletethe TV series that I like the most is the flash.
ReplyDeleteI have not been watching television lately but before I went to college, I used to watch series that are related to crime such as CSI and Hawaii Five-0.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite foreign TV series is The Walking Dead.
ReplyDeleteMy other favourite foreign TV series is Star Trek Discovery.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite foreign TV series is Doctor House.
ReplyDeleteI actually have two favourites foreign tv series, the first one is Daredevil, and the other one is vikings.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know much about tv series, but there’s one tv series that I often watch, its Good Doctor.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite foreign TV series would be How to Get Away with Murder.
ReplyDeleteFor me, my favorite TV show is NCIS, both the regular NCIS and the NCIS : New Orleans.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite TV series would be Star Wars: the Clone Wars.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite foreign TV series is SIX, this TV series genre is drama and action.
ReplyDeleteAny fan of TV series wouldn’t be a stranger to Game of Thrones.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite foreign TV series is La Casa de Papel (Money Heist in English).
ReplyDeleteMy favourite TV series is Sherlock Holmes. It is made by the British Broadcasting Corporation.
ReplyDeleteOf course it is based on the novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
ReplyDeleteI think I have posted on this article, but because I love this article a bit too much I would like to post another comment because I have so many favourite foreign TV shows.
ReplyDeleteAnother TV series that I like is actually still considered as an on-going series.
ReplyDeleteI’m not like your typical TV series binger who finished up one whole season in a day, in fact, I don’t really watch a lot of TV series, I prefer watching movies instead of watching continuous stories that could take a whole week of your time.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about Black Mirror is the fact that it is an anthology TV series, which means that each episode has its own storyline that mostly doesn’t connect to another episode, so I can start watching from any episode and doesn’t waste my time wondering what would happen in the next episode.
DeleteThis is one of those articles where I can talk about non-stop as I’ve always loved watching Western TV series.
ReplyDeleteMy second all-time favourite TV series goes to ‘Breaking Bad’.
DeleteBreaking Bad’s theme was so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch a lot of TV, but the TV in my house is getting more and more unused with the progress of other forms of entertainment.
ReplyDeleteBrooklyn 99 is great.
ReplyDeleteMost of my favourite TV series are actually from when I was a little kid, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.
ReplyDeleteI hve watched a lot of TV series and most of them are still ongoing, due to the fact that Movies and TV shows are my hobby and passion at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThe second series that I am going to talk about is Criminal Minds.
DeleteI have watched a lot of series, making it difficult for me to publish this last post, due to choosing which series I want to discuss.
DeleteReading this post make me want to write about another series, which is Smallville.
DeleteI personally don't like TV series at all.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite foreign TV series is hands down How I met Your Mother because it taught me so many life lesson, and sometime the characters inside the series have something to say about it and might help me to cope up with the similar problems in my real life.
